Vampire&Werebeast 9

The Ninth Vampire&Werebeast thread...
This thread is for discussion of the vampires, werebears, and werewolves we hope to see in Skyrim...

I think i'd be cool if each werebeast and vampire clan have atleast one unique power...

1. Volkihar. The ability to go through ice.
2. Volkihar. The ability to freze with their breath.

3. Werewolves. If this was implemented I'd be power enough.
NeverComingBack, on 20 February 2011 - 01:32 PM, said:
Here's an idea for werewolves: Werewolves mostly run alone but if Hirchine has a quest for them they may unite in dozens and lay siege on cities (would be a cool hircihines quest for werewolves only to destroy a city) while in wolf form they should be considered wolf by other wolves, and if you prove your power to agroup of wolves by killing (or horrible crippeling) their pack leader, during this time the pack is yours and the wolves are yours to command... their den your home and their enemys your enemys, infact other wolf pack may attack your den and lead to an allout war until your den has been taken or your enemy killed, all this should go on during your two-day-a-month long time as a werewolf (two moons equal dubble full-moon and just because it ain't night douesn't mean the fullmoon won't show) once your back in human form the wolves will attack you, no longger seeing you as their brother and when you transform back into werewolf you'll have to find a new pack... this would truly be epic and would add so much to the 48 hours of bloodsheat...

4. Werebears. An epic power would be the ability to grow up to x3 as big get up to x3 at all stats, health, fatigue, atributes, damage...

Shouldn't the thread title be "Vampires & Werebeasts"?

Damn you to Oblivion. And I hope you are "Never Coming Back" from there. No problem though, I will wait till thread 13 is ready to create, because 13 is my lucky number :P

No hard feelings? I however, am Lycanthropy and vampirism number 1 fan in ES.

Just got a cool idea for a cave if it ain't in-gamr I'll make a mod (if the game already contains werewolves and werebears (I wouldn't be able to make 'em myself  ), my idea for spell powers must also be in for it to be 100% like this  (so it mostlikely won't happen))...

You here rumors in town of a rather unnaturaly big pack of wolves raiding the town every fullmoon... people always say that even though it might sound like those horrible lycanthrobes all they've of 'em were pure wolves, they point up towards a rather large cave on a fullmoon night (the cave will somehow be in-accesable when it ain't fullmoon), they promise a reward for dealing with those nasty wolves before they have another massive feast on the towns last cattle, so once you enter the wolf den, all there is is just a long tunnel leading into a large room... once you walk in under the arch connecting the two rooms you witness tons of decapitated remains of wolves, if you look carefully you also find a few dead werewolves within the piles of death (so that explains why the group of wolves gathered) as you turn to walk back you realise that on top of the arch you walk in under there is another arch and within that arch a Werebear 3x its normal size... it jumps down and charges against you, the massive beasts landing causes a *FORGOT THE WORD* (one of those things were snow falls down from a mountain) and a cave-in... you must now face the massive beast...once it drops dead the floor beneath you cracks and reveals a huge open hole, if you survive the fall you are finally to follow a labyrinth of tunnels from bellow strait 'till you find an exit... (the tunnels are filled with giant spiders and draughers+other stuff that might fit) and now you can return to town and tell 'em that you found the wolves dead and gain 500 gold, or lie and tell them that you killed all the wolves and found and killed werewolves single-handedly (the higher your speechcraft the higher the cance they'll belive you) if they belive you they'll give you +10 reputation 25% off in all stores, and a choice between 500gold (your original setteled prize) or an artifact.

If they decide to make an expansion pack with werewolves, I think that this would make a great video opening:

-Rumours are heard about the island of 'Ulfur Eyja' off the coast of Skyrim that is said to be cursed with an ancient and feared evil, travelers fool-hardy enough to seek transport to those shores never return with one exception:
Here follows the account of the return of the long-ship 'Eyvindir' captained and led by the renowned explorer and warrior Halldorr Gunnarsen and his crew of twenty brave souls which set out four months prior.

In the early morning hours of a Middas, a lone ship came home to port...The watchman of the docks tried to hail the ship to moor with no reply...As the ship approached out of the fog and gently collided into the docks, the watchman agape with horror overlooked a terrible sight. The decks were awash in blood, body parts and broken weapons. The main-sail , once a brilliant blue and white, now bathed in blood and ripped in tatters, its once proud mast shredded into splinters. A closer examination of the ship for those with strong enough constitution to climb aboard yielded few answers as to the where abouts of Gunnarson and his crew. The only clues were cryptic runic message hastily scrawled into the mainmast and the severed arm of Gunnarsen, which had shown clear signs of being gnawed upon, gripping tightly to his sword 'Agnithor', which was smeared in blood and wolf's hair...

Dear Bethesda,

You might hear a lot of people asking for werewolves. They are also asking for things like questlines, vampire/werewolf wars, etc. Please, don't feel overwhelmed. All we need, all we ever needed, was for werewolves to be a randomly spawned monster, and for the player to be able to contract Lycanthropy. Since a great mention has been made of werebears (in your own lore) it would be nice to have those as well.

Anything else, like an extensive questline, important NPCs who are werewolves, other werecreatures like wereboars would of course be welcome.

Just please, for the love of Hircine, don't ignore werewolves. It would be a grave mistake.

What do you guys think about sun damage? Part of the biggest pain in OB was that days went by too fast, you'd be in the mid of a quest and whoops, suns coming up at mach 9 trillion, you have 2 seconds to hide!

Tone it down, adjust timescale (I did this in OB)? Take it out?

I hope they bring back the ring from bloodmoon

As much as I love Morrowind, Bloodmoon's interpretation of Hircine's Ring was weak. Hircine's Ring should stop transformations, NOT give non-lycanthropes the ability to turn.

I also think that using Hircine's Ring should weaken the player. If I resist turning with my ring, I should wake up with some kind of attribute drain, or, if more hardcoe is implemented, (and I hope so) I should become extremely hungry by the time I wake. (also if I don't feed as a werecreature)

And I also hope to see more werecreatures. I love them all. And they shouldn't just be anatomically the exact same as a werewolf, with a different head. Be creative!

Yes, but I do not see the reason for vampire vs Werewolf war. It's not nescessary. Vampires already have their enemies, which is occasionally themselves.

I agree entirely. The ring should control and prevent Lycanthropes from transforming and make normal humans who do not have Lycanthropy turn into werewolves.

It's a tricky question, assuming that we can't simply expect Skyrim's game time to be significantly slower than Oblivion's.

Perhaps a damage and/or effect scale dependent on the time of day, weather, and location? So an overcast dawn in a dense forest might result in a mildly uncomfortable vampire; a clear day at noon on open tundra, conversely, results in a fatally toasty vampire. That would be best, I think; it might still result in "ohhellnoI'mtoast" moments, but the vampire player could minimise the risk in an intuitive, immersive way by taking advantage of weather patterns and terrain.

I'd be disappointed if sun damage was removed altogether; to fear it, or at least avoid it, is a defining trait of what makes a vampire a vampire.
