Vault Dweller/Chosen One Vs. Lone Wanderer/Courier

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:13 pm

Vault Dweller/Chosen One, cause they aren't lazy ass people who need to use vehicles to get some place far away, no no no, those bastards actually WALKED for miles...
Also, they didn't need any power armor training.

Even if it was a realistic fight, the Courier still has the most experience. :)

Umm, did you really just say that?

Vault Dweller left the Vault, bred the NCR basically, destroyed hundreds of real super mutants...

Chosen One left Arroyo and destroyed the Enclave.

Chosen One left Arroyo, became a porm-star and destroyed the Enclave.

:lmao:

Courier is good but there is a little less customization then the Vault Dweller or Chosen One (can't go past 100 and no Skilled or Gifted) but he's head and shoulders above Lone Wanderer, IMO.

Guys I think in term of events that they effected, the first duo is way in the lead. Hoover Dam? A victory for NCR, they won't be in any trouble without it. The Purifier? People have survived before. The Master's Army? Would've taken over the wasteland and dipped all who surrendered. The Enclave? Would've killed everyone.

Applies to FO3 as well although No where as large a scale as FO2 but still... if the Enclave had DC they wouldn't have stopped there, the ramifications would have been severe and I know everyone will disagree.

Not really, the FEV in FO3 never actually killed anyone....IIRC just had a few sick people around.

No it killed people, i put the FEV in for the lulz and Elder Lyons says there have been complications, and we know what that means when it involves a military force and on top of this if you drink it, you die

And the Courier has always handled a gun since day 1. Vault Dweller was forced out of vault with big brother telling him to go get water. Chosen One was just a village guy that thought he was going to be a hero one day.

How do we know the courier was skilled?

There's no lore to tell us he is a pro gun-slinger. Just like with the others to tell us about them. We can just judge them based off what they did.

Exactly, The Courier doesn't have a back story at all. And in FO 1 & 2 your small guns skill would start out higher.

Fallout 1: 35 + Agility

Fallout 2: 5 + 4(Agility) (I typically start with around 45% without tagging or Gifted)

Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas: 2 + 2(Agility) + Luck/2

Also too the Vault Dweller had a party of 4 (Vault Dweller, Dogmeat, Ian, Tycho) and the Chosen One had a party of 5 (6 with a bug on V 1.0) (Chosen One, Sulik, Vic, Cassidy, Marcus, and other [Goris, Dogmeat, Myron, and Mirion/Davian]) so I'm pretty sure they could gank the Lone Wanderer and the Courier.

But if we include followers then Fawkes and Boone would own everything. If an army of Power Armored Soldiers / Elite Legionaries couldn't take them down then how can 10 people stop him. Also if we are judging by achievements then the LW/Courier still wins because
L.W.- He pretty much took on an entire enclave army all by himself, Escaped from one of the highest security places in the Capital Wasteland, Stomped over the killer swamp folk like it was nothing. Cleared Vault 87 which is the signle largest Mutant base on the East coast.
He was abducted by advanced Aliens his first response is to gather all of the survivors and not just escape but take over an entire alien mothership. ( may or may not have destroyed an entire city with an orbital death ray probably not cannon though)
Courier -He was shot in the head and he didn't just call it quits he "chased the man across the entire Mojave", "Entered the Lucky 38 (which nonone else had done since before the war) like someone left him a key under the doormat" and singlehandedly decided the fate of 3 major Factions (NCR,CL,Vegas).

Can have more then two companions at a time in the originals. I would pick companions like John Cassidy, Marcu, Tycho over any in FO3. They are way smarter then Fawkes or any other in FO3. Then there is the Warrior that can have five squad mates with Advanced PA MkII armour and machine guns, M2 browning .50cal :)

But the FO3 incarnations can only have 1 companion....Plus Fawkes and most of the other non human follower where bugged. to have like 15,000 hp....Anyway LW wouldn't be able to do anything to FO2 Enclave with "proper" Armor.

Since BB's could kill PA equipped troops in FO3....

Oh how I hate Ian, I may have given him a taste of his own medicine more than once, although I think abandoning him at the army depot and letting him get torn to shreds by mutants was to cruel, even for him :P

but at least he didn't have a knack for dismembering my entire party like a certain super mutant in FO2 :P

Eh, all I did with Ian was first move a few steps beside and behind him then start shooting at stuff. :P

All you have to do with Marcus is give him a Laser or plasma rifle.... I never had a problem with party members shooting each other or me up. However in FO3 me aiming was signal for them to walk in front of my gun it seemed.

The trick is to not give Marcus the minigun/bozar. I gave him a pulse rifle. Works wonders.

Not a big fan of Marcus really, I generally have cassidy and K-9/Goris that combination works like a charm for me

but before this gets any further off topic

in a fight
Lone wanderer/Courier > Vault Dweller/Chosen one

based on their events
1. Vault Dweller
2. Chosen one
3. Lone wanderer
4. Courier

I hate to say this, because my heart is with the Vault Dweller/Chosen One, but I think the fight would go to the other two. It would all come down to who shot first, and all the Lone Wanderer needs to do is hit VATS. If he can kill one of them before his AP runs out, Grim Reaper's Sprint will do the rest.
