VATS Bug after patch

Post » Tue Nov 10, 2009 10:34 am

Since the new patch for FNV every time when I load my gamesave (lvl17, 20hours played, many quests finished) my xbox 360 will frozen when I target an enemy or something with VATS. I dispatched FNV and it works but I can't play online. WHAT'S THE REASON FOR THIS BUG ??????? :brokencomputer:

Same problem here.

After the patch the game is freezing whenever I want to open VATS, fast travel or when I go a certain way in any direction.

I even tried to load another savegame, the problemen is still there. It's unplayable, everytime I do some of the actions above, game is freezing and I need to turn off the XBox.

Temporary problem solution:

If you have a memory card, copy your gamer profile and a savegame to your memory card -> turn off xbox -> remove HD -> start again and play fallout trough the savegame on the memory card (of course without updating it again). Now it works again, so the problems are definitely from the update.

*edit*

haven't tought of clearing the system cache (removing updates) of the HD, its of course the faster and easier solution

Good lol. I'm glad I'm not the only one with this bug, it means Obsidian have to fix this bug since it's affected so many gamers.

I can't use VATS either. Everytime I use it, the game freezes. I've gone a couple of hours into the game now without using VATS and it can be annoying. Before the patch things were running smooth but now it's all f*&^ed.

Hopefully they'll fix this bug since one of it's main features can't be used in the game.

So when is the fix for the "fix" coming out?

Seriously, how do you break things that were generally working fine in a patch and still manage not to address the game breakers like corrupt save files?

Yep. Same problem here. I'm gonna go kick my boyfriend off the Xbox (same one I use and it works fine on his profile after the patch...) and see if that clearing the cache thing will work for me! I really really want to play and am so jealous that my boyfriend gets to play just fine!!!! haha

Eh... I'm not going to clear the cache. That'd ruin the updates for the other games I have on there... and I don't want to have to download those again... just so Fallout: NV works. I'll just have to wait this one out I guess. If only they didn't release that patch right before the weekend... *sigh*

I don't get freezing in vats, but I barely do any damage in it now, heh.

Same problem here. Downloaded the patch and had my 360 freeze up 3 times when I tried to access VATS.

update: I decided to play without VATS. Of course, when I tried to fast travel to the Mojave Outpost, it froze. I restarted and made the trek on foot, only to have my 360 freeze on the way up the hill to the Outpost...

I hadn't had any major problems before the patch, just some random glitches. Now the game is unplayable. Nice...
