Vampires & Werebeasts

Post » Tue Aug 24, 2010 10:29 pm

I think these are all great ideas...Though I don't know how the player (if stricken with lycanthropy) would deal with their own blood-guilt and sanity issues...

Like in Amnesia the Dark Descent? Your screen gets all shaky and you start seeing weird stuff. Should be annoying as hell, but that's the point since if you don't want it, you will have to kill people.
Yes, I'm cruel. ^_^

They only get the sanity issues when they don't kill people... Right?

@LunarWolf~ Oh, NP :)

@Werewolf&vampire~ AH! thank you for informing me of that, i like your idea, but i can't make myself kill poor insane hermits even if i knew they were evil, and this is coming from somone who killed almost every merchant in OB so everyone would be forced to by my trinkets at ridiculous prices.

I want to be a masochistic insane werewolf who is also a pacifist!

Now that would be cool...But I must admit I would love to see your character's very first transformation in bloody grim cut-scene detail in 1st or 3rd person view (or both)...
Depending on who you kill would then ascribe the sanity issues of the player...I certainly wouldn't feel bad about violently ripping apart tribes or small bands of reavers, marauders, or bandits...
Innocent children, npc's, villagers, family, would definitely wreak havok with my character's sanity levels though...

Meh. The food chain of the supernatural is simple. Villagers and people in general eat chicken, pork and beef. Werewolves eat people. Simple. Food chain.

Well, there could be an extra manner to do the quest. Wait until he resumes his humanity in the morning and confront him. Like some quests in Morrowind and Oblivion that gave you the option to bring something as "Proof" of the character's death. He can give you something to make everyone believe he died.

If he was crazy/super depressed, wouldn't it make more sense for you to have to snoop around his house for something? like finding the werewolf that bit him, and taking his head instead? i like your ideas a lot though!

Unfortunately my up-bringing does not allow me to share your view W & V, though I do see your point (even if grimly made)...
As far as my character's leanings...Those NPCs who do ill, commit acts of evil violent or otherwise against the good and pure shall come to know me well...
And dread fear shall enter their black hearts at the coming of the full moon...
The wolf that they have brought to their own doorstep through their bloody deeds will weigh and judge their hearts as they are ripped most violently from their chests...

Vampires ftw.

It was awesome fun to hunt Npc's in Oblivion, feeding at night. And the vampire mods out there really improved the experience dramatically.

Werewolves are cool, and I definitely want to see them in the game as well, but their potential is a bit shallow as far as mods go, imo.

Disagree respectfully...Cidd88's mod 'Curse of Hircine' and its later expansions have greatly contributed to my playing and enjoyment of Oblivion...
And I can't wait to see the volikhar, bust out my paddle, and deal out some serious spanking...

I confess that I haven't played that mod - so I could be mistaken. As for vampire mods, I loved the ones where you could become stronger over a long period of time if you consistently fed.

The ones that emulated the Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines game were the best, imo - thralls, awesome abilities, good progression.

Fingers crossed both super's are in the game - so I can hunt some lycans :flamethrower:

And lawl, speaking of both super's and mods - if both are included, there'll probably be a hybrid mod. That'd be interesting, at least.

That would be most enjoyable...(author carefully sands his paddle with care and love)

Lycanthrophes mainly because vampires can be modded in a WHOLE lot easier.

@above, I think someone said it was a mistake, the frost troll picture was labeled as were-yeti, but is not actually one.

Since I heard they were toying with limb dismemberment it got me thinking with that lycanthropy could be pretty sweet. Usually I'm not all that big on brutality but I can't help imagine what a gorefest it'd be to watch a were-beast rip apart a little demented bosmer.. or three.

Then you might have to get the PC version. But Bethesda is trying to make the user-created content available for PS3 and 360 users! Meaning they are trying to make mods available for those who ownes consoles.

Then get Hircine's ring. Lycanthropy is not controllable.

I think they won't add solstheim because we are already in Skyrim. But at least they can bring werewolves to Skyrim.

If I have to chose one, I'd pick werewolves. Vamps have just been so over done in games/movies/books/etc. I loved the whole werewolf background in MW-Bloodmoon.
