Vampires should not look like a Raisin

Post » Mon Sep 05, 2011 5:07 am

I want vampires and werewolves to be kinda like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr60kvuKw3w

Vampires should be able to mingle with society if they need to, so as a player we can still interact to obtain quests etc, but should be able to transform on command (maybe even have to do a quest to learn to control the transformations) - downside being if anyone catches you drinking blood or transforming and manages to tell the townsfolk they will rise up against you and attack you on site.

That's my opinion anyway :foodndrink:

those things in twilight arent even vampires, though... and the werewolves arent werewolves... just because people call something by a certain name, doesnt mean they are those things.

also, TES vampires never sparkled... not even once, in any way... so why even make that comparison?

vampires, getting pale skin is one thing... the eyes should also be more unique, not just change red... because that wouldnt even look very different on a dunmer.

maybe a fiery color to the eye... a mix of orange/red, and a demon-like slit-shaped pupil or something?

what about pointed ears, no matter what race you are... i cant remember if that happened in the past games.

they should also have claws/pointed nails of course, maybe look black in color, kinda dirty, or something?

i cant think of too much more without actually changing the body structure of the characters... i doubt those kinda changes will occur, it'd be too big of a change.

i like your idea for the eyes a real sinister demonic set of eyes

That is one aspect I hated about Obilvion Vampire when you became one. You look very old and weak. Just give us pale skin and blood red eyes, along with a increased in speed, jumping and strength.

And teeth. You forgot teeth.

Yes. NO ONE in this thread has asked for Twighlight-style vampires.

I want the Cyrodil vampires again.

Look, Amiki. I'm sorry. :( What I said was mean spirited, and horrible, and I'm sorry. I actually think Twilight's an okay movie! It just gets annoying when everyone's talking about it like it's some plague infecting the vampire industry. Will you accept my apology? :)

Edit: In fact that goes to everyone! To the forumers who were looking for constructive posts, only to find my selfish complaints, I'm sorry. To the mods who had to put up with my borderline flaming, I'm sorry. To the people who actually like Twilight, I'm sorry. And most of all, to anyone who I may have insulted by telling them that they're obsessing over Twilight, I am so sorry.

Except feeding makes you stronger and Not Weaker, I hate that in TESIV:Oblivion with a passion.. lol.

Like i've said in a few other posts, when a vampire feeds, the fresh blood of a mortal suppresses his Vampirism, which while allowing him to blend into society, it stunts his undead powers. When a vampire doesn't feed, his Vampirism progresses unchecked, granting him greater physical and mystical power, while making it plain for all to see what he is.
A vampire that consistently feeds on a regular schedule, is attempting to cling to mortality. Like Janus Hassildor. A vampire that forgoes feeding, is embracing his supernatural, undead nature.

Anyways, i prefer the Nosferatu type vampire. The way they were portrayed in Might and Magic VIII was also pretty bad ass.

But that being said, I wouldn't mind a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVPxAgy7lBA, he was able to go among the living pretty well, and he was most definitely Not a "sixy young vampire".

I'd prfer suave to sixy, like modern day Prince or Helen Mirren as opposed to Miranda Kerr

I was agreeing with you on the part that it isn't a trend (on these forums), so no one should have a reason to bash it...

IN Tamriel, there are different clans of vampires with there diferent advantages. Some have the nosferatu look and turn into monsters. Some are the traditinal hidden sixy vampires, others are magical beings able to swim threw ice like it was water. They can do whatever they want basicly.

I just hope that they do it morrowind style, with clan factions and a hidden free-for-all war between them. Each being very distingtive, one nosferatu, one magical, one suave. The suave gets more charisma bonus and minor physical ones , the others cant be seen unless have a mob with pichforks and torches running after him, but they get incredible bonus and physical mutations. THAT would be perfect. One clan lives in dark gloomy crypts and sewers , the other in ice caves under glaciers... the other in dark, crumbling castles high in the mountains. This would be perfect in my mind.

As elated as I am to see the reappearance of vampirism in Skyrim, I too hope they do not go with the 'exact' same as in Oblivion, surely they won't however.

