Vault 118

(OOC: You may post anytime you wish, though about normal convocation and such around the vault. Just simply ignore what's happening outside. Gossip with others at the caferteria about stuff going on, whatnot. At least I think.)

I'm not really a fan of the idea of posting unless it would have some relevance to to RP, or other players.

Youll be fine. It is always good to learn more about your character. Just dont make it a two liner and completely pointless, like, somone.... ))

Max walked back into the vault, toward some air conditioning. Two other security guards could be seen drinking out of plastic cups, conversing.

"Max! Good to see your up. How do you feel?" one said, his visor pulled up lightly so he can drink.

"Like [censored].' Max replied through the radio, pulling his visor up a little as well and beginning to pour himself a drink. "What the hell happened?"

'You dont remember? Tommy pushed you down the stairs... we haven't had the time to teach the boy a lesson, but I hear the kid almost pissed himself in class today."

Max gave off a smirk, chugging down his water and smashing the plastic cup in his hand, pulling his visor back down to cover his mouth.

"How long do we have to wear these damn things?" he said through the radio, the two others shrugging. Max shook his head lightly before turning and walking back out of the vault, in the direction of the man that was giving orders.

"Sir, ready for duty." Max said, the sun reflecting lightly off his visor.

They began to work on the structure slowly. Within a few minutes they already had the floor laid down. James was working with a nearby Engineer about how to setup the left side when the security guard returned.

"Sir, ready for duty." stated the security guard.

James turned around, looked around for something for him to do. He replied back to the guard. "Take this device and scan the nearby area for radiation. If we get some luck and turns out this whole area is radiation free, we can take off these damn suits."

James smiled, even though he knew the guard couldn't see it. Turning around, he turned on his intercom "Any residents wishing to aid the Engineering team in construction of the new city may meet near the Vault Door and await for further instructions."

They were going to need every manpower they could get.

OOC:
The moron needs to learn, the wasteland has savages...
Dude, how does you character know all this stuff? I'm pretty sure the people would know, during the great war, that earth wasn't liveable.

IC:Jack hesitantly agreed, and only put some of the food back, and even took some more of the smaller foods, hoping he didn't notice. "Yeah, come on, you lead the way, friend.". Emphasized it enough to make it know that he meant, Up yours, but I need to survive, so.....

OOC: King o' the page!

"Any residents wishing to aid the Engineering team in construction of the new city may meet near the Vault Door and await for further instructions."

Terry perked up as he heard that he would be able to assist in building the city.
It may be manual labour; but atleast I get to see the outside world! He thought, as he scurried of toward the Vault Door.

Alex was still in the cafeteria in the atrium when the intercom went on. He noticed the voice wasn't the Overseer, but somebody else.

"Any residents wishing to aid the Engineering team in construction of the new city may meet near the Vault Door and await for further instructions."

After hearing that, Alex without hesitation started heading towards the Vault entrance. He quickly turned around and tried to get attention to the rest of the citizens.

"Come on guys, we need to help out if we want to start fresh. To the Vault door!"

He started to move again towards the Vault Door, and smiled. Knowing he would be able to do his part in helping build a new life for the people in the Vault.

James moved towards the vault door, passing the interior pressure door which let him remove his helmet. He took one clean breath of the Vault Air, which is much better than the Radiation suits.

Spying a few residents, he smiled. He could spot Terry and Alex, along with a few others.

"Greetings all. The Vault City will need a lot of work. There are multiple areas you all may help us in. There's manual labor which can help increase how fast we make our structures, food and water supply for the thirsty and hungry workers, medical relief for anyone infected with radiation or anything else, and engineering supplies for our manual teams."

He smiled at them all. "Only Manual labor teams will be going outside a lot. The others may go outside at their desire to help with other stuff or their superior calls upon it. Currently, if going outside, you'll need a radiation suit unless told otherwise." he showed them the suit supply room nearby. "Manual Labor teams follow my command and the overseers, while the others follow other superiors and or the overseers commands." He put up a sheet on the wall of all head staff the residents should report to other than his team.

"Well, get to it!" he encouraged.

Alex walked towards the list, and saw the possible selections. After deciding, he thought it would be best to serve in the manual labor. He signed up, and went towards the supply room. He found a suit that fit him, and put it on.

He was suprised how tight the suit was. And how weird the air was when breathing through the suit. It took a while for him to get used to moving in the suit. Following that, Alex left the Vault and stepped outside.

The first couple of seconds left him blind, as he had to wait for his eyes to adjust to the normal sunlight. He took a look around outside of the Vault, and noticed how barren the area is. He could see what used to be a barn with a grainery far off into the distance, but knew for his safety that if he were to go out that far, he probably would be a dead man. Yet, he was curious about the building, and thought there may be something there, like a weapon, or some books.

"I'll try going there later. No need to go there yet anyways." He said it in a very quiet voice, so no one would know what he said.

After taking a look around, he noticed a man started talking to him. It seems he was giving Alex instructions.

OOC: Ok guys, time to meet the antagonist that I prepared for this RP. The moment MajorMarks and the rest of you sorry lot have been waiting for

Kansas City

Gorgutz approached the microphone sitting in front of him, half broken and barely audible. The crowd of raiders infront of him cheering and laughing maniacally as he turned the speaker on.

" Boys, we got us some new meat!!! We found a town nearby dis'old vault, whatever, and its got food!!! Instamash, Macaroni, you name it. Its by the old barn, few farmers there. And as boss of the Bad-moons, we'z gonna get to loot, pillage, and stomp out every town in dis here place we call home!!!! Lets get raidingggg!!!!!!!!!"

