OOC: I've got an idea.
Security Chief Kevin HunterWalking up to the Overseer's door the two guards stationed there saluted.
"Tell Goodwin I'm here to see him."
The leftmost guard turned depressing the intercom on the door. "Chief Hunter to see you Overseer."
"Send him in."
The guard released the intercom and pressed the button under it opening the door then motioning for the Chief to enter.
Crossing the threshold the chief began to sweat bullets as the door shut behind him. The Overseer sat with his head low, his fingers steepled, a disgusted look on his face. Walking towards the chair opposite to the Overseer's desk Chief Hunter sat down.
"In the last twenty four hours under your watch a security officer has been put in critical condition, a tech and another officer have been bludgeoned to death, and to top it off we have an additional officer who is missing. I should have you canned and jailed immediately but I'd like to give you the chance to plead your case.", Goodwin concluded darkly.
"I'll have this case closed by the end of the day and all parties associated will be punished to the full extent of the law, I guarantee it."
"Well, you've persuaded me. You have one day before I remove you from duty, Chief. Don't let me down!"
"Yes, Overseer."
Chief Hunter jumped from his seat and hastily left the room. Gripping his head as he walked he noticed Officer Valley escorting Graver. Upon noticing the Chief, Officer Valley walked over and began whispering into the Chief's ear.
Sir, we've found two bloody knives. One in the possession of Wesley Hardin the other in Officer Kendall's room. We've brought Kendall in for questioning just in case but I'm sure this is all Hardin.Focusing his attention on Graver who looked rather bored by the whole situation Hunter felt sick about what he was going to ask. The answer worried him even more.
"Graver, did you leave your room anytime last night?"
"Yeah around 2 a.m. to take a piss, Why?"
"Was Kendall still there when you went?"
"Nope. That chump was nowhere in sight and if you don't believe me two citizens saw me come from the can."
The Chief listened to the words for some time mulling over whether he could trust a known liar and thief.
"Mr. Valley I will be interviewing Kendall myself you and Graver will watch from outside."
Making his way into interview room two the other two men waited outside. Officer Thomas looked up as the Chief entered and stood up allowing Kevin to sit down.
"Mr. Kendall, I'm sorry to have to ask this but are you responsible for all the crimes that have transpired recently."
The man now obviously shaken and terrified shook his head.
"Well we have evidence of the crime in your room add that to the fact Graver didn't see you outside his room when you were told to stand guard has me, questioning your innocence."
"I know I shouldn't have but I went to my room to get some sleep. I'm sorry Chief!
"You have no alibi, Mr. Kendall which leaves me worried." Where were you when Raleigh was attacked?"
"I-I-I was on guard duty near the living quarters."
"Right where the weapon to attack Raleigh was stolen. The case against you is mounting Mr. Kendall.
"N-No I had nothing to do with that."
"While all the evidence we've got right now is indeed circumstantial I'm going to have to place you under arrest until this matter is settled."
Officer Thomas went to where Kendall was sitting and lifted the man from his seat. Kendall used his arm to elbow Thomas in the groin knocking the wind out of him. Kendall then grabbed the ailing officer's weapon.
Before he could line up a shot the Chief had already put four slugs in the man. Stumbling back against the interview room wall Kendall attempted to lift the weapon up while clutching his chest. Chief Hunter expended every bullet in his clip which sent the man sliding to the ground a streak of blood going down as he went.
