12.7 variant sniper rifle?

I know it might be stupid to think a round of this size could do a reliable job but if it did get added it would make a 12.7 weapon system complete instead of just mediocre* hell youd make all the hardcoe players jump in glee

What's the point? The 12.7 mm round in FO is a pistol round. If you want a rifle round, you go with a .50 MG round. It's t he same diameter with a bigger punch.

That means the Survivalist Rifle is a .50 cal assault rifle. Which makes no sense to me.

Another 'Survivalist's Rifle' with a scope would be nice...Slightly redundant as that weapon already has one of the best set of iron sights in the game.

It is. 12.7 mm = 0.5" or .50 cal. So you could say the anti-material rifle fires a 12.7x99mm round.

There is a huge difference between a .50 BMG (12.7x99mm) round that the AMR uses and a .50 AE (12.7×33mm) round that the 12.7mm round in the game is.

The ".50" refers only to the diameter of the barrel bore and bullet. A 12.7mm bullet, despite being the same caliber as a .50 MG, is NOT the same round in the slightest.

I scratched my head at the caliber for the Survivalist's Rifle too... :shrug:

you fire a pistol with a 50 cal MG round your wrist is done :P-but honestly i would like a full on specific bullet weapon system like 308 has this machine-sniper only thing missing would be a side arm but thats sorta improbable.But yeah.Mako ill pay you 2000 bottle caps to go on a very dangerous mission-i know talon company does anything for a cap.Go on the journey to make me a delicious pulled pork samwich with cole slaw and steak fries and if you bring it still warm ill give ya 500 extra ^_^ .But honestly i miss talon company random encounters====

The Survivalist's Rifle is the Fallout world's version of the .50 Beowulf AR-15 conversion. It's actually used today, though not in huge amounts, by checkpoint guards. The heaver round has reliable ballistics in going through things like car doors without being hindered, but trades in range.

Why even make another .50 BMG sniper rifle? The Anti-materiel rifle's not even for shooting people with. It was designed for snipers to poke holes into things that break down easily when big holes are put in them, like computer servers, vehicles, or other sensitive electronics, like, say, missiles. Personally, I'm not sure we need another sniper rifle. We have the Varmit Rifle (with night scope), the Hunting Rifle (with scope), the Marksman Carbine, the actual Sniper Rifle, and the Anti-Materiel Rifle. All have roles they're suited for.

It's a .50ae rifle, they got the idea from the Beowulf.

Logically, .308 does everything 12.7mm will do against people/most critters, with added range and armor piercing ability (range not being important in Vegas), plus a similar rarity of ammunition. Other than personal preference, it'd be superfluous to add such (though easy to add in, I admit).

It is not the 12.7 the Russians put on tanks. Its like the .50 the DE shoots, wny would we want a sniper rifle that shoots rounds that are not for a long range weapon?
