Vampires!?!?!?

It would be cool to change into a ghoul if you absorb too much radiation.

This isn't Twilight: New Vegas.

Exactly.

Also, this isn't a Bethesda game, and if it's a Bethesdan tradition to include vampires even though they make no sense in context of the setting, I think it's a good thing that they aren't making it.

but those who want some "fantasy" creatures

In my day, we got deathclaws and by the Master, we liked them! None of this fantasy nonsense!

This is not twilight saga where vampires shine and are wimpy. It is better to have Lestat and mind powers........................
Back to the point I do not want a Twilight Saga New Vegas where you are a human Edward Cullen looking for Bella after Jacob shot you.
That might sell with the legions of Twilight chicks but this idea is absurd. This game is of violence mature content and survivalism. Plus the Enclave are better.

There's nothing wrong with vampiric mutants. The Bloodsvckers from STALKER are pretty cool, even though they are based on Illithids, which are based on Cthulhu.

Agreed, we need more Lovecraft in my Fallout.

vamps is only cool if they are real. and as long radiation doesnt do that it wont happen in fallout. just wait for next tes with your vamps.

and for every gamer that even know a scene from the movie twilight(which not only screwed the whole vampire idea but the word twilight aswell) is a homosixual.

"fantasy" creatures

Or how about http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_a0swvUsbmrs/six0nMmjGwI/AAAAAAAAAOg/WFdb8mk78p4/s400/SixShooterCOLOUR.jpg! I just got to have me one o' those, hyuk hyuk.

Seriously though, why don't we just leave the "fantasy fairyworld" nonsense out of this game.

Well if not a vampires, then i would atleast wat a werewolfs. Thats would be reasonable. Everyone gets opinion, people who dont like vampires wont get vampires, but those who want some "fantasy" creatures, they would then atleast get a werewolfs. :)

There are real world mental illnesses that cause a person to believe they are a werewolf, reacting during full moons, barking at dogs, etc.
Additionally, real 'werewolves' like the Mexican guy and his family who are near totally covered with hair, exist today.
I'd love to see somekind of encounter involving a wastelander who believes himself cursed with lycanthropy.

Oh please no furries in fallout, anything but that.

I know that the original developer's(Obsidian) are now making the game

Obsidian isn't the developer of the originals.

Anyway, I don't see why there should be vampires. The Family in Fallout 3 were just a bunch of crazy cannibals. Bethesda doesn't have to turn Fallout into TES.

I never said I wanted vampires from Oblivion. They could change them to fit the fallout universe, something similar to the Family in F3
and:
1. Cannibals are people who eat human flesh, not blood, flesh. Blood can't properly nourish a human being, but Vance drank blood and had no side effects(At least not that I'm aware of). Thus making him a Vampire, not a cannibal. Plus, they all had some sort of rage, which I don't think cannibalism can cause.
2. So alien's, androids, lasers makes sence yet vampires doesn't??

True, but most of the BIS and Troika guys landed in Obsidian when the studios closed. Most of the guys working on NV had a hand in the originals.

The Family was one of the many poor decisions made in Fo3 that are best never spoken of. :(

The entire concept of the Family was stupid.

Exactly. Superscience has been a part of Fallout since the cover art for the first game. Fantasy nonsense like vampires, werewolves, elves, or any other such crap isn't.

Also, a lot of people believe the aliens of MZ were a mistake too. :P

Wow, it's been awhile since the last Vampires thread. NO to Vampires but Yes to crazy cults that think they are. I don't want any "real Vampires" or any other super natural monsters. Crazys that think they are Vampires has been done so do we need another?

Incase your wondering here's the last Vampires threads ==> http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1086043-vampires-in/page__hl__Vampires.. The power of the forum search engine

Isn't that just unnecessery rehashing of the already a bit silly idea, though? And, what good does it make for them to be referred to as vampires when, in fact, they're not?

Why aren't cannibals enough? Must they have some sort of personality disorder/issue just for the sake of having a "fantasy horror" reference in a sci-fi game?

There was never a clear picture in mythology who Vampires really are. From one end you have daemons, from the other sick people. So the creatures\humans that we can call vampires are the ones that svck blood, and why they do it, you can create your own theory for that, so practically they can be translated into any Fiction.
But like I said, it wont ruin the game for me, if they don't have them.

That's what the Devs of Beth did with the Family. They came up with their own spin for Vampire for the DC wasteland. If you ask me Vampires had their moment in the Sun and we don't need to see anything like the family again...

I'm not talking about furries. Clinical Lycanthropy is a real mental illness covered in the DSM IV. Sufferers are so wrapped up in their delusion as to attempt living amongst wild dogs, feeling irresistable urges to act out during a full moon, even going do far in some cases as perpatrating violence on people. Many stories of 'werewolves' from our past are often considered examples of undiagnosed sufferers of clinical lycanthropy.
These are tragic victims, often blacking out during acts of werewolf violence and mayhem, waking up (like in the movies) with blood on their hands, or their clothes torn and missing, etc.
In fact, the mre I think of it, that'd be a rather cool companion: travels with you, but every once in a while, disappears during the night, only to return a day later naked and disoriented.

Hence where we get the term "Lunatics", along with the popular belief that the full moon induces madness in certain people.

I'm inclined to say "no" as Vampires appear to be a Bethesda Tradition. Granted, the Family was probably more for the fans of TES who are one of the major supporters of Bethesda and who, aside from FO fans, were most likely to pick it up. I don't mind Vampires/Cannibals-who-think-they're-vampires so long as they are a relatively minor part of the wasteland, but I don't see how they would be included with Obsidian making the game (who do not have the vampire "tradition" that Beth has.)

I think they would be cool to see. They could be like the Followers of the Apocalypse except less Mormon and more cannibal vampire. Vance seemed like someone that would want to spread his message, so it wouldn't be surprising if he sent out vampire missionaries. There's already a good chance that cannibals are still around, so there might as well be some converted cannibals.
