There is a difference between "Wanting Help" and "Having someone else do all the work for you", having us fill in all those blanks for you would wind up with us essentially writing the story. Give us a little to work with, you should probably come up with an idea for at the very least, the plot. Give us just the basics of what you had in mind. At the very least.

Ok, sorry. How about this,

A guy wanders through the wasteland documenting his jurney in the form a a diary. He talks about the ins and outs of post apocalyptic survival. The people he meets, the places he finds, and what he had to do to live.

Um, yeah, that's something someone else already has going.

There's FalloutBob's story " The State of Kimball " and to a lesser extent Finnegan's " Doc Webb's Wasteland Journal ".

Well post-apocalyptic journals are probably some of the most common fanfics, the two above are just samples of plenty others. Basically the journal idea is really just a style of writing, epistolary so I wouldn't rule it out if someone has done it before because it's more of a style than a plot. So let's focus on the plot.

A guy wandering the wastes? Pretty vague.

Does he have any motivation to wander the wastes, chasing someone or something? Either in a physical or metaphorical sense. Is searching for a safe haven? Looking for an oasis? On the path to revenge of his dog's killer and is now contemplating the harsh reality of the wastes and is wondering if his journey really has any purpose and by killing the man that took something he loved from him will he actually fill better or worse?

Motivation, goals, desires of you character can help you keep the story going. If your character has something he wants it will be much easier to write. So you can keep the whole "journal" aspect of the thing but you should have some kind of scenario planned that keeps the protagonist moving.

Motive for the wanderer.

It's a spiritual journey, his settlement was destroyed by raiders, and he was the only one to live. He wanders the wastes to find something more to life in a hopeless world. He looks for a reason to live.

And will he find this reason to live? What will it take the form of?

If I tell you the ending, you won't read it..... You will see, but keep in mind, war, never changes

I don't read the story for the endings, I read them for the journey.

As long as you know is all that really matters I guess.

So basically guy on spiritual journey trying to find a reason to live. Hmm. Seems kind of shallow. But you could take that sentence and run with it. It might help to establish the area and timeframe this is in, the factions that exist, the towns that may or may not have been created. Fleshing out the main protagonist might be a good idea too. Focus on his back story first, his family, friends, and lovers. How his town came to be destroyed, how that left him, etc. Some of that stuff may never show up in the actualy story. That's okay, it's for you anyways, it's so you know who that character and how he will react. As you actual begin to write you may seem continue to flesh out and his personality might become clear you then.

Well good luck, I think that one sentence is more than enough inspiration.

I like the basic concept you have come up for the story, though it needs 'filling out', and am looking forward to reading what you come up with.