To those who might possibly remember, I highly preferred the clans in Morrowind and the mechanisms introduced with the mods Vampiric Embrace and Vampiric Hunger (+scripted spells) of course slapping on better textured vampire faces too.
All I am hoping for is that someone will make the same or something similar if possible for Skyrim (since I was disappointed with Oblivion and never seeing similar mods resurface)

Edit: Nice! /highfives I'mBatman ..that's an uncanny coincidence here! (didn't see your post)

dont worry the order vampires should not be in skyrim (the order is the vampies in cyrodill), we get to be the beastly volkhner

and the cyrodillic vampires (the order) get weaker becuase they made a pact with a deadric prince so they could blend in with humans at the cost of some of their abilitys

i cant wait till we get valenwood vampires, they sound like monsters

I like the underground politics and rules of vampires and don't mind having a few that have a high standing in society, but it needs an actual faction behind it or mutiple factions/clans.

Also feeding makes you weaker made no sense, and vampires looking like old people might have been in keeping with the whole undead thing but even the zombies skin wasn't that wrinkled.

Except they did get stronger. The Cyrodiil clan is the only Vampire clan that doesn't look like an ogre's behind and that is their true power.
Also, the reason they don't look terrible is because they made a deal with Clavicus Vile, and his deals always have downsides, that's why they get physically weaker when feeding.

That said, the wrinkles need to go.

I think they should have the ability to blend not to stick out much. Maybe Paler and red eyes.

Nah, but they should look terrifying.

I think you should only look your most deformed when you haven't had any blood. And, when you do drink, you look like a more healthy vampire. After all, you will have warm blood soaking through your dead veins, so regardless of lore, it would make the most sense. Interview With A Vampire was one of my favourite vampire movies, and it went along the same path, not that I was referencing it. I'm gonna save my vampire adventures for later on, though. If there's absolutely no means of traveling during daylight hours, I won't become one early on. I'd feel too restricted at the time. I can't imagine trying to beat a MQ, and have to scurry in doors until it's safe, lol. Maybe it'd be fun for some, but eeeeeeh.

Imo, the gay-ified twilight vampires are spookier than even the most feroucious Oblivion vampire.

I think there's better ways of visually indicating a vampire than wrinkles. Becoming immortal should mean slower aging, not faster.

Maybe varices on the neck and extremites unless the vampire is well fed, or maybe bruiselike mottling on various parts of the body.

Varices are basically blown veins, like with varicose veins.

Apparently there are twilight fans in Tamriel...Death to twilight. OMG you mean Vampires weren't pretty and where just like their mythological counterparts in the ancient, scary, and evil department? Last time I checked REAL vampires didn't [censored] glow in the sun nor did they sparkle and the only feeling they had was hungry, that's it, I for one hope they aren't pretty as that is just plain blaaaah. Give me 30 days of night any-day devs keep up the good vamp work.

Apparently Twilight is so much of a trend to make fun of, that it's the only thing referenced to when vampires are brought up.

There's been tons of really good vampire movies, with the vampires being sported as attractive. After all, they are nothing but a myth, so with that, of course there will be many variations that can be made of them. Jesus take the wheel for these people.

Yes, because young vampires were invented by Stephenie Meyer. Oh wait, no they weren't, they've been around for ages...

Why would immortals look old unless they were already old when they turned?

But yeah, referring to Twilight every time a convo about vampires comes up is just as lame as the movies/books were.

Is no one on here old enough to remember "Interview With A Vampire", or even Buffy? At least mentioning those would be a nice change.

Twilight haters are giving the books/movies just as much credit as the fans do.

I was kidding if you didnt know, my point is yes there have been tales of young vampires through out the ages, but the vampires of ancient lore in real life were monster's, not pretty flowers with feelings. If anything I want a vampire like Bram Strokers original story of Dracula you know, capable of shapeshifting, didnt need to stay inside during the daylight but was considerable weaker, had 2 forms, a human form frozen in time and a monstrous demonic form which is the face it wore when it fed. Do me a favor rent the movie and see it so you can understand. He wasnt an ugly bastard,(unless you count the first scene he is shown in) but he was a bad ass, hell his shadow tried to strangle keanu reaves XD(as have I many a time) Also yes I liked buffy and interview with a vampire, (the later was better) But how about Angel? That was a good one, 2 faces the human blending one and the feeding demon face which made em actually scary at times.

It's just another person on the Twilight Hate Train, wanting recognition for what they said. I like that you understand, too. Vampires don't have to be scary just from looks. If I met a real-life Edward from Stephanie's novels, I wouldn't be easy about it. Regardless of appearance, vampires will always be strong, immortal (sort of lol) and fast. People always refer to the Twilight Vampire's skin as 'sparkling' to make it seem whimpy. I would love to have skin made of diamonds. Do these people realise how hard diamonds are? :poke:
