Vault 110 - Part 2

Harley and Kate quickly became bored of the silence of the house. Other than the sound of them talking, it was so silent it was creepy. When they first searched the house, there was an old radio and an old HAM radio. The radio was in the kitchen, they didn't take much notice of it when they saw it because they didn't think it would still be functional. And the HAM radio was on the desk in the main bedroom, which they hadn't taken much notice of either.

After they discovered the taps where running, Kate had an idea.

"Hey, if the taps are working, maybe the power lines in the ground are still live?" Kate said to Harley. At that, Harley jumped off the couch and ran into the kitchen to grab the radio, and brought it into the lounge and put it on the coffee table.

They knew the house lights didn't work because all the bulbs were either missing or burnt out, but maybe the power was still running. He plugged the radio cord into an old dirty socket, and turned the radio on. Nothing. Not even static. Still hopeful, he unplugged it and put the cord into the next socket and turned on the radio.

They were greeted by the beautiful sound of static. The radio worked, but now they had to tune it to any station that may be transmitting, if there was any. Soon enough they were turning the tuning dial and heard a rather strange voice. The man on the radio sounded very cheery for someone in the wasteland.

After listening in for a while they learned this was 'Three dog', he was the Dj for one of the few radio stations on the air, called 'Galaxy News Radio' or 'GNR'. This station played a nice selection of music as well. That would keep them from going insane.

Harley and Kate talked with the music going, about what they would do next. They had come to a decision that tomorrow Harley would go out and take a look around the area, to see what was around the suburb, and then see if that HAM radio in the bedroom still functions. With any luck, they could use the HAM radio to get in contact with some of the outside world, and maybe try to learn a bit about any towns or settlements.

But for now, they just lay on the couch and listened to the music on the radio.

It was beginning to get dark so Jonathan decided it was time to head back.

Jonathan sighed, "Marcus cut the transmission."

"Okay."

Sheena was asleep due t the pretty uneventful day. They killed a few mole rats and put them in the back for food, and some raiders came after hearing the transmission. They took a few supplies from the raiders notably some stimpaks and some fingerless gloves that Jonathan was now wearing.

The drive back was also uneventful and boring so Marcus decided to turn on the radio to galaxy news. The songs did make the trip better but Jonathan was going to come back out the next day to try again.

Once they got to the bunker they put the car away and went to sleep.

OOC: Short post due to me just waking up :P

"Stop playing the same song!" Paul yelled at no one. He was in a small town called Pines Valley. He had been listening to Galaxy News Radio for hours waiting for other citizens to wake up. He couldn't sleep that night. Who could after what had happened yesterday. Mary woke up, and walked outside with a man and a woman following her. "Hello Paul," she said, "this is Robbie and Lizzie." "Hello, I'm Paul," Paul said sending out his hand. Robbie said, "My dumb ass sister wants to give you a tour, so," he looked around the huts, "That is the living station, Joe and Gretta are in there. That's the farm and that's are comms facility, and library." "Oh, I love libraries," Paul said walking towards the "comms facility".

Hoover was moaning in pain all night long. The radroaches had bitten Hoover at the throat,as it was his only exposed skin. And now he was dieing.

Nikolai gave him a stimpack, and got more fuel for the fire to keep the radroaches away for the rest of the night. Unfortunatly,Nikolai was no doctor, and without one,Hoover wasn't going to make it. That morning,Hoover left Nikolai behind. Now only one vault dweller remained, all alone in this frightning world.By noon, all that was left at the pond was a grave with a vault security helmet as a marker.

Nikolai had cleaned several days worth of water for the journey ahead.

After Max had straightened out in his mind what exactly the actions were he was going to take to unite Vault One-Ten and to develop their new home, he decided to tidy his office.

A while later Ashley woke up feeling alot better and Max noticed, "Hey champ! How you feelin?" Max said sitting next to his son. "I'm really hungry!" Ashley said with a glint in his eye. Max laughed. The way to Ashley's heart was through his stomach... "Pop downstairs and find Aunty Sarah, she's cooking up a storm for us right now!" Max said before kissing him on the top of the head and then Ashley ran down the stairs, his feet clanking under each step as he went down the metal staircase...

