To Vampire or Not To Vampire

I know, this has been probably been discussed to death, but it is a new subject for me and I am looking for a bit of information.

I have never tried playing a vampire based on all the negative input I have seen in all the forums, however, I recently watched a video on YouTube which did a very good job explaining the strengths and weaknesses of a vampire. Based on that video, I decided to ask in the forums for people to offer their advice as to the pros and cons of playing a vampire. They seem to gain quite a few strengths as a vampire, however, they also seem to gain a lot of negatives...the largest to me appears to be the fact that you cannot talk to other NPCs and because of that, you cannot sell your items to shopkeepers.

Please do not spam this post, it is a very honest attempt to understand the Vampire race. If you have any thoughts, please post them and let's try to have a good discussion about what I think may be the least understood race in the game.

Thanks for all the input..........

What negative input?

If you're a vampire in Cyrodiil, you can still sell your items to shopkeepers and talk to NPCs and do what you want, you just have to feed regularly, or before interacting with those NPCs. Almost all of them won't notice and you'll blend in. You also won't take Sun Damage after feeding, so that's a big plus. You just have to be cautious and careful and watch when and where you're fast traveling when you're at higher levels of vampirism, as you might fast travel to find yourself dead on arrival.

Pretty much, it's a fun roleplaying experience and it adds a new element of challenge to the game. It's fun to mess around with, HOWEVER, depending on what platform you play on, the quest to cure yourself of vampirism is easily the most buggy quest in the game, and all kinds of problems can occur that cause you to never be able to cure yourself. That alone is reason to make additional saves so you can go back to a time where you are not a vampire. If you're playing on the PC, it's very easy to cure yourself, though. If you're on the 360, you can get the Vile Lair official plugin to cure yourself easily. If you're on the PS3 and you encounter this glitch, then, well, you're kind of boned. Load that previous save.

I'd recommend at least trying it out. I think it's fun. But again, make more than one save file so you can go back if you don't like it and can't cure yourself.
