So I'm about 20 hours into my third fallout play through and I really don't want to lose that drive to play as I did in my previous saves. Everything was going fine, although the game felt a little buggier than my other two saves. I was progressing through the main story, which (minor spoiler) led me into vault 81. I opened the vault and everything was looking fine, until half-way in I realized I couldn't enter vats. I figured it was some kind of bug that would go away if I restarted my console, so I progressed nonetheless.
It wasn't until the next day that I returned to find out this was still an issue. The only thing I could think of was when I opened the vault, I accidentally pressed A to open it again, whilst it was already doing so. This resulted in an odd bug where I pretty much did the same animation, but it didn't cause any immediate alarm so I shrugged it off. I then realized that this is a pretty big problem for me, so I thought to revert back to an old save. Unfortunately, the last save I had was when I was leaving Vault 81 and the other was 12 hours back, so I was out of luck.
This has led me to search for any similar glitches occurring to anyone else, but everyone else's problems seemed to occur from PC where they just couldn't open the vault, so not under my category. I've tried searching for my own solution, whether it be trying to open all vault doors, or entering a cut scene where vats is disabled, hoping for the function to reset upon leaving. Of course, none of these have worked, leaving me stuck without a clue of what to do next. If I were to restart, Id most likely take another huge break so I don't burn myself out, but I would really hate to do so.
Any help would be much appreciated and I'm open to try any recommendations that anyone has to offer, thanks for your time.
