Vampires vs Werewolves DLC Idea.

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 7:11 pm

It seems like an unexplored part of the elder scrolls series but why not have a DLC with clans of vampires fighting clans of werewolves? I think it'd make for an interesting storyline and two new factions to join. You could also have the silver hand and "The order of the virtuous blood" join to try to whipe both out.

Thoughts?

I like it, but I think don't think they would be fighting each other it would be more like the werewolf and vampires fighting the other races. Maybe throw something in there where the vampires are trying to control the werewolves since they view them as wild beasts. I feel like werewolves would fight amongst each other rather than form clans, but since the Skyrim ones are different I guess they could and I like the idea.

No. It's been done too many times. And why the hell would they kill each other? They have no problems with each other, no blood feud or anothing. And Daedric Princes Molag and Hircine would never be fighting each other. Babette(Vampire girl) and Arbjorn(werewolf) got along just fine and they where in the Dark Brotherhood. Astrid even said people like werewolves and vampires were shunned and the DB accepted them as family. What I am saying is that vamps and weres have enough problems in ES lore. Vampires hate each other, they have wars against clans many times before. Werewolves deal with their own sanity and lust for blood. Both deal with evil "heroic" hunters trying to wipe them out because they believe them to be abominations.

My god man, there are 600 vampire vs werewolf movies and tv shows already. This is a dead topic. Been done to death already. I don't want it in my games too.

Okay well how about my second idea of the silver hand and the order of virtuous blood joining to fight the vamps and wolves i think that would make for a good add on

The only add-on I want to see if a proper chunky sized expansion with a decent plot. The silly little stuff I'd want for free.

Or is it?
I was putting a suggestion, but I think it should be werewolves vs werewolves and vampires vs vampires. Maybe getting help from the other and in return you help them in some way.

This. So, if the expansion was say, a visit to Hircine's Hunting Grounds I'd be all for it. Anything less than that and I'll find a mod to suit my needs. Also, the background for a vampire/werewolf conflict on the level of the Underworld movies isn't really feasible. Far as I can tell from lore vamps don't give half a [censored] about were's and vice versa.

I'd buy it. Could be interesting.

As for the "why", you could make up any sort of BS excuse. Look at modern (scratch that, almost any) religious conflicts - various religions claim that some area or object is their holy relic and they don't want to share it. Boom, warfare.

You could easily have some sort of scripture that details that origin of both vampires and werewolves, and the two factions are waging a secret war for it. And/or perhaps an artifact that allows the user to unlock the dark nature within him, unleashing some super werewolf or an insanely powerful bloody thirsty vampire (think Dracula's primal form in Van Hellsing).

To be honest though, the werewolf arc seems to be fairly resolved with the Companion's quests. I don't see any need to drag that out further.

Team Jacob

team lucien, a real lycan..um...in a manor of speaking

OT: the idea svcks, werebeats are not so unified and the order (cyrodillic vampires who seem to be in skyrim, even though all lore [even the disease] is aganst it) is not one for open war. btw The order of the virtuous blood was just 4 guys in their basemant who had a grudge aganst vampires and paid random people to kill them, not real vampire slayers (and they have ben dead for years).

werebeasts are rare, and they almost always hunt alone, only 2 packs have ever been recorded in the lore, and for the pack to have any ability to wage a battle aganst a single people they would need the ring of hircine and the wearer of the ring would have to have a grudge aganst vampires, ver unlikely terms i think (of course this is all from the actual lore, not skyrim)

I do think they could add more Vampire/Werewolf involvement in the game. I didn't really like the idea of becoming a Werewolf for the companions. They could've added two brand new questlines. An order of vampires and an order of werewolves.

The vampire/Werewolf feud is a bit tricky. you could say it began on a small scale with Dracula Vs. The Wolf Man films of Universal but it really only started to pick up with World of Darkness and Underworld. In the older stories Werewolves and vampires were often pretty much the same thing. in some legends werewolves even rose as vampires after death.

The Truetwiunderlightbloodworld dlc!!

If it has Kate Beckinsale doing backflips in a neoprene catsuit and the young red head vampire Jessica I'm in. The rest of it they can leave out.

How about a Fright Night dlc where one of the invulnerable kids in the game figures out your dark secret and attempts to kill you with the help of the town drunk?

Or the Buffy dlc where some snarky narcissistic teen snap kicks you thirty times every single day until you get sick of it and leave the realm?

Will you people stop posting [censored] and stupid DLC ideas, they are [censored] and pointless, they will just have mods for this, so why pay?

It's "unexplored" because there's nothing to explore. Werewolves exist. Vampires exist. They don't give two turds about each other any more than any other groups in TES (less than a lot of them). Having a Vamp Vs. Were scenario would be extremely forced just for the sake of having Vamps Vs. Weres so it's like underworld, twillight or whatever the heck else. It would actually tick me off quite a bit because it would feel too much like they just ripped off some other franchise so they can make money with minimal effort.

Not to mention there are so many other more interesting faction disputes they could make DLC around that actually have some basis to exist in the TES universe.

Vampires vs Werewolves - wouldn't spend a dime on something so annoyingly unoriginal.
