Vanity Pets one use only? This is gonna cause problems.

This is an interesting point, and they do say:

What should I do if I accidentally sell/delete my digital items from the Explorer’s Pack or Imperial Edition?

Updated 01/30/2014 06:18 PM Published 01/23/2014 04:42 PM

Items granted in this manner are protected. While players can delete them, they will have to take extra steps ensuring their intentions. If they do accidentally sell or delete their digital items, players should contact our dedicated http://help.elderscrollsonline.com/ team.

Does this relate to selling to an npc or will selling to a player be possible? If you can sell them to a player it makes sense that they are limited to one per account and once sold that's it, you've lost your pet. Otherwise you could create and sell an infinite number by making new characters.

Actually, they did say you get 8 characterslots:

When I play a game, I like to experience every facet of it. I try to go everywhere and try everything I can get my hands on in search of, well, fun. But I also like to specialize and explore a skill/weapon/class thoroughly. How many characters will I be able to make in ESO? Will it be enough to try it all?

You'll have eight character slots available to you, which will give you opportunities to explore the game and create a wide variety of characters specializing in all sorts of different skill lines. Combine this with the fact that each character can explore all three alliance territories, participate in PvP in Cyrodiil, and earn tons of skill points through leveling, questing, and exploration (which you can choose to re-allocate for a cost in gold), and you'll have an enormous amount of room to experiment and get the most out of your journeys in Tamriel.

How long does a mial message last in ESO? In RIFT, if one mail a message, it will last 29 days before auto-delete. If ESO does NOT have an auto-delete day timer like RIFT has, I just email my self the pet and store it there instead of my bags or bank -- thus save slot space. I have mix feelings about pets -- on one paw they can be a good RP tool and other paw, they are kinda useless also.

In RIFT the official emails last forever, it's just the mails players send that last 29 days then get returned to sender. You can keep pets and mounts in RIFT's mailbox infinitely if you like.

Also you can't send mail to yourself or your alts in ESO. Once you take that pet out you're stuck with it taking up your bag space.

Thats just silly - how about devs putting proper "pets tab" into the game?

And bound CE and prepurchase pets to account not to characters?

I used to think its kind of standard in MMO world these days

Except ton of folks get 2 diffrent pets right on the start (mudcrab and scutller). And these are collectors items - so you also going to find some "normal quality" pets, not so far from the straing islands

I wasn't sure; I missed that apparently. I know how many are available in the beta now, but not whether it was final or not. And those slots being available is why I didn't get enough gold to buy a horse..... But I had fun making characters.

I have 7507850 pets on multiple characters in SWTOR

they are highly overated, tend to be forgettable, hardly noticed and provide much screen clutter

In hard mode dungeons (ops) we sometimes will ban their use in the raid to aid clarity and focus.

once again this is not a big deal.

I believe I also read that there is a limited number of mail "slots" so if you left your pet in the email it would clog up one of your (apparently severely limited) mail slots. I'm quite stunned about this one-per-account thing; almost every 'modern' MMO lets every character get the item, which is then NOT trade-able (so as to avoid creating a character, getting the item, selling it, deleting character and making another, etc).

Yeah for real, why isn't there a pet tab and mount tab like every other game out there? Pets in inventory is like vanilla wow status

Oh yay, another stupid and annoying limitation to make us feel like we're playing a f2p game, wtf.

K gonna delete pet and then any time I feel like it will annoy the customer service for another, seeing as I "accidentally" deleted my stupid pet.

It's in the Ask us Anything #13 from about an hour ago :)

The only reason I had a horse in the beta was the 100 gp imperial one. Creating characters is quite fun (even though it was to test an exploit a few times). I love the character generator.

Pardonez moi. ZOS. The post was sarcasm, and beta or not, I count at least 3 bag space threads with beta feedback that can't currently be left on official beta forums.

It's a relevant topic/complaint.

It baffles me that anyone really cares about them. I will probably never take mine out of the email. I will have a scamp to play with. A scamp that shoots lightning then bites you on the face.

Forget the vanity pets. Vote Scamp

Who needs a "good night teddy bear" for your kids when one has Scamp for them, right?

I vote for any deleted characters's items be accessible by speaking to a priest in any temple of Arkay. Ask for belongings from relatives, and here are your items. BoA items should be held for life, normal items should be cast away after a week or so.

Well thing is someone up there^ just said our mailbox is severely limited in space as well as our bag/bank, so leaving the stupid pet in your mailbox will clog the mailbox up and at some point even possibly stop others from sending mail to you.

Delete email then or shove it onto a mule alt (alts created to stand at a bank and hold stuff) :intergalactic:

I like this idea :icecream:

Original WoW was much the same. They sat in your bank for years. Though, a clever person could leave them on a character they transfered to a new account. They later changed the item to dissappear on use and added a whole new tab/system just for pet management.

As it is, I'll probably make an alt to hold them. John McPackRat.

Does anyone know whether these pets will be account bound or merely linked to an account and freely tradeable with other players. Making them tradeable (which I actually like the idea of) would make the system they have in place now the only logical way to do it.

It is. I have no issue with it. I'm just very tired of seeing people blaming or praising Bethesda for making ESO. Or destroying it, when it is a feature or decision they don't like.

I didn't think I'd need more bag space than I started with, then I found I did, so I'm in the same boat as the people who want more space available. I hope they do work something out that we can find in the next beta.