The crowd of raiders cheered even louder this time. Raving on the new info of a wastelander settlement in the barn. One of them shouted out.

" [censored] yeah!!! I wan't me some water and mash, yeah!!!"

The crowd roared as Gorgutz smiled then left the stage. Kansas city was only partially under his control, the rest of the population hiding in government shelters that were still working. He was going to have a busy month.

" Get the dune bugs, we're going to pillage some tribals in the meantime, get the boy's warmed up, snap to it!"

His servant, Mogo, was a ghoul he found wandering in an old office building. He became his driver and human shield if necessary. Mogo then nodded silently then proceeded to an old burnt out garage covered in the markings of a typical raider gang. Only this one was 130 strong.

OOC: If you guys notice the name Gorgutz, its a slight nod towards the Dawn of War pc game by Relic. One of the most memorable RTS characters ever.

As for other things, this RP is turing out to be very good. Here's hoping we can keep on playing, even with you know who playing. :P))

Some of the residents walked over to James as he was sitting down trying to figure out what to do with the roof. Already half an hour in and the team has constructed four walls and the flooring for what should be the securities station, at least a small one for now.

He turned around, and looked at them. "We're about to expand here in an hour or so. We need you all to work with security to move the sandbags forward about two hundred feet. Then work on laying the foundation of the purifier and energy plant." He looked at Max. "You there, I want you to gather some security officers and begin to make a few guard towers on the hills there and there. No need to be big ones, just about one story tall and a few feet wide, enough for a sharpshooter or two. The designs are here, take the sheets and follow them. If you need help, ask me."

He handed them to max, and turned around. This radiation suit made it difficult, when will that one guy come back with the findings? If he doesn't come back soon, James will have to do it himself.

James gave some directions to overall what was going on, and what Alex could do to help out.

Alex then followed the group of people, hopefully to find out where the sandbags are. He noticed how hot it was outside then it was in the vault. The suit felt like a cage as he was starting to sweat, and move in weird ways to move in a confortable way. After grabbing some sandbags, he started placing them around the area they were talking about, grabbing one, placing one, and on and on. He continued to do this for quite some time, until he started to get exhausted.

While doing this, he started thinking about that barn. He was thinking about maybe talking to one of the security officials and see if he could go on a scouting party, and explore the nearby area.

Jack fixed his hat on his head, "Ugh, it smells down here. The only time worse than this was during the great diharea outbreak. Say, was I the only one who didn't get sick during that?". He waited for an answer while walking with the doc.

Upon reading the options, Terry had orginally decided to help with the buuilding work. That said, he was actually sitting just inside the Vault, complaining of heatstroke. Or atleast, what he thought was heatstroke.

"Somebody fetch that doctor! I'm dying over here!" He yelled, fruitlessly, as teams of workers went back and forth into the Vault to get the materials they needed.

Max turned to the commander, the radiation scanning device in hands.

"Alright sir..' he said in the radio, "Should I scan a little as we build, or will the current readings be good enough?" he said through the radio, a small amount of confusion on his face.

Had the man forgotten that he gave Max another job already? Mattered not, as long as Max was contributing, he was happy.

James listened to Max.

"Just scan the nearby and current area for Radiation. Once you're done, report me your findings."

James hoped he hadn't confused the man, but sometimes when all this commotion is going on, orders can get mixed up and such along the way. He continued to watch them build. Finally the roof was done of the outpost, For now, it was a small little box outpost, about the size of a small home, enough for the security to rest in.

Max nodded before going off to the south first, about three miles. He would want to get scanning done fast, hopefully able to get back to the construction sight before towers began to be built. Soon enough, the security would be sent to scout out areas, help scavenge... or so Max hoped.

After about three hours of scanning, Max noticed a pattern of about 1 or under rads on land, and one or a little above in areas with small amounts of water. He let out a sigh, pulling off the visor and helmet of his armor and throwing it to the ground before heading back to the construction sight.

Working on the construction towers, he noticed a man walking back towards the site. It was a vault resident, but without a radiation suit on. "What the hell is he doing?" mumbled James. He must have found there's no radiation, at least James hope that was the case, and not insanity.

He walked over to the man and asked a simple question. "Well?"

Max threw the scanner-device to James, confidence in his eyes.

"There is indeed radiation all around us, but it shows little to no threat from what I can tell. Show it to the doctor maybe?" Max said, letting out a small sigh at his smaller success. They had just gotten out of the vault, and already things were brightening up. What could possibly go wrong?

James nodded, and took the scanner. He noticed there was a few trace amounts of radiation, but nothing dangerous for now. He sighed, and opened the helmet. Fresh air, it was unique, stale, but fresh.

Before he could enjoy this moment for too long, he looked back at max and asked, "Hey, where's your suit? You know that's expensive and limited radiation suits..."

Max looked to James for a moment, quickly trying to form up a excuse.

"The helmet began to uh.. the radio started to malfunction. It was emitting a high pitched ringing noise. I took it off along with the visor and set it against a rock. I was going to come back later and retrieve it, then tool around and see what is wrong with it. Yeh, thats it." Max said, scratching his head lightly. Perhaps it was a dumb move to take the helmet off, and he would indeed go take it back.

"Yes... Should I go get it back now, or any other orders to carry out?"

James rolled his eyes, and did a sigh.

"Yes, go get your equipment back. Take a security guard with you this time, we need to be watchful on these... lands."

Turning, he noticed a nearby Engineer on the roof working dangerously.

"He-, hey! Get your ass off of that!" he barked, the engineer was startled and fell down, quickly got up, and looked startled.

Ugh...
