I've just finished the secret side of vault 81, and the whole thing has left me rather confused. The terminal messages seem to paint a conflicting picture.

Did the scientists die of old age, as curie's log stated? Were they eaten by molerats, as curie says, or were they killed by the overseer? A terminal message mentions them being condemned to die, though exactly why i couldn't figure out.

Who were they talking to, was it the overseer of the main vault?

The original Overseer basically trapped them in there, unable to continue the Vault experiment, thus "condemning them to die", but otherwise alive.

Then they either died of old age, except one of them died from being attacked by the mole rats.

There's a lot of inconsistency there.

Most interesting is that one terminal says Curie was a factory model designed as a lab assistant from the beginning, while another contains logs from a doctor who claims to have created her by modding a stock Mr. Handy.

oh also, how did curie manage to continue research when they were unable to test on the vault residents, and when their lab was overrun by molerats

Curie is a Ms. Nanny model of robot, and not the only one in the game. So she's a factory model, not a modified Mr. Handy.

They continued their research on the mole rats. Not what they wanted, but they decided to make the best out of it.

both are true. She was a lab assistant Robot fomr Robco. But after the Vault was seal and only 3 scientist show up, one decide to star working on Curie personalty to make her better helper and compensate for the lack of personal. After a while the personalty changes star becoming more and more like humans personality. That is why u can romance her.

There is 0 inconsistency on the logs.

Aaaaah... One of the scientists got eaten by Molerats! That explains why one of the three "coffins" didn't have a skeleton in it

Actualy one of the 3 coffins didnt have a skelton in it cuz the body was cremated by Curie with accordance with the wishes from that pearson(its all described in logs)