Max continued to tidy his office. After he was done he muttered "Mmm, very professional!" with a smile, standing back and admiring his work. His office looked great! Filing cabinets, organised draws... Apart from the grime that had developed over time, it looked great! Maybe one day he could redo the walls and carpet but he very much doubted it. After all, where was he going to get a new carpet?

There was a radio in the corner. Max decided that with the help of Steven, he was going to record a message and put it on loop to reach out to any of the surviving Vault One Ten dwellers...if any of them were still alive of course... to let them know that they weren't alone, that there was still hope, and that they could be reunited very soon...

"My name is Max Strive. I am a survivor of Vault One-Ten. I am broadcasting on all frequencies. I will be North, North-East from Vault One-Ten in a group of abandoned houses everyday at mid-day, when the sun is highest in the sky. If you are out there? if anyone is out there? I can provide food, I can provide shelter, I can provide security. If there's anybody out there? anybody? please. You are not alone. There is still hope..."

Max knew that this would attract alot of unwanted guests but the rally point was a considerable distance away from the quarry so they wouldn't find it. If he got there early enough and conceiled himself well, He would be able to remain hidden and everything would be ok...

After the message was recorded, he got ready, put his hood up, grabbed his hunting rifle and checked his watch. The time was 10:30am. He took some provisions, hugged Ashley, Steven and Sarah goodbye, and went out for his first of many, risky journeys to find more Vault One Ten dwellers...

Mean while Ashley helped Sarah cook and organise the kitchen... They were doing a great job

(A free Vault One-Ten mug if you can guess the quote :):):))

Harley had become bored after Kate had fallen asleep on the couch, so he decided to go upstairs and take a look at the HAM radio in the bedroom. He took his toolkit upstairs and sat at the desk with the radio on it. Opening the back of it was easy, but when he looked in to see all the wires he was a bit sad. None of the wiring seemed to be damaged so if it didn't work there wouldn't be a simple fix, like a cut wire.

He closed the back and turned the radio around and picked up the microphone off the floor. he saw that it was already plugged in so he held his breath and flicked the switch. Surprised as he was to hear static, he let out a loud "Yesss!", and started fiddling with the dial.

Kate woke up from his loud "Yesss!" and came upstairs to see what was going on. She was equally surprised to see it was working, she sat next to him as he looked for any radio signals.

And then the static stop. Harley's heart raced as the radio started talking "My name is Max Strive.

"Holy crap!" Harley yelled, "thats Max, oh my god Max! Oh my god, holy crap!" And then he realized something, "Group of houses? Thats where we are! Oh god no, Max, no".

Harley had failed to realized the obvious, that this meant that they could see their friends by simply stepping out of the house. He was thinking about if other, hostile people would hear this, and come here.

"Harley you big dummy!" Kate excitedly said, prodding him in the arm, "This is great, we can see him when he comes at midday, and all we have to do is wait in here, and at midday tomorrow we will go outside and he'll be there".

"Oh, I see, oh yes this is great!" Harley replied, now excited himself. "I'll move the radio downstairs, oh and we could talk to him on the radio, if he's sitting near it".

They took the HAM radio downstairs and put it on the coffee table next to the other radio, and sat on the couch after Harley pushed the old fridge in front of the house door, something he had been meaning to do since they got there.

Harley picked up the microphone and pushed in the button, "Max! Max? Are you out there?....If you are I just wanted to say that me and Kate are in one of those houses, and will see you at midday!" He put the mic down and they relaxed on the couch listening to the music, knowing that they would soon see their friends again.

Jonathan was just waking up and noticed he was the only one sleeping. Sheena and Marcus were huddled over the radio. Jonathan tried to make as little noise as possible. He got up put on his boots and gloves, picked up his rifle and walked over to where they were.

"What are you guys listening to?"

"Ahh, You scared me!" said Sheena while softly hitting him on the chest. "Don't do that, what if I had a gun in my hand."

"Sorry, anyway like I said what are you listening to."

"Marcus turned away from the radio to face Jonathan. "I guess it's one of your friends. His name is Max and he says he'll be North East from the vault entrance."

"Good lets go!"

"He said at noon."

"Well we can wait there, lets take some food, water and ammo."

They quickly took anything the might need like a few stimpaks, mole rat meat, some purified water and ammo for each of their guns. Jonathan was about head out of the door when Marcus heard some talking outside.

