Vault Opening Sound

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 12:43 pm

Who else hates that loud screaching noise of a vault opening it's huge door?!? It's like the high pitched crying of a dying baby!!

Yeah, I cringe too. But, 200 hundred year old metal against 200 year old metal with more friction than a brick against a piece of concrete won't sound like Mozart.

It's pretty bad. I have to yank out my earbuds before opening or closing the door to them.

I'm with you on this one. I either run as far away from the door as possible or hit mute until it's open.

It's the sound that makes you want to PUNCH infants!- Dane Cook. The post about the radio is completely useless I have to hit mute to drown out the noise of the dreaded vault door

I dislike the noise, but I like opening and closing vault doors.

I love the sound, but don't like hearing it often. But you only hear it a few times in the game anyway, unless you have vault mods.

It sounds like the cries of innocents, much like the cries that will be heard when the Lone Wanderer unleashes his wrath on the Wasteland

Doesn't take a genius to turn down the volume if it bothers you.

It's just for 5 or so seconds. Not really worth it to turn down the volume.

I don't like it, but, for me at least, it's the first thing that makes the creepiness set in when going into a rusty old Vault. Even though I know it doesn't actually happen, everytime I hear the screech of a Vault door opening I think to myself that now all of the baddies in the Vault know I'm there. :ninja:

Yeah. It is pretty befitting of the situation, especially with the vault you go to when trying to find your father. Weird [censored]. xD

Right. It is a huge metal disc that probably hasn't been moved in decades being pushed aside.
