Van buren release

I think you're being rather snobbish to console gaming... Just because its on a TV where I can sit on my couch does not automatically make it an inferior, dumbed down experience. Just because a game is made in mind to hit multiple platforms, again, doesnt make it automatically dumbed down.

Actually, that is true. Games that that are on PC and consoles aren't usually "dumbed down". I guess this is due to the size of the console market, so the LCD for console gamers is going to be lower than it would be for PC gamers and the game gets changed accordingly. Take the Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six series. They've both become these "sploshun" driven games when their predecessors were anything but. Put that together with hardware and UI differences and often the game would seem to be too simplified.

I think you are naive, or you are letting your obvious dislike for this game take you down an argument path which won't help you.

Just in case, I'll offer this basic business concept: If a business does not generate sufficient profit for it's investors, nothing else matters. Further, it's not a given here that that FO3 is not a great game...many of us believe it is.

It's ok that you don't like the game, but perhaps you should not link your dislikes to your understanding of business.

I think his point was the focus being on the money rather than the quality. Quality can lead to profit, sure it might be less if you don't appeal to the average console tard, but that compromise is something you'll have to make.

Actually Bethesda very specifically said they wouldn't release someone else's unfinished code. Some Van Buren content has been released by other sources, but at the moment it doesn't sound like Bethesda has plans to release anything additional.

The above is the final word on the subject.

Spreading hoaxes to the contrary will be grounds for immediate suspension. Do not start another thread on the subject of any purported plans for release of the Van Buren code without the express permission of a moderator.