"Wait, I hear something."

Jonathan refrained from opening the door. "What is it?"

"Just wait in here i'll go see what it is."

Marcus slowly opened the door and stepped outside. Jonathan walked over to one of the bunkers openings to look outside. There were a few people out there that looked like raiders. The one with the most armor and weapons spoke up, he was obviously the leader.

"Marcus, Marcus, Marcus, You think you can betray us and we would forget about it."

"How did you find me Cole?"

"It wasn't that hard. We just looked around."

"What do you want?"

"We want you dead for killing the old leader and deserting us."

They kicked Marcus until he was on his knees and put a gun to his head. Jonathan grabbed his rifle and stuck it out if the small window. "Sheena when I say now shoot the one that has the gun to Marcus's head."

"Okay."

They both aimed at the leader and Jonathan screamed. "NOW!" They both fired before the raiders could even turn to look where the sound came from. two bullets hit the leader, one on the neck even though Jonathan was aiming at his chest and the other hit his arm but Sheena was aiming at his head but due to shaking the gun moved right before she shot. While the leader was on the ground bleeding to death Marcus began to run back inside. Jonathan and Sheena kept on firing while the confused raiders were randomly shooting around trying to pinpoint where the shot were coming from. Marcus grabbed an assault rifle from the armory and joined also began shooting at the confused raiders. They found out from exactly which window the shots were coming from and began to fire at it. Marcus took a grenade and threw it at them killing the last ones off.

Jonathan turned towards Marcus, his heart pumping vigorously. "What was that!"

"My old raider squad."

"You were a raider?!"

"Yes."

Jonathan began to calm down, "People can change right?" "Okay but now you've changed right?"

"Yeah, I never liked all the killing and stealing. I just did it to survive." Marcus sounded sad though it was hard to tell in his raspy voice.

"Fine lets go."

Jonathan took ammo from and weapons from the raiders threw them in the Buggie in and drove to the location Max described. Now it was time to wait...

OOC: Strive2b,you took that qoute straight out of I Am Legend,it was Will Smith's radio transmission! When can I expect that mug, :biglaugh: !

IC: Nikolai took a close look at his grime covered pip-boy screen, hoping to get his barrings. "Okay I've been traveling northwest this whole time, and haven't found a goddam thing."In the distance he saw a tall hill that would give him a good look of whats around here. Hopefully it would give him clues of where to go next.

The climb was grueling. His fingernails cracked as they scraqed on the rocky surface. Nikolai only hoped that the way down would be easier than this. He reached the top covered in sweat, and gasping for air. These last few days he has worked his body harder than it has ever been before, and the crappy food and water wasn't exactly helping him keep up his strength.

At the top,Nikolai scanned the horizon. There was still no sign of civilization. Nikolai had dismissed the thought of checking the radio for some time. Up till now, doubting there was any working technology in this post-nuclear world. But at this higher elevation,he might pick up weaker signals,if any were out there at all. "What the hell,I got noyhing to lose",he said as he started playing with the dial.

To his amazement,he picked up three radio signals on his pip-boy. The first two were of course GNR and Enclave Radio, but the third was a much weaker signal that must have had shorter range. Listening closely,Nikolai could make out some parts of a garbbled message. "broadcasting on all *static*-quencies*static*I can*static*-vide food,I can provide shelter,I can provide*static*....". After that,he couldn't get the signal back.

"Provide food and shelter huh...",Nikolai thought to himself. The signal's origin was to the east. Judging how weak it was,it would be a long while before reaching it. Nikolai looked in his bag,and guessed he had enough water for one more day,two if he drank very sparingly. After thinking carefully,he decided it would be too risky. There might not even be anything there anymore.

With no other sign of civilization,Nikolai decided to let his knowledge of nature influence his decision. In all his time out here,he has yet to see a living plant...But the dried up shrubs tended to be around sources of water, even if it was irradiated. And where there was water, there were animals, and animals meant food. Something he really needed soon. To the Southwest, the horizon showed clusters of dried up shrubbery, while every other direction showed more completely barren wasteland.

After making his way down the rocky hill,Nikolai walked with the wind behind his back to the southwest. His pip-boy losing the third radio signal bit by bit, until it lost it completely...

OOC: Looks like I wont be hooking up with you guys for quite awhile. Hope I see you again. LOL

OOC: Aww, scholar got the mug first.

Steven had stood up and calmed down before Max hugged him good bye. "Hey Max! Wait up a sec, I'm coming with you." Steven called. He picked up his Beretta from it's resting place on the panel and gave it a once-over. The slide was loose, but that could be fixed. He ran after Max, but passed through the garage. An old motorcycle leaned against the wall, missing a gas tank, brake and a spark plug. A spark plug could be made, a gas tank could be welded together, and Steven might be able to find a handbrake. He then decided to catch up with Max and head to the houses.

Ryan awoke several hours later. He looked around. He could see almost everything up here. Out in the distance he could see two figures walking away from New Haven. Ryan took no note of it and returned to his med bay. No one was there, so ryan took out his new long knife and began to practice with it. He lunged and stabbed and slashed invisible enemies that were invating his new home.. Ryan never thought he would need such skills.

Sweat began to pour down Caine's face as he held the rifle firmly in his hands, peering through the scope and trying to control his breathing all at once. It didn't take long for both of the targets, a woman by the name of Joan Lecure and a man named Jackson Bridges to come into his sights. They had the unfortunate mistake of making enemies with a client of the Talon Mercs. They sent Caine out on the mission because it was relatively easy and straightforward. Kill the woman, kill the man and kill everything else around them. The woman walked down stairs and the man remained, apparently playing with a pet of some sort.

Eventually the man had crossed into the cross hairs of Caine's scope and sat there, apparently busy with something in the upper level of they're two story house. Caine took one more deep breath and started to squeeze the trigger, exhaling as he fired the shot. At first he saw the glass of the window he was aiming through shatter, then the mans brains splatter onto the remaining class. Because the round broke the sound barrier he heard the gunshot a second after seeing the man go down.

Just as he thought the woman came running up stairs to see what had happened as he calmly slid the bolt back and discarded the spent shell, refocusing the scope on his new target. He fired another shot, this one only grazing the woman's neck and causing her to bleed out slowly. Caine was about to disassemble the rifle and return back to base for his payment when he saw what Jackson was distracted with; a small child of around 4. Caine cursed under his breath as he spotted the boy. He could kill a thousand old woman, bludgeon a million old men but a little kid would put a black mark on his soul for the remainder of his life.

He shook off all thoughts of the remorse he'd feel for striking down the boy and gripped the trigger once more, leveling the cross hairs on the boys head this time. He'd be damn sure to make it quick and painless, not cause the boy to choke on his own blood like his mother had from a hit to the carotid.

A single gunshot could be heard as all life in the household had ceased, Caine's first mission completed. He disassembled the rifle on auto-pilot, the image of the damage done to the boy stuck in his mind. He began walking back to the Talon Company base when he realized he'd started crying, feeling a single warm tear dripping down the left side of his face. He quickly wipe the tear away and hardened his heart. There'd be much more of this to come, and if he started to get soft now he wouldn't make it through the week.

Nikolai was forcing down the last bit of the dry grass stew he made while listening to GNR. He had barely seen any new animal life since he started following the trail of grass. The only thing he saw was a small pack of molerats drinking from a small puddle of water. Nikolai decided not to shoot them because they didn't attack, and for the fact he was grateful to see something else alive out here.

After putting back the leftover "broth" into his canteen,Nikolai got back on the trail. It was an uneventful walk for most of the day until Nikolai heard something interesting on GNR. Usually Nikolai would just half-listen to GNR,the music got repetitive real fast, but in this particular news update Nikolai thought he heard something about a vault.

"Alright, alright, listen to this children. Today Three Dog has a scrap of news out of the rocky road of the north. Apparently, some of the good folks up there have reported seeing some wierdos dressed in blue, tripping around all over the waste like three-legged brahmin. From their description given in the reports,Three Dogs got to say these poor shmucks are vault dwellers. For all you children bringing up a blank when you hear vault, they're these rusty metal towns that are,get this, underground! Most of them are empty, but as shown by the ever so mysterious Vault 101,there are still people living in some of them! Now these folks have never been in our depressing piece of hell before, and tend to drop dead before day 1 in the wastes. Which reminds me.If any of you poor souls are listening, consider this your welcome to the wasteland, and stay tuned. Some of the crap you hear me say might keep you going to day 2,if your lucky. Just keep your heads down, and let old Three Dog give you some sweet music to pass the time..."

As GNR went back to playing its old tired tunes,Nikolai began hysterically laughing. Maybe he was cracking ftom the stress, maybe he thought it was funny that Vault 110 already made a splash out here, but whatever the reason,Nikolai had to get ready for day 4 in the wasteland.

He heard some feet running and then a young voice call out to him as he headed out through the gates. "Max!...*pff* Max! *pff*... Can I come with you?" to which Max replied "Sure you can, let's go" with a smile...

It took them roughly 30minutes to get to the houses, by this time it was 11am... They set up shop about a few clicks away from the abandoned houses on a hill, so they could see anyone that approached the ruins, but were concealed enough so that they wouldn't be seen if trouble arrived...

They waited and waited for signs of life... Max wondered if his plan would actually work... Could he reunite all the lost souls of Vault One-Ten? Would his premonition come true? Only time would tell...

Max sat with his hood up and his goggles on, with his hunting rifle poised, waiting... They would wait till 1pm, thats an hour either side of the meeting time, and then they would head back, only to come back again tomorrow...

Jonathan shut the engine off and sat next to one of the shacks. He was throwing rocks due to boredom when Sheena came down and sat down next to him. "You sure Max is coming?"

"Why wouldn't he."

"Yeah you're right."

Marcus came over to them and lit a cigarette. "Want one?"

"Nope, I don't smoke."

"Just take one."

Jonathan considered taking one but refrained. "No i'm okay."

"Okay whatever."

They waited for a few hours. By that time it was 11:30.

"I hope Max is coming soon."

OOC: Is this RP concurrent, before, or after the main quest of Fallout 3?

Richard was inside the warren chewing on some Iguana on a Stick when he heard a broadcast. It was static but the mini-radar dish on the duo's Pip-Boy's allowed them to pick up the weak signal from their location deep within the Capital Wasteland. Judith said, "Let's try to find a radio tower so that we can get a better signal." Richard said, "Brilliant Judith, let's go." The duo then left the safety of the warren and entered the harsh wasteland. Richard looked around and said, "According to the map, WKML Broadcast Station is to the west of here, let's go and maybe we'll get a clearer broadcast.

The duo then started walking west, passing by an Army truck where Richard got an Assault Rifle, and both Vault Dwellers got spare parts for their weapons. As they continued traveling along a destroyed road, Three Dog gave a report about the other Vault 110 Dwellers wandering the wastes. The duo was elated at the thought of other survivors, but decided to keep their thoughts on reaching the bradcast station in one piece. Judith was scared that Three Dog might have given a beacon for every Raider and Slaver that there was some fresh meat to be had. Richard then saw a broken power line tower and ran towards it, Judith following close behind.

Once they were on top of the hill the tower was on, they could see the broadcast station not too far away. However, Judith's scream brought Richard's attention to a large group of Giant Ants. As they got closer Judith said, "Got any ideas Richard, bugs aren't exactly my forte." Richard said to Judith, "Ants use a pheremones to help communiate, find their way around, and identify eachother. If we hit their antennae, they'll get confused and attack eachother, giving us an opportunity to escape. The moment the ants decided that the duo would be good eating, Richard and Judith shot at their antennae, confusing them enough for the duo to escape.

After running for about 20 minutes, the duo found themselves at a place called Mason Dixon Salvage. Judith said, "Quiet, I hear something." The source happened to be a large creature. It was about 9 ft tall, had yellowish-green skin, armor made from tires and metal, and appeared to be a very mutated human. Richard said, "I think that thing's one of those "Super Mutants" that Crow warned us about, let's try to sneak past it." Judith then said, "Too late, it's already noticed us." The Super Mutant yelled, "I'll wear your spines around my NECK, humans!", before trying to ash the duo's heads in with a Sledgehammer. Both Vault Dwellers dodged the attack, but the Super Mutant did a slide sweep and knocked Richard to the ground. Before Richard could get up, the Super Mutant had him in his grasp.

As the Super Mutant tried to choke him to death Richard thought, "I never thought that I'd die from asphyxiation due to an oversized mutant." Richard tried to shoot the Super Mutant with his Magnum, but it snatched the gun and crushed it under its foot. Richard then stabbed the Super Mutant with his Combat Knife, forcing it to let him go. Judith then shot it with her Assault Rifle, killing it after expending two clips. Once the Super Mutant was vanquished, Judith ran over to Richard and asked, "Are you alright?" Richard answered, "Other than the fact that I was nearly choked to death, I'm fine." Judith said, "I'm glad, we're the only people we have out here." The duo walked some more after scavenging and found themselves at the WKML broadcast station.

"Finally", Richard said, "We can try to pin down that radio message." Once Judith turned on the radio tower, the new radio message came in as, "My name is Max Strive. There is still hope..." Judith came outside and said, "That message and Three Dog's report gave me an idea. What if once we get to where Max is holed up, we convince him to form an expeditionary group to head to GAlaxy News Radio and convince Three Dog to help steer the Vault 110 Dwellers in the right direction?" Richard said, "Sounds good, let's just get into contact with Max."

Using the radio tower to boost their signal to a five-mile radius in the direction of Max's hideout, Richard broadcasted, "Max, if you can hear this message, Judith and I are alive, and will join up with you as soon as possible, please respond." The duo then waited for Max's response.

Steven stayed close behind Max all the way to the houses. When they arrived, Steven made a quick sweep. Every ten minutes or so, he did one. He was looking through one of the houses. The door was broken in, strange. He looked around, but only got slightly inside before he heard a voice. "You want a ciggarette?" The voice was scratchy, and dry. Steven looked through the slits of the wood to see a huminod creature that was intelligible, and looked like a zombie from an old horror flick. Steven raised his pistol before seeing brown hair. Steven adjusted to see the head it belonged to, and recognized the face. "Max! I found Jonathan and Sheena!!" Steven burst though the door, only to be met by the end of a barrel, belonging to the zombie. Steven's reflexes made him throw his gun toward the thing, putting the end of the weapon on the thing's forehead.

((OOC: This post covers 3-5 days, the beggining is the past and then it becomes current. I didn't want t get into much detail because I didn't want it to become too huge.))

James and Lisa had been walking for days. They were low on supplies, and needed to find some fast. "What's that?" James asked, seeing structures in the distance. They made their way to it and walked up to the entrance. A robot greeted them. "Welcome to Megaton." James study the robot for a few seconds, before they entered the town. They were confronted by Simms the town Sherrif. After talking they asked where they were on the map. "Right here." Simms pointed at a location under a river.

"Did we cross a river?" James asked Lisa. Lisa raised her shoulders as if she said "I don't know."

After a few hours they rested and got supplies they headed back out North. After crossing the bridge over the river Lisa noticed a large figure coming at them. James raised his gun at it but it turned out to be Joseph. He was running by himself.

"Hey. Aren't you supposed to be in Paradise Falls?" James asked.

Joseph scratched his head. "Well, no, since I'm not a slaver anymore." James threw him a puzzled look. "It's been a long time coming. I was almost killed by Eulogy and his goons. I wasn't getting enough slaves on each run and I was using up too much supplies. I never wanted to be a slaver. I had a family, and I had to provide for them. But that's all in the past now, their gone, and so are my days of being a slaver. I'm a new man now, I'm going to help the people of the wastes now, instead of capturing them."

"That's great," James said, "but where will you go now?"

"Actually can I go with you guys? I got plenty of supplies I took from Eulogy before he tried to have me killed."

James looked at him. After thinking, he said yes. "Sure, we can always use an extra pair of hands. We are headed for where we think our friends might be." Joseph nodded his head and they went off to find Max and the rest of the group.

