Oh how I wish werewolves were in Oblivion. I was running through the Great Forest with my vampire character and I was like "Totally a great place to transfor ad roam the country side"

Werewolf slayers should be constantly after you and people(Not all, very few) should find out who you are if you are a Lycanthrope. In werewolf form, their eyes give away their alterior "normal" form. Both lore and even in Bloodmoon suggests this. It could all depend on the relationship you have with the NPC. But I rather have no one find out.

Gannicus from Spartacus is cool. Also, if your going to bump this thread to say stuff like "Man Bear Pig" don't even bother posting it at all. It's a waste of space.

Might be a wild suggestion but how about a new curse?
Just give it a good back story and some balanced stats with a change to player appearance and done.
Would give some new lore and a fresh new curse-race for us to roleplay with.

(Dunno if it would contradict lore if it's new lore.)

New curse? Hell no. It would be understandable to be a Lich or something, but that's it. Let's say Elder Scrolls VI takes place in Valenwood, then I wouldn't mind being some sort of Undead pirate.

Well the curses have to start some time right?
Why can't a new curse have started around 172 years prior to Skyrim's date?

What would this new curse be? As long as it makes us badass creatures rather than boring normal "Champions" and "Dovakins"

Well... this have nothing to do with vampires&werebeasts but what if your a Nord and get killed by draugher... then it would be cool as hell if I would awake as one... and if your killed by necromancers I'd like it if they brougt you as a skeleton/zombie/ghost... and if the only way to be cleanced and brought back would be a deal with... oh wait... nevermind that... ain't saying more... just got a mod idea... you better not steal it Bethesda!

No idea really, something new, a new "monster" design.
I mean, werewolves and vampires, while interesting, are pretty generic.
I'd like for them to come up with a new curse that's completely a Bethesda design.
Rather than just looking at old mythical iconic curses and just copy-pasting it.
It ain't something that is a "make or break" feature for me, if the only thing we can be is vampires then yknow, "whatever", I don't mind too much.
But since Bethesda does have these curses that we can attract I think it's a shame to not utilize it and come up with something new and creative.

....modify the game. [CENSOREDS]. Thinking they can do better than the developers. I shake my head at these poor saps as I am killed for the 5,000th time by a Cliff Racer.

Rather than new curses or supernatural diseases as such, something that might be interesting (given a sufficiently exhaustive implementation of lycanthropy and/or vampirism) is additional layers, or tiers (strains?) of porphyric hemophilia and sanies lupinus.

So it might be possible to contract a lesser form of lycanthropy, developing "wolfish" traits and certain advantages and disadvantages, without being a true werewolf. And likewise, vampirism might have a lesser form (thralls?), resulting in less effective powers and stat penalties rather than death when exposed to sunlight.

Exsaustive use of Lycanthropy? We only had it twice.....and most played it once in Bloodmoon.

Personally, I would advocate that Bethesda implements Vampirism first. Put Werewolves in as well, but if have to choose which to implement in vanilla, and which in an expansion, put Vampires in first.

Here's my reasoning.

-Vampires are more compatible with Dragon Shouts - Werewolves couldn't really use them while transformed, if they could it would come off as rather silly I think.
-The Dark Brotherhood is confirmed to be making a return in some form - and they have a history of employing vampires.

Don't me wrong, I love the idea of Werewolves as well - and I think it would match the brutal feel of Skyrim well - so if you can Bethesda, please implement both. Choosing between them would be like a mega-perk lol. But as aforestated, if you only have the resources for one, I would suggest Vampires first.

I personally would rather be a vampire or werewolf from level 1. And yes, the Dark Brotherhood has history with vampires. Specifically, the Crimson Scars. The splinter faction led by Greywyn who planned to overthrow the Black Hand because he believed Sithis only wanted vampiric members. Of course, one of his own opened his big mouth and snitched, causing the Crimson Scars to be massacred in a purification as they slept(I wonder how it would have ended if the Crimson Scars were not sleeping, since the Crimson Scars were known to "Rival the Dark Brotherhood itself"). We only know of a single survivor; Rowly Eardwulf. Hopefully, he might want to rebuild the Scars this time around. They could of laid low all these 200 hundred years. After all, they are vampires.

Well... Cyrodills vampires are the only one capable of looking human if well-feed... all other vampires are... well... in the poll I posted every known kind of vampire and small discriptions of them... so Skyrims vampires won't be able to play as a dragonborn until cured by the BROKEN cure quest... werewolves and werebears on the other hand are human and normal most of the time, allowing them to take part in the main-quest... therefor Werewolves and Werebears would be the smartest choice, since we've learned from Ob that they don't like any ristrictions for certain people to do anything, not a single faction dis-allowed another faction (Morrowind atleast had those damn great houses)... and therefor should Bethesda make WEREBEARS first (they're more unique and barely seen anywhere but TES lore) then WEREWOLVES (they're cool as hell to but seen quite often)... and if they have time VAMPIRES (because of the mentioned facts and because Skyrims Volkihar would requirre certain spell effects (freeze to ice and the ability to walk through ice) and only make 'em available for vampires...

When I said mega-perk, I just meant that it would be a large customization decision, I didn't mean that it would require you to be a certain level. I agree that at level one you should be able to go out and get infected by a vamp or werewolf lol.

The Crimson Scars sound awesome, here's to hoping they make it into the game!

Oh, and in reply to the second guy to reply to my post - werebears? Really? Might as well throw manbearpig, weregoats, and weremudcrabs in while you're at it lol. Let's just stick to Werewolves - they have way more fans then the weird other variations of were-creatures, and Bethesda has experience with implementing them.
