-Vampires are more compatible with Dragon Shouts - Werewolves couldn't really use them while transformed, if they could it would come off as rather silly I think.

Are you kidding? Thu'um Howl!

But I agree with you in general. Vampires are inherently more "playable" in most RPG settings.

PS: This is post 201 - would someone else rather make the new thread (assuming the moderators approve)?

*Werewolf faces off with Dragon.*

Werewolf: "Arooooo! Arf-arf-arooooo!"

Dragon: "..."

Werewolf: *transforms back to human form* "erm, I mean, DOH SEV VAHM!"

lol.

As for the new thread, the mods might want it postponed until this one tops 300 posts or something.

I don't know about the idea of 'Werewolf or Lycanthrope hunters'. Due to some sort of crusade the numbers of lycanthropes were greatly depleted and by the time of the events in Morrowind and Oblivion even werewolves, the most common lycanthrope, are considered to be very rare. Unless the number of Lycanthropes have greatly increased in the last 200 years then I would not expect to see any NPC making a living or specializing in that profession.

Yes, but Lycanthropy increased when The Bloodmoon ritual came about. Who knows what happened in these 200 years.

As far as a werewolf being dragon born, he's only going to be transformed part of the time, and the other time he's going to be an above-average human. So there's really no conflict with him being able to fight dragons. And even if he was transformed (and thus not able to use shouts) he would still be a formidable opponent, in previous games werewolf claws are somewhat magical (can harm supernatural creatures like ghost and daedra) in addition to having super strength and health regeneration. It's no harder to envision a werewolf jumping on a dragon's back and going for the throat than it is for a human with a sword and shield.

And for "werewolves" not being common enough to warrant werewolf hunters, well, that's not true. Sure, there might not be an epidemic like in the past, but they haven't been completely wiped out. So you aren't going to see as many werewolf hunters as say, fisherman or blacksmiths. In Morrowind, most people thought vampires were extinct, even though they weren't. So even though you only met a few vampire hunters (most of which belonged to the Temple which was telling everyone there weren't any) they were definitely present.
