Vampire Head Issue

This one is probably a stupid question, guys, but I always unlurk with a stupid question, it seems.
So, recently, I began playing Morrowind again. I've got everything installed correctly, ordered sufficiently, merged and such, runs fine... and then my character became a vampire, rather without warning, but I was fine for this, as I had all the appropriate vampire mods installed. Now, I'm running Westly's Master Headpack [And I'm fairly sure Better Heads, but the face I'm using is from Westly's], and it apperaed that my Dunmer mage now lacks a face. Would this be caused by mod conflicts of some kind, or is it that Westly's pack simply lacks appropriate vampire heads? If that is the case, is there a way I can fix this aside from not using it?

i would say, the vampire head has nothing to do with westlys pack but I'm not sure. the vamp heads should be given with the vamp mods (or - if you would not use one, default by the game). there is a solution for it (i hope you have wrye mash - but it is not so bad if not).

look for the date of change of all these mods (wes and the vamp mods) and note them somewhere. now open the first mod in the cs. go for the section "bod part" and look out for b_v_dark elf_m_head_01. double click and check the square for "playable". this will make the vamp head appear in the char-selection (where you just don't choose it) but also will force your vamp head to show up ingame.

since i don't know which mod causes this, you have to do it with all possible mods. afterwards set back the date to the original one with wrye mash and clean the saves to have less hazzle with them.

Yes, that's a glitch with vampire heads: if I remember correctly, the name of the file used for the vampire head *must* have the same format used by vanilla ones (B_V_(insert CS race name here)_(insert M if male head, F if female head here)_Head_01.NIF), otherwise the head will not show correctly on your character.

Not to worry, thought, because there's a simple solution: just equip/unequip an article of clothing (even an amulet or ring is fine) and the head will appear again. :)

The problem could show up again when reloading, or if using the "vampire mask" spell from Vampiric Illusion. The fix is the same, anyway... equip/unequip a piece of clothing.