OOC: We have all been doing our own thing for a while which is great. There has been some really good character development, place creation in the North North East of the wasteland and some great new characters introduced. I hope everyone is still enjoying themselves, I know I am, and hopefully we can all be reunited soon. :)

Here are just a few things that I will update you with:

- Today's date is, Sunday - June 6th 2276 at 12:00pm Noon, 4 Days has passed since the start of the RP.
- It is a year before Vault 101 opens. If somehow our lives in the wasteland last over a year, I might just introduce the Lone Wanderer, Project Purity and the Liberty Prime, etc? going on around us while we live our lives, but we will see how it goes eh? I'm getting a little ahead of myself haha!
- If you want to create your own locations, and work on your own events (although I am the RP master and if I don't like it we can rework it, please don't take offensively!) You can take us on your own mini little RP's and stories and create characters and events etc, so please don't feel restricted by this, it's your world just as much as mine (I just get the final say :D) but you have been doing great so far with introducing characters and locations and plot twists so that's awesome, and obviously I have a few more up my sleeve for a later date so don't worry.
- This month's special mentions for this forum (as can be found http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1004259) are up and you don't have long to let them know what you think. If you think someone in this RP has been playing really well and you think they deserve a special mention, then go ahead and chuck them in, i'm sure they'd appreciate the gesture :)

BRIEF CHARACTER UPDATE:

Occasionally I will post Brief character updates allowing everyone who is taking part and those who are reading to see exactly where all the characters in play are and what they are doing; to help the game flow, to avoid confusion and also for reference purposes...

(If you want to join the game or you want your character removed from the game, please contact me with a private message)

Max heard Steven call his name followed by what he could hear were the names... Jonathan and Sheena?!! NO WAY! IT WORKED! Max thought to himself excitedly. He grabbed his hunting rifle and ran down the hill to greet them and was met by a new face... a ravaged face... He looked like he had been dipped into a pot of acid and lived to tell the tail...

Max stood dead in his tracks... He was going to meet Jonathan with open arms but this new fellow seemed to be having a stand off with Steven... "Jonathan... What's going... on? Is this a trap?" he said with a worried tone to his voice...

MEANWHILE:

Back at New Haven, Sarah was giving Max's office a better clean. Max thought he had done a great job, but Sarah really didn't think so. She was giving it a once over when the HAM Radio started reacting...

"Max, if you can hear this message, Judith and I are alive, and will join up with you as soon as possible, please respond." Sarah was gobsmacked and quickly picked up the transmitter and said "Richard?! Is That you?! It's so good to hear your voice! This is Sarah, Max's sister. Max has gone to the rendevous location..." Sarah carried on excitedly... "I'm so happy you two are ok! I will let Max know you got in contact and hopefully i will see you soon?!" You could tell by the tone of her voice that she was grinning with happiness... They weren't alone... Max's premenition might come true...

"What time is it?" Harley asked Kate as they lay on the couch listening to the radio, Harley had removed his and Kate's PIP-boys and put them in the tool box.

Kate reached over and pulled one of the PIP-boys out and checked the time, "It's eight thirty, we've got another three and a half hours to wait Harley".

Harley let out a long sigh, "I hate it when you are waiting for something important, time always seems to stretch out far longer".

"Oh Harley, I'm sure we could find something fun to do, to fill the time" Kate said with a smile, trying to flirt with him.

"Yeah, your right" Harley smiled back at Kate, totally oblivious to Kate's body language and the way she was looking at him. He stood up and started sorting through all their tools, weapons and supplies.

Harley ran up and down the stairs a few times to grab some things from the bedroom and the other two rooms for the next few hours, once all their gear and supplies were organized they had quite a good stockpile of things. After he was happy with their possessions, he sat down on the couch with Kate and put his arm around her.

They sat there hugging and talking about the soon-to-be meet with their friends, they sat until twelve o'clock.

Jonathan saw the door burst open and Marcus point his pistol towards whatever it was that came through the door. It was Steven shortly followed by Max. "Whoa wait, stop! Put the guns down. Steven, Max, this is Marcus he's been helping me so far."

"You know these guys Jonathan?"

"Yes these are our friends," said Sheena.

"Well, okay," Marcus slowly put back his pistol.

"Well what have we here. It's a ham radio," said Paul, " I love these things." Paul grabbed the ham radio's receiver and turned it on. "Captain we can't hold for much longer," Paul said jokingly, "Boom! If you are listening to this you are part of the resistance. Keep your fighting good. John Conner out."
Robbie looked at him like he was an idiot. "Anyways," Robbie said, "We're all going hunting and you need to tell the others where we are. Got It!" "Yea sure," Paul said dismissing them with his hand.

"So, this is a ghoul?" Steven asked. He wasn't trying to be offensive, but he didn't know how Marcus took it. He stuck his arms out and turned his shoulders a few times before his Pip-Boy chirped, signaling a new broadcast. Steven tuned in and maxed the volume for everyone to hear.

