Well he doesn't really die because he's not alive. More like suffers a catastrophic system failure.

The wait is just part of the experiment. Eveything ages and nothing last forever. The more human, the more successful their experiment. It's not just our bodies that make us human, it is our emotions. All this must be considered.

Synthetic baby that then grows up? Thanks for a laugh :D

I think one of the parents is synthetic, which one? The one you choose to play as.

Same. The rest of the game I'd just be like "hmmm so what would a POS robot say to this"

So it's ok to have brains in a jar wanting revenge, super mutants quoting poetry and perverted ghouls, just can't have "humans" that aren't pushed out of a p**sy..got it.

lol don't get cranky

and if they aren't robots what do you think they are? they have robotic parts obviously from the gen 2's. even if Harkness was a newer model, it's unlikely that they'd ditch ALL of that to make a 100% organic model. in that case they'd be a clone. call it what you want, they're not humans. and I'll call it what I want, robots

Really starting to feel that way myself. The robots are getting out of hand. Gotta put em back in line. That railroad chick in 3 really got on my nerves, so much so that I made an exception to my no killing innocents rule just for her every time. If everyone in game that's siding with freeing the robots is like her I might just have to go on a rampage.

I think there will be many times we are not going to be easily aware of who to trust and in some cases betrayed.

Right, but just as the other vault experiments don't make sense, to me it makes less sense-as an experiment that is.
What is the purpose in waiting 200 years? Who is going to even be around to collect whatever data they could hope to glean? It's basically 200 years to even start that experiment. The other vaults at least had their experiments being conducted from the gate.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of the institute having a hand in the vault. MIT on our side does a lot of govt tech development. And produces those who will later do the same in business. They most assuredly worked with, or had overlap with the pre-war Enclave. They definitely have an in for making vaults.

I could also see hibernating in the event of war as a vehicle for the institute to come to power behind the curtains. But that isn't an experiment. And 200 years is a bit long to wait. For that type of purpose, you would want to get in on the ground floor. Like old money families, such as the Du Ponts, Rockefellers, etc.

I'm not against the sentient uprising of androids or anything.

I just also think that The Institute, being based on MIT, has many disciplines of science and technology under its roof. They could have some doings with V111, but I don't feel androids in the vault as being what they would have going on.

Most likely, the Cryo stasis is the experiment for that vault. Can a human be stored long term and be reanimated at a much later date, after technically being dead?

What if a bunch of terminally ill super elite knew they couldn't ride it out in a bunker, or on a rig, or really anywhere, post apocalypse, so the majority of the dwellers are terminally ill and are in cryonic stasis, awaiting a time when they can be cured or made young again?
-Enter synths, created ultimately to house these people.

I like the idea...it is cliche but so were FO3 and FONV stories. Plus making a [censored] up story while giving us the illusion of choice of how we go about it is a challenging feast. I wouldnt mind discovering at the end that my char was an expensive microcpus piece of tech that has all the memories of my old self all that while trying to be human.

Hope you did not spoil the while story!

Would be amazing if they had most ending set in a you never learn you are synth. You sided with the Institute and they never told you as you were doing their dirty work killing other synths, even killing your own son (maybe).Only the good ending letting your char know that.../jaws drops

Could also adds a post story quest that reveals it to you...motivation to slauther them all post game :D

The protagonist being a robot the whole time would be perhaps the only realistic thing that could ruin this game for me.

Good god, please don't do it.

Could be the other way around, the Institute send you to kill a group of synths...then you learn it was your son and he was human.../jaw drop

No ending will make you happy...lets hear your theories / speculations / wishes :D

I hope fallout 4 doesn't have bad issues with the pc version because i feel like the first day were going to hear a lot of complaints. Also im not to sure if you can join them or if it's just a quest.

If i recall correclty, Harkness was the only sync/clone known in the current lore.

Even the Thinktank of FNV never mentionned in detail or even at all synths or clones.

But of course as this is a facet of the Fallout lore never fully explored or explained, i guess Bethesda has a lot of choices to design were this is going.

Nope, he was only the most advanced one built by Zimmer.

Other synths are known to have existed for some time.

He has another synth with him in Fallout 3. His bodyguard is one.

We also are explicitly told that the Railroad has been helping synths escape for some time.
