Vault Theme Reset

I'm about 150 hours into my 2nd playthrough on the Xbox. This time I decided to decorate (with the Vault theme) and set up the Megaton house as if it was a usable house and not just a trophy room (yes, I realize this is massive waste of time, but it's an immersion thing):

*schematics, tools, made weapons on the work bench
*skill books, Lincoln memorabilia, misc items from DLCs on the bookshelves
*a crate full of baseballs with a couple of bats and and a baseball hat in a corner
*box of detergent and a plunger on the floor by the sink
*bog bowl with a brahmin steak in it
*misc med supplies and Lesko's Lab Coat around infirmary/lab
*Nuka Cola trucks near the Nuka Cola machine
*some unique helmets and weapons on the shelves in the spare room
*and, the most painstaking part - stacked dishes, utensils, pans, cutting boards, the other crate full of silverware, a hotplate, a toaster, a coffeepot, and boxed food set up supermarket style on the kitchen shelves

It's some serious OCD sh*t.

My problem is at 148 hours in, having started this decorating as soon as I got the house, the vault theme reset moving the crates, pots, and phones back to the kitchen shelves. It probably took me over an hour to put everything back the way I want it...I'm not proud of that. And then at around hour 156 it did it again.

Am I fighting for a lost cause at this point? Is this going to keep happening more and more frequently? Am I doing something to trigger the reset? In Oblivion it seemed to help to remove and sell anything that came with the house. Is there a way to remove those phones (which I stashed behind the console in the spare bedroom)?
