Vanilla game w/ Honest Hearts crashes after intro video

As per the title, game crashes without fail right after the video about the burned man. There is a brief moment of the scenery loading on the other side of the passage before it CTD's.

I was running with mods but because of this, and just having bought both DLC's, I have done a fresh install via disk with Steam DLC install and game updates, and a game cache verification.

So now with no mods installed and a new character created I find the exact same thing happens. So now I'm stumped.

Prior to trying to start Honest Hearts I had not experienced a single crash in about 10 hours of play (which is a first), also I have avoided initiating any quests except for a Sheriff for Primm as I inadvertently freed the deputy.

The only other thing that might be worth mentioning is that I run this on Win 7 x64 Ultimate (fallout.ini is altered for the multicore fix, but that's it).

to recap:

Clean install

No mods

New Character created

Same crash

Out of ideas

Bummed.

Anyone have any ideas beyond what I have already done please?

This is way passed annoying. :banghead:

This is the same thing I'm going though! I have tried turning the graphic all the way down and everything else and nothing it crashes right after the video goes off. I see some of the land and then it crashes! This is BS I can't play this dlc but yet I can't get my money back! Grrr anyone know a work around?