"Max, if you can hear this message, Judith and I are alive, and will join up with you as soon as possible, please respond." It was Richards voice. Then Sarah's voice popped on excitedly.

"I'm so happy you two are ok! I will let Max know you got in contact and hopefully i will see you soon?!" Damn, she sounded happy. But Steven knew exactly what he had to do now.

"Max, While I came out of the garage, I found an old bike I could fix up. I could go get them, my Pip-Boy already has a lock on their broadcast point." Steven said calmly. He waited for Max or anyone else to pipe up.

Max was very comfortable with Jonathan's reply, Marcus lowered his weapon and Max, now getting used to Marcus' appearance, held his hand out to greet him.

After shaking Marcus' hand and saying, "Nice to meet you, i'm Max" with a smile, he turned and gave Jonathan and Sheena a massive hug each.

"My god Jonathan, it is so good to see you. Nice clothes! Haha, you look very daper" Max said having a quick banter with the survivors of Vault One-Ten.

Steven started speaking to Max about the motorcycle to which Max replied, "Steven! That is a great idea! You are full of them!" Max said rubbing the top of his head, missing his hair up, "But I tell you what, how's about you can make that bike your little project and fix it up, but I really don't like the idea of you driving out into the wastes alone. I'm sorry but I won't let you. Not atleast until we have some sort of stability and idea of what we are dealing with, ok?"

Max wasn't waiting for a reply, as his new father, it was his job to guide him, and he would never let his son ride into the deserts of hell at his age.

Max, Steven, Marcus, Jonathan and Sheena started made their way outside making general catch up conversation trying to pass the time, waiting for any other survivors.

"So how did you meet Marcus?"

Max wondered if he was going to be reunited with anyone else on his first day waiting in the wastes...

Steven sighed, but then shrugged. "Fair enough I guess." He didn't like the fact that he couldn't ride a bike he fixed himself, but then again, it was going to take a while for it to work. He sat on the dusty ground and studied Marcus. Marcus was a new creature to Steven, never before had he seen a ghoul. Steven tucked his Beretta away. "I'm going to see if I can find anything inside the houses." Steven stood up and re-entered the house he had previously been in. There was music playing from one of the rooms upstairs....strange. He hadn't heard it the first time he was inside. Steven figured it was best to start from the bottom and work up.

The basemant was covered in dust, and not much was in it. Steven found some more parts he may need and some clothes. A pair of faded blue jeans lay in a heap on the floor. Next to that was a black shirt, close to a wife beater but bigger. Steven walked over to them, and examined them. They would fit him nicely, and they were in good condition. He slipped into them before finding a pair of fingerless gloves. Turned from white to a light brown from the dust, they were half a size too big, but Steven had a ways to go before he stopped growing. He threw them in his bag. The only thing left of his vault apparel was his shoes. Dirty black leather looked pretty good with the faded denim. he made his way back upstairs into the kitchen and looked around for a bit, finding a bit of orange and blue paper. Ashley might like this. He thought. Steven slipped it into his bag and continued into he front room. Some things lay tossed around, an a drag mark about the size of a mattress was trailed in the dust.

Steven drew his Beretta again before walking up the stairs. He slowly crept up when he heard the radio sputter out Max's voice. Must be on loop. Steven walked towards the cracked open door and saw the lit screen. He crept towards the door and booted it ahrd, sending the door off it's hinges to the ground. Steven spun around to the side of the doorway, waiting for anything to happen.

Jonathan and Sheena both hugged Max. It was like a happy family reunion. "It's nice to see you Max!" They both said. Max asked Jonathan a question about how he found Marcus. "Well shortly after leaving the vault we got separated from all of you, anyway we were wandering around when we saw a figure in the distance. We drew our guns and yelled out to see if it was friendly. Well it turned out that "it" was a he and he was hunting for food. He came close enough so we could see his face and were surprised. I thought he was a leper or something. Turns out he was subject to massive amounts of radiation. He decided to help us and I found out why after learning he was Ex-Raider. Shortly after he found us he gave us these clothes although we could do with some sort of glasses due to all the dust and sand out here. Anyway enough about what happened to us, what about you?
