Vampires should not look like a Raisin

Post » Mon Sep 05, 2011 6:52 am

Vampires have been seductive since Bram Stoker's Dracula! It's not a modern adaption! Neither Twilight nor Interview with a Vampire are creative enough to invent such a perfect killer. They just f*ed with the idea and made it stupid. Look at the three vampire sisters... they were super hot, and then they f*ing ate a child.. And how Lucy appeared beautiful before she went into "attack mode." I think Skyrim's vamps should be like the old fashioned kind. Meaning they first appear beautiful and seductive, and then turn into horrific, ferocious monsters just before they tear you to pieces.

Reminds me of "Blade" and "30 Days of Night"

Edit: Man the vampires in 30 Days of Night scared the CRAP out of me....

LMAO at the title..

I never really noticed it since I never became one and never got to really zoom in on their faces since I was more focused on killing them. :P

I think it will look a lot better like most of the things in the game vs Oblivion's graphics.

I do like like the older style better, but maybe because I am old too and that is just what I grew up with.

When I made this mod: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20919, Nosferatu was definitely what I had in mind.

And if you are not playing TESIV:Oblivion anymore right now and want to read Belisarius Vedius Phillida's Diary you can read it here: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1225751-diary-of-belisarius-vedius-phillida/.

That is my vision of the crazy under fed Vampire, with the Count Of Skingrad being the way a well fed one should live and act.

Except feeding makes you stronger and Not Weaker, I hate that in TESIV:Oblivion with a passion.. lol.

There will be on the PC, Modders will ensure that intriguing possibility for sure.. lol

Yes indeed they did, just like this guy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcyzubFvBsA, which is actually a pretty cool movie if you have not seen it.

Now That Guy Is Creepy!!

But that being said, I wouldn't mind a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVPxAgy7lBA, he was able to go among the living pretty well, and he was most definitely Not a "sixy young vampire".

He is Old School Scary, a Ruthless Killer and Not Creepy like his predecessor, Nosferatu.

But to me Both are really cool, and I even like the Anne Rice ones as well, but the Twilight and other ones that are out now are pushing the limits, and I think going a bit to far for sure, for me anyways. lol

Yes, I've seen Nosferatu. For me, it is the creepiest vampire of all time. The genius of this German film is that it plays with your fears using shadows, light, camera angles and gloomy atmosphere to capture that certain crescendo of horror. No other vampire movie has been able to capture this. The classic scene where you can see Nosferatu shadow of his hand slowly moving against the bright wall and his fingers, like tentacles trying to reach something, is pure directing genius.

They should also make vampires start smoking and eventually burst into flames whilst in the sunlight. Damage should increase geometrically with exposure to sunlight per time unit. Not that linear damage per time unit crap.

That reminds me of the Laser Gun in Fallout 3,when you do a critical hit, they would just burst into a pile of ashes on the floor. They should add that animation for when you go out into the sun xD

Yepper, I agree with that 100%.

That is the Father/Mother of the whole Vampire Genre as we know it today.

I just hope the feeding system doesn't work like in Oblivion, it wasn't fun. Not drinking blood makes you a super strong vampire but drinking blood makes you weak and human-like?

You misunderstood me. I said the young six symbol is a modern invention. As for the "seducing part', there's a big difference between seducing with evil, killing intent and seducing with sixual innuendo. The latter being implemented more often in movies today. Although, I heard that there are movies that are on now that depicts vampires as beasts. A new trend perhaps?

Where does it say that vampires have to look young? In my limited knowledge of vampire history/culture, the Brad Pitt/Tom Cruise sixy young vampire look is a modern invention. In the beginning vampires were considered an evil entity; then a seducer and now, a six symbol.

Like the movie "Jennifers body"?

That is one aspect I hated about Obilvion Vampire when you became one. You look very old and weak. Just give us pale skin and blood red eyes, along with a increased in speed, jumping and strength.

Why pale skin ?

In original middle ages parchments with vampire reports people described vampires to have dark skin.
Pale skin came out of Gothic influence to Hollywood movies,it came out of fashion not folklore and legends.

Just look how from this: http://www.ufodigest.com/news/0209/images/vrykolakas.jpg

we went to this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2P8DkbmUQCQ/TI_zjl4V6eI/AAAAAAAAA98/LwPrss-R_UE/s1600/Nosferatu2.jpg

and then this: http://media.photobucket.com/image/%25CE%25B2%25CF%2581%25CF%2585%25CE%25BA%25CE%25BF%25CE%25BB%25CE%25B1%25CE%25BA%25CE%25B1%25CF%2582/melidism/ChristLee.jpg

to end with that: http://www.kollewin.com/EX/09-15-06/Interview-Vampire-ps01.jpg

To some extent it depended on how well the transform effect worked with the face you made, I would guess.

If they actually implement Volkihar vampires, then no problem. Something more dark and beastly for Skyrim instead of the "aristocratic" Cyrodiilic Vampires no one wanted.

I thought that the Oblivion change was awesome! It actually made me feel like my character was undead, not just some pansy sparkle-boy...

There were both kinds in TESIV:Oblivion, Count Of Skingrad Janus Hassildor, and the ones you kill in the nest of vampires has sprung up in Bloodcrust Cavern.

I was totally fine with both, and wanted both, so I think both kinds can exist in TESV:Skyrim, or at least they can for me. :)

i hope they are fearsome n alot stronger then obs. the main thing what reali pissed me off was i made 1 character to be a vampire n just have a save file for just terrorising cyrodil as the ultimate vampire. i got the look spot on. traveled to lip sand tar (my favourite vampire dungeon) got infected woke up 3 days later n my perfect charcter looked like a feeble old man i was gutted. i dnt mind it makeing a few slight changes just enough for you to tell but not to the point where uve aged 200 years overnight.

Yes that really svcked I thought as well, and for the console players, and I don't know if you are one or not, but for the PC that was fixed with some very good mods and was never a problem.

But I agree, I hope it is not the same problem this time no matter what platform a person places on. :)

Or as pale-skinned people with only one nostril. Or having the head of a wolf. Or...
There's no "original middle age concept" of a vampire.

those things in twilight arent even vampires, though... and the werewolves arent werewolves... just because people call something by a certain name, doesnt mean they are those things.

also, TES vampires never sparkled... not even once, in any way... so why even make that comparison?

vampires, getting pale skin is one thing... the eyes should also be more unique, not just change red... because that wouldnt even look very different on a dunmer.

maybe a fiery color to the eye... a mix of orange/red, and a demon-like slit-shaped pupil or something?

what about pointed ears, no matter what race you are... i cant remember if that happened in the past games.

they should also have claws/pointed nails of course, maybe look black in color, kinda dirty, or something?

i cant think of too much more without actually changing the body structure of the characters... i doubt those kinda changes will occur, it'd be too big of a change.
