VATS + Companion Commands?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 12:21 am

Just now I was thinking, since you can give commands to companion during real time( or at least dogmeat ), why not integrate it with VATS? For example ask companion attack other enemy without costing AP, ask companion to retreat before you shoot mini nuke, I thinks this will makes VATS become even more interesting.

I hope Bethesda already done similar things in the new VATS.

Considering that they've made VATS less paused and more bullet-timey? So that stuff is still moving, but slowly, while you make your choices? Adding stuff like companion commands onto the top of that seems like it would be very unwieldy.

Not just unwieldy, but ffs its an actionrpg, not a tactical game.

Telling a companion to back off is just something useful to be able to do.

Using tactics doesn't make it a "tactical game"; its not suddenly an RTS because you yelled RUN!

That would be cool...

I never liked loosing someone to friendly fire.

How is 'run away' any different from 'attack my target' or 'suppress that guy'?
