Vampires confirmed!

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:20 am

Just because vampires are there doesn't mean we can be one. Remember that Skryim is notorious for a few of its vampire clans. One in the east (forgot the name) can reach up from a frozen lake and take you under without even breaking the ice. Pretty cool stuff. However, it would be kinda mean for them to put the clans in without allowing us to become vampires so hopefully that's incentive for them to include it.

Anyways I want a werewolf to attack me out of nowhere (It is going to freak me out and be a hilarious experience) and turn me into a werewolf so I can kill those vampires werewolf style.

Sure would be nice.

Based on previous TES games one can assume that Skyrim will have innkeepers, desks, chairs, bottles, forks, and yes, vampires.

If they put vampires and werewolves in this game I somehow suspect a bloody Twilight reference... as long as it does not involve a sparkly vampire I wouldnt care =/

Yes, it was tragic, but also expected. I'm honestly surprised they let it go on for so long.... :teehee:

Well they had to or they'd be insulting the corn! Nobody wants that.

On topic, we've been able to become vampires since Daggerfall. I'd be frankly surprised if they didn't include it this time.

Vampires and werewolves WILL be in the game. I don't need any official confirmation. It's called using your noggin...

I don't like vampires.

When I started Oblivion (My cousins convinced me) I rolled a Lizard (They told me after I picked him that it was nearly impossible to become a vampire with lizard).

The first time I slept BAM VAMPIRE, second time I slept (Cured my disease by then) BAM vampire.

It is like they are stalking me.

Anyways I want a werewolf to attack me out of nowhere (It is going to freak me out and be a hilarious experience) and turn me into a werewolf so I can kill those vampires werewolf style.

It's your fault, sad to say. In order to become a vampire in Oblivion you had to get hit by vampires while fighting them. What's more, you either didn't see or just ignored the part where it tells you you got the disease. Then you played for 3 days without noticing the effect, and then you slept. It isn't the game's fault. Also, did you just use a Cure Disease spell or potion after you slept? After the 72 hours that doesn't work, but if you did the quest, it is still your fault.

I think they are in, in fact I would bet all my internets that it is true. It is a staple of TES, I just hope they combine the elements of Morrowind and Oblivion (Passing for human in Oblivion, an actual culture and society in Morrowind).

Yes, you missed a lot, I'm afraid to say. A whole 12 pages devoted to corn... It was a very eventful day. And now we have this thread with someone who has a death wish playing an April Fools joke on those of us who want to be vampires in Skyrim.... (undoubtedly, it will be in the game, but it is quite cruel for them to taunt us in such a way.)

well, I'm not sure which travel system thread you are talking about, as I've seen at least a couple, but have not read them all. I know that there will be carriages implemented in Skyrim as part of the travel system, and that was announced at the end of last month, so that's true.

But if you want a good laugh, you should definitely check out the 12 page thread about corn.

Yes, good times.... I wish we could get away with stuff like that more often. Alas! April Fools day comes but once a year.... (Personally, I've never been a fan of it...but today was the best April Fools day I've ever had...)

Well you obviously have not realized the full use of jello and friends. Combining the two in different circomstances and combinations can create an endless amount of laughs...

Totally breaks my jello immersion when people expect me to not use jello to its fullest potential. Sure, I could hold back...but that would be to out of character for an rpg like life.

Pretty much this, I'm certain vampires are involved in Skyrim. Why wouldn't they be? If vampires could infect the Nerevarine, why not the Dragonborn? He's still a mortal after all.

Indeed, I'd be surprised if vampires WEREN'T in, they've consistently been in the game and really aren't that hard to do. Now if WEREWOLVES are in, then I'll be impressed.

I'm no Lore Master but I'm pretty sure the Nerevarine was immune to disease according to the prophecy

That's true, but that immunity was only gained after a certain point in the story, before that, the Nerevarine could become a vampire as well. And we haven't been told about any similar aspects to the Dovahkiin's prophecy.

Technically he wasn't considered the 'Nerevarine' at that point but this is all tangential.

I never really was able to get that deep into the vampirism thing. I really enjoyed that it was there but for some reason it didn't really compel me enough to follow through. Might have been the whole "people notice" part of it. Vampires aren't supposed to be that noticeable
