If these new vampires are Volkihar, then why are they using fireball spells? They're suppose to have icy breath, pull victims under frozen lakes. I see more potential for arctic features than fire. Hmm. Hopefully, these aren't generic Cyrodillic vampires.

Not all Vampires in Skyrim are Volkihar. But the Volkihar are the most feared and talked about in the region. Also, the Volkihar reside only in the eastern portion of Skyrim...My guess is somewhere near Windhelm or south of Laintar Dale..

Not all Vampires need be of the Volkihar clan. There are clan-less and nomadic Vampires. And they need not only use frost spells. Frost spells work for their theme but I don't see why a powerful Vampire clan would limit themselves.

There are two things I want improved on from Oblivion's vampires:

1. It does not make sense to feed to become weaker. Feeding to keep up your stength is better (Don't include Cyrodiilic vampires if it breaks lore)

2. As a vampire in Oblivion, I did not feel powerful. I should feel all powerful as a vampire.

There isn't really a way to say "I told you so" without sounding like a pompous [censored] is there? I guess I'll just join in with everybody else - yay! :celebration:

Again ill post this.

Vampires being in was obvious, I doubt anyone thought otherwise. The real question is if you can become a vampire yourself which is still unknown.

Well I highly doubt that they would include vampires and just omit porphyric hemophilia. If there are vampires to battle, one can only expect you will be able to contract the disease and that its effect will still be to turn you into a vampire.

If they got more Cowbell, sure, that's great and I'll give it a try to be one, but I want my Lycanthropy.

This is one of the best things Bethesda could have done for me. My character is an evil sorcerer so I want as many ways to convey this as I can. Sacrificing his freedom (walking in the day, talking with folks) for violent and manipulitive power is a way for me to feel that he is evil.

I do too. But if Lycanthropy is not in the game, I'll settle for vampirism.

So you are shocked that an article talking about Skyrim would have spoiler info? If so then I feel for you and your potty mouth!

Great find OP, the author has an interesting way of expressing his thoughts.

Yeah, I'd have preferred if they fed to become stronger and better hidden, but going without feeding turned them into an emaciated wreck. It would have given a sense of survival.

I know we won't be able to be volkihar vampires. I'm thinking that the Cyrodiilic vampires have moved north. The volkihar live under the ice. Fun gameplay right? No. Bethesda would not include playable volkihar vampires because he gameplay would svck.

But I would much rather have werewolves than Oblivion vampires, maybe Bethesda will improve them..?

I would rather have werewolves than vampires any day, please refer to http://troll.me/i-spread-love-like-butter-with-a-knife/. lol

They don't exactly follow the lore...

Plus it's 200 years later.

I hope so too, oblivion turned me off from the cyrodillic vampires, Volkihar sound the coolest out of all the clans from what I've read in the lore, cant wait!!! xD

That didn't occur to me. But then, nobody said becoming a vampire, even one with ice powers, would make you forget any spells you knew before you turned.

I did notice that they laughed at him after the fireball, which made me happy. I assume "normal" enemies don't giggle with anticipation at the thought of their next kill, which is appropriately sinister for them. If memory serves, they never had unique combat dialogue/sounds to distinguish them from the average bandit.

Who don't follow the lore? The reason they would add new lore (migration of vampires for instance) is because playing as a volkihar would be no fun. How much fun does it sound to stay hidden underneath the ice and then pop up on unsuspecting people every 10 game days? Not a lot of people walk over ice lakes.

I'm 100% sure that was just sensationalist writing.
