I just hope we retain the skills in human form like Daggerfall. I have reason to believe Hircine's hounds differe from the Tamriel's werewolves. They are unique.

I hope so. Hircine's hounds made, well, everything else in Tamriel barring gods/demigods, and perhaps the Skaal, look horribly weak in comparison. I understand the gameplay reasons behind this, and it was awesome... just slightly odd.

Getting deeper into the lycanthropic arc would be really nice, however, and would be a good retro reference back to Solstheim.

I agree...While in werewolf form in 'Morrowind' I was able to routinely put a quick smack-down on anyone who stood against me, barring the 'Tombs of Skalaara' quest...Those Nords just kept on a comin'...I always wait to finish the main quest first before I do the 'Bloodmoon' quests, so that I would have somewhat of a challenge when confronting Dagoth Ur...

I recall that in Daggerfall the player lost status in all guilds and hope if their in they bring that feature back. I also wonder if becoming a vampire will cut you off from contact with most NPC's like Morrowind.

I know that being a 'were' in 'Morrowind' didn't bar me from any of the guilds I was a part of...Other than people mentioning that I should get myself cured as soon as possible...

Personally I would rather see werebears, just for something different. Everyone and their mother has vampires and werewolves. I'm quite bored with both of them by now.

Interesting...Look it up and let me know...

The werewolves named 'Hircine's Hounds' are considered purely creatures by the game. They are separate from the wandering werewolves usually encountered, and yeah, they appear as Statues, something that I feel asks questions. But somehow all of them are Argonians...

Also, the werewolves from Hircine's realm can be just that. Pure werewolves with no human strain in them. While there can be pure-born werewolves in Nirn under a generational curse, the ones in Hircine's realm is simply not the case. Also, Skyrim seems a good place for both werewolves and vampires, since their respective patrons had set foot upon them and an event regarding both vampirism and Lycanthropy happened there. Maybe the first Lycanthrope was a hybrid mentioned?

Hircine: "Ever proud and boastful, Oblivion's Mad Prince stood one fifth day of mid year among the frigid peaks of Skyrim, and beckoned forth Hircine for parlay. The Huntsman God materialized"

Molag Bal: "Tamriel was still young, and filled with danger and wondrous magick when Bal walked in the aspect of a man and took a virgin, Lamae Beolfag, from the Nedic Peoples. Savage and loveless, Bal profaned her body, and her screams became the Shrieking Winds, which still haunt certain winding fjords of Skyrim.
"

"Hircine secretly bred an abomination in his hidden realm. An ancient Daedroth he summoned, and imbued it with the foul curse of lycanthropy. Of pitch heart and jagged fang, the unspeakable horror had no peer, even among the great hunters of Hircine's sphere."

After the abysmal lack of Were-lions in Oblivion I won't hold my breath. As for vampires, who knows. Maybe the Cyrrodilic blood line has spread in a hundred years. Who knows... Er, well who knows other than the devs...

I don't doubt it. They have a reputation for moving in and kicking the native blood-svcking population out. Or should I say exterminate them.

As far as Were-Lions are concerned...What are the Khajiit?

Oh...
What a perfect mixture of Man and Cat with his Cheshire grin....
Came to sup the night...
And take the moonlight in...
With fur of spots, stripes, as from an artist's pen...
Slowly...Surely...The Cat plunges fully the dagger in...
With moon now full and darkness thin...
Smiles wide at his grim handy-work...But then...
Blood-soaked this night...The moon gives light to sin...
Do revel and reveal the Cat and his Cheshire grin...

Eh. Personally werewolves and werebears and wereboars should be the only werecreatures in the Elder Scrolls. I never liked the idea of a wereshark

EDIT: If someone so dares as so mentioned Man-Bear pig nonsense. You will be warned.

Though I do love that episode of 'South Park' I agree with you on that W & V...Though I can only see werebears and werewolves in Skyrim...Where are these wereboars supposed to originate from?

Wereboars are rare. Only in High Rock. Werewolves are everywhere. I wouldn't doubt seeing some in the jungles of Valenwood.

All of the lore I can find agrees with you that those beasts are extremely rare...In fact...There was only one mentioned in 'Daggerfall'...I wouldn't mind a wereboar in the game if this were the case...

Yet again I must remind another. Werebeast are humanoid too. If someone infected with the Boar strain of Sanies Lupinus wanted to cross the border and live in Skyrim nothing would stop them. Thay are sentient and just as any Argonian can travel to and live in Skyrim and Wereboar or any other Werebeast could travel to and live in Valenwood or Vvardenfel or Highrock or Wherever they choose. Yes, lore says that Wereboars are found ALMOST exclusivly in Highrock and I have no doubt that they are the dominant Therianthrope in the region but you cannot absolve Humanoid choice and reason.
