Vanaheim Meadery and Restaurant
The next level of player owned businesses
===============
+++Description+++
===============
I've always wanted to have a mod in Skyrim, where I can create a steady income of gold without having to resort to killing of bad guys all the time. A mod where my decisions count short and long term, where actions have consequences, and the amount of planned decisions and the rate of success and profit are directly proportional. I wanted a business, where everything is dynamic, and where you can observe everything that's happening real time, and not by checking variables in the console, while at the same time I can find a way to use items that are present in the game, but serve no purpose. I wanted a mod that is visual, interactive, interesting and challenging at the same time, offering everyone an addictive and fun minigame of managing a restaurant and meadery. Thus, the idea of Vanaheim Meadery and Restaurant was born.
One of the mods that gave me most of my inspiration is katixas Ciderhouse Restaurant, which is actually compatible, and sitting right next to my own creation on the bank of the river flowing just east of Whiterun. The other really inspiring feature was actually taken from the new Sim City, that utilizes real time resource management between the entities in the game world which I plan to utilize in every aspect of the mod. This means that there's nothing there just for show. Everything will have a purpose.
The meadery and the restaurant will have several options to operate, depending on how much time you want to spend with working. It can either be operated completely by you, or by hiring a staff that actually carry resources from one place to another, and stop working if they run out of raw materials. There will be a supply chain system that you can use to eiter get resources yourself through manufaturing them on your farms, and apiaries, getting a workforce to grow them for you, manually shipping them from vendors throughout the land or asking your staff to order and ship them for your enterprise without having to move a muscle. Naturally growing your own stuff will result in far superior profits. Comfort as you no doubt know, has a sizable price tag.
I strive to create an environment where the player has the oportunity to turn a nice profit through making the right decisions, but they can also fail if they take the wrong turns. There is no randomity in these events, although some factors like hygene (or the lack of it actually) do increase the chance of failure, but more on that later.

+++ Currently Developed Features+++
===============================
-A mead brewery that allows players to ferment their own brand of mead from honey.
-A fermenting system that allows failures based on non-randomized calculations, so not all your meads will turn out well. You will have to take care with those ingredients or you might ruin your entire batch.
-There are currently more than a hundred variations of mead that can be created through mixing different ingredients, and aging.
-Every decision while brewing your mead will change what your it will taste like, what it will be worth, and what effects it will have.
-You will be able to sell the finished mead yourself, ship it to fulfill orders, serve it in your restaurant or just let it age to increase the value.
=====================
+++Planned Features+++
=====================
General:
-The more value you have piled up in your business, the higher the chance of thieves trying to break in. Watch out! They'll go for the good stuff.
-A reputation system which has an effect on who comes to your meadery, how steep your prices can go, and how likely it is that people will come at all.
-Dirt accumulation. If you don't clean, spider webs, spills and mud will appear all over the place. This will decrease your reputation.
-An interior and exterior upgrade system that will make a big difference in who visits your restaurant, and how high you can set your prices.
-Employable workforce (farmer, cook, servant, hunter, waiter, janitor, scribe etc.)who have their routine that's not just AI packages but actual resource relocation, cooking, brewing, real cleaning.
-A ledger for managing the entire business logs (not controlling the operations but checking on inventory movements, decisions, income and expenses, etc.) if you have a scribe who goes around the place and records everything he finds once each day.
-Hygiene system that affects reputation, and could ruin your whole batches of mead.
The Restaurant:
-The restaurant will use actual misc items that you will have to get from merchants or have them made by a potter or a smith to unlock certain features, and to operate the business. Since we do not serve food without plates and cutlery in a restaurant, right?
-The furniture in the restaurant will have to be ordered from a carpenter, who will make them using supplied materials (cheaper) or by getting them himself (more expensive).
-A servant (or you) will use a machine for cleaning plates, goblets and cutlery to increase hygiene and reputation.
The Meadery:
-A mead recipebook that you will have to find by the means of a quest.
-A beefarm for making your own honey.
-A farm used for providing raw vegetables, fruit and meat to your restaurant.
-Farmers for hire that (if employed) actually plant and harvest resources that your restaurant needs.
-Honey variants to allow even more mead variants.
-Honey vendors in different regions of Skyrim that produce characteristic honeys of their own holds.
-Food vendors for ordering everything for your restaurant.
-Bacterial and fungal diseases of the mead that can be averted by proper hygiene.
