Dornan received a report on his terminal of two vault dwellers coming in with wounds. Dornan then entered back at the intercom.


" Vault security, suspects, Max and Alex of sector 1B are to be arrested. Cafeteria 3B is to be secured, vault personal secure the cafeteria , laser pistols are authorized, lethal force, Authorized"


Dornan then watched at the panel screen as the security team marched into the clinic and hauled off the vault dwellers. He then clicked another button and saw that the men barricading themselves inside the spare cafeteria were looting it. Then the security team blurred the screen, laser blasts filling the screen. Dornan opened the intercom once more.

" If necessary, kill them, if you don't find them fighting, take them to my office along with the other two renegades. "

The intercom from Max's radio went off.

Alex took a look at Max, and put the drinks away, back into the bag.

"Your choice Max. Do we leave, or wait for the guards to get us?"

The sound of heavy footsteps were approaching. Alex sat, and waited for the guards to enter the cafeteria.

James heard the intercom go off before he could drink his whiskey, he never really wanted to touch the stuff anyways.

"You both did a really stupid move back there and now the security wants you. But anyways, I support your craziness. Whatever you two choose, I'll back you up." He pulled out the 10mm pistol and cocked it, then put it back into his suit. "So, what are we doing?"

Dornan looked at the screen awaiting what the suspects would do. He opened the intercom once more.


" I hope you know what you're doing, I suggest you stand down young man. Tell your other friend to stand down as-well. I have locked all exits to the cafeteria and you are going to comply with the guards. I'll be seeing you at my office"

Kansas City

Gorgutz looked at the two raiders.

" No really boss, we saw'em running around in blue suits, I ain't kidding!

" Thats bull, you both are a bunch of idiots and I'm going to kill'ya if ya don't tell the truth"

" No kidding boss, the back of the suit said, I don't know, I think ... 118"

Gorgutz's eyes opened up

" WHAT"

" I ain't kidding sir, 118, yellow letters"

Gorgutz took out his .44 magnum revolver and shot both raiders in the forehead. He then left the room and proceeded down the broken makeshift hallways of his "palace". He moved over to the microphone over the main raider plaza. Turning it on, he announced :

" Boyz, we found ourselves a new lootingz ground!!"

The raiders cheered and jumped wildy, falling over each other.

" We found ourselves a VAULT!"

The raider crowd got more vicious, shooting their fire-arms into the air

" We can't go in just yet, we still haven't looted up the old mesa settlement, and we haven't found all the tribal slaves, there are more villages, and we're gonna find'em. When we do, its the vault we set our eyes on!"

The crowd cheered as classical rock'n roll played. The artist known only as Elvis.

OOC: So far so good, exploration is a biggy when you guys finally meet the raiders, especially when you discover the old mesa settlement I planned for the "cowardly" lot of you.

Max let out a groan, slowly standing. "We will go along.. see the Overseer. Let me do the talking." Max said quietly, "Im a Vault Security Officer, so I know some of these guys."

Suddenly, the door to the cafeteria burst open, other officers rushing in the room with laser pistols raised, Max raising his hands slowly as they surrounded the three.

"Dont make a move!"

"Max, your in big [censored] trouble!"

"He has a weapon, take him down?"

Max looked to the last speaker, "Wait!" he shouted, slowly setting his hands to the strap of his assault rifle and pulling the weapon off, letting it slide off his arm and drop to the floor. He kicked it to the nearest security officer, "Dont break it please... Saved my life." Max muttered.

"Take them in." one of the officers said, marching the three forward with weapons drawn.

James sighed and stood up, and followed Max. He then stuffed the pistol deep into his suit. "Alright, you'll do the talking." he mumbled.

He looked at Alex and asked him a question, "you coming? We don't have a choice."

Alex looked at James ((Phil?)). Disgruntled, he responded to James and the guards in a general way.

"Yeah, yeah i'm coming."

He wondered what the overseer wanted from the three men. Probably wanted to punish us for going outside, he assumed. Either way, Alex was sure that it wasn't going to be anything good.

Dornan awaited the suspects as he sat down in his chair. The guards came in and tossed the boys in.


" I can see you made the wise choice"

Dornan pulled out a police baton under his desk just in-case

" Do you have any idea what you have done! You incited a case of paranoia within the vault. Once word reaches that there is danger outside, the project will be ruined!"

Dornan then lifted himself up and walked over to Alex, grabbing him by the collar and hitting him in the leg with the baton

" Now if you let me, you have no idea what you are facing out there, and I especially doubt you know the PEOPLE out there! Do you want me to tell you what our scouting reports told us about the outside before we left! Why don't you tell them security officer James?"

Dornan looked at James with judging eyes, expecting him to tell the truth.

Max watched as Dornan slammed the baton against his friend, his hands curling into fist for a moment, he looking like he would say something. Just then he heard something about scout reports from James.

Max looked to James with a "What?" look on his face. If there was something bad outside the Vault besides what Max encountered, then as a security officer he expected to be informed.

James sighed. "Yes, sir." He stood up, and looked at Max and Alex.

"We've found raider like gangs in the past, and many other deadly creators outside. You may understand now how Officer Adams, Officer Winter, and Officer Fielding disappeared in the past a few months ago, they didn't survive the encounter with the outside world, so the rest of us fell back. That's how I knew how to set up the stuff so well, because I already knew the outside layout well enough. I'm not really an engineer, but mainly a security officer. Though I do fix stuff in the meantime, it's mainly a cover-op."

He looked away. "I'm sorry."

Dornan stared at them and then replied

" That is all officer, you may leave now"

Dornan looked at both renegades

" I would have you shot if you weren't part of this vault. If you EVER, and I mean ever, see a human on the outside, don't take me with a grain of salt, may I say, don't ever help them. Starving or not, you never know their past, Slaver, raider, murdered, mercenary. If you want to know, let me give you a recap of the what is outside. Computer, access data files encrypted "wasteland". "

The computer terminal flickered to life and projected images across the display panels on the master control unit.

Cannibal, cannibals are the epitome of depravity among the wasteland, they consume the flesh of their fellow humans and are incredibly unstable mentally. The only afformentioned "settlement" for cannibals was in washington D.C. The towns were identified as Andale and Merest trainyard I.D number 5759. Areas have been quarantined by vault-tec protocol mainframe.

Vault dweller, surviving vault dweller, these group of inhabitants are to be rescued immediately and re-conditioned to vault lifestyle.

Brotherhood of steel, renegade government operatives, avoid at all costs

Enclave, Legitimate former survivors of U.S senate families and armed forces. These men and women will give orders to the vault as ordered in the vault manual and you will be safely relocated to the nearest Enclave facility.

Dornan looked at the boys

" Now do you see why I ask you not to be too damn nosy?"

Alex stood back up, trying to remain calm despite getting whacked in the leg by the Overseer with a police baton. He didn't expect the Overseer could pack a punch.

"Fine. I get it. But it doesn't matter. There is already a group of people who are taking refuge in the lower part of the Vault, just as you announced we were going outside. I bet you probably already killed them, from what I know now."

Alex took a look at James. He couldn't believe one of his own friends the whole time was living a lie.

"How could you James? Just keep it all secret. You saw what was out there, and yet you could have told us!"

Alex didn't know what he was being shown. He didn't want to believe it, but it was happening.

Max shook his head, standing slowly.

"Sir, with all respect, my friend and I were doing so to gather supplies, and see what life was like outside the Vault.... I believe I understand that now, however... how do we know that we are safe? I am apart of Vault Security, and yet I was not informed of any of this! God only knows what knowledge you have, other then a small scouting group and information from a computer."

Max let out a sigh, "If we are going to build a colony, dont you think it would be wise if you allowed some of the people that are defending and building it to go out and see what kinds of things there are out there to endanger them? Dont you think it would be smart, if you sent someone to scout a certain few miles around our colony, recording observations, then bring them back? My friend and I were mainly doing just that, and meant no harm to the vault... that is all I have to say."


Max slowly sat back down, not sure what would happen next, only hoping he said the right things.

Dornan stared at the security officer


" How dare you, did you not see all of THIS!"

Dornan pointed over to the holo-projection , showing images of slavers [censored] , looting, raiders murdering, brotherhood paladins fighting and killing ghouls, ferals eating upon the remnants of a mole rat, cannibals attacking an entire settlement and consuming the raw meat, and more vile images.


" If the population figures this out, they will never wan't to go outside. I need a city from which I can contact other vaults and rebuild this nation, but if I tell everyone of the horrid world, they will over-throw me in all out rebellion and I will be forced to kill the residents! I don't want to become what you are seeing before you, the depravity of the wastes! "

Dornan continued to flicker the screen as image after image was shown of how the wasteland was hostile and cruel, the last image being show a dead child being looted by raiders.

James shook his head. "I'm sorry you two, I couldn't tell you." James then walked out back to his room, and locked the door. He looked down and pulled out his pistol and unloaded all but one of the bullets, and sat down on his bed.

"I've betrayed all of my friends, and failed my mission to keep everything under control." he whispered to himself. Taking one deep breath, James lifted the pistol up to his forehead, and tried to force himself to pull the trigger.

However, he just couldn't seem to do it, he quickly put it back down and sighed, put his pistol away, and decided to go to sleep to ease his mind.

"How do we know this is all the wasteland has to offer?!" Max replied, watching the images. "Listen... if somone doesnt find out EVERYTHING about what is out there, then the colony will be in danger Dornan! Do you know how I got this wound?" Max said, pointing toward the cloth wrapped around his leg.

Dornan looked at the officer.

" You imbecile, of course I know what attacked you. I accessed it on an Only-I-need-to-know file. If you realized what monstrosities, people, places there were, you would have cowered under your mothers death bed. You do not know the wasteland. You cannot tame it, you have to eradicate it. And you will follow the law. If you want to be part of the security detail that travels into the wasteland, speak to security officer James, but if I ever find out that you reveal this information to the vault, I will shoot you myself."


Dornan then grabbed a odd looking helmet and a needle, he inserted it into the helmet. Small enough to not harm the brain.

" Put this on, this helmet has memory files that transpond to your brains frequency, you will find images you can not even imagine, are you ready?"

Max raised a hand to Dornan for a moment.

"Dont, ever say a [censored] word about my mother, understood? Good. Put it on me..."

Man if Zalphon was still in this rp, he would be all up in Max's face! ))

(( Uh, what? "The security team blurred the screen"? What does that mean? There's a bit ol` barricade in the way, they'd have to crawl through in single file. >_> ))

Jack heard the guards trying to get through the barricade.

"Holy crap!".

He then said in a lower voice, "I'll get the traps, just in case they find a way.".

He put up the makeshift frag mines, which were really sharp metal, and glass attached to twenty explodeable fire extinguishers. A series of tripwires and guns attached to the wall would shoot the fire extinguishers, causing them to kill anyone who went through the barricade.

He then reinforced the barricade a little, and started gathering all the supplies. Guns, food, all the ammo, books, water, and meds.

"Come on, doc, we're going through the vents!".
