[WIPz] Vault 13 & Vault 15

I'll make two versions of the mod. One modder's ressource that includes every feature mentioned in the first post. No quests. Just the NPCs, the interior building and the decorations.

The second one will be for players. Since I want to get myself some training with quests, I'll add the two quests that happen in Fallout 1 in Vault 13. One of them is about a water thief who steals water from the storage. The other one is preventing a mutiny (Or ending it using guns)

There will be no voice overs for dialogues.

I was also thinking of adding the three pre-made characters you can select in Fallout 1 as NPC Vault Dwellers. http://www.nma-fallout.com/content.php?page=fo-char-premade

The vaults were supposed to house up to 1000 people, more or less, and we have the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Votf.jpg on how they were supposed to be laid out. Why not re-making them big enough?

This is a personal project that I do to get the hang of most GECK features that I then release as a modder's ressource for Fallout 1 Total Conversions to use. I'm doing an exact replica of the two Vaults. If the said Total Conversion teams want to add more, it's their decision.

The Vault 13 security armor is just as undramatic, with a yellow "13" on the back. Woooo.

Seems nobody's stepped up to do Vault 15 stuff. Well, I'll do it, but only if Cliffworms posts a nice big screenshot expose of his completed Vault 13. That'll give me inspiration to want to see Vault 15. :)

P.S. Somebody tells those arseholes at NMA to pick this up!

Just take lots of screenshots! Isometric view, first person view, shot of NPCs (especially using Vault 13 jumpsuits and security armor :D) and stuff like that...

First what i'm about to say may contain spoilers from fallout 1, but I think you should make it so the player finds a water chip with a password and then has to get into the vault and talk to the overseer who will mention something along the lines of "hmm, well thats nice. The first guy never came back." just for some irony

The only two quests are the ones taking place inside the Vault that were in Fallout 1. I am not doing anything with the Water Chip. I'll let the modders work it out.

The Vault 13 as a modder's ressource (No NPCs, No items as decoration) is almost done. I've designed the outside caves. It's just a matter of placing rocks here and there.

After that, I'll do the Vault 13 with NPCs, schedules, items, ennemies (Rad roaches in the caves) and the two quests I was talking about earlier. I'm also thinking of adding a trigger the player can use to launch a Super Mutant assault on the Vault 13 to simulate what could have happened in Fallout 1 when you revealed your Vault's location to the Super Mutants or the Master as seen http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=PfyqlMBeQFU (Fallout 1 Bad Ending)

Another quick update.

Vault 15 is almost done! Hurray! Only the third floor (Command Center) is left. After that, it's game designing time. I'll add molerats and rad roaches in Vault 15, add NPCs to Vault 13 (43 NPCs total) and put their schedules and quests. :) It's coming along well!

I've also created Max Stone, Natalia and Albert, the three pre-made characters you could play with in Fallout 1. They will have unique dialogue fitting their personality, but nothing too fancy. :P

An interesting storyline idea is create a vault that is abandoned/taken over by raiders. (GECK tutorial for instance) Main character happens upon it, clears it out, and then is able to setup homebase in the whole thing. :) Script in npcs all over the wasteland that would be accepting of living joinging your new community. etc Main storylines will evolve from there I'm sure

I wouldn't mind making more Fallout 1 modding ressources. Junktown would be very cool to make, seeing how we have all assets to do it. Except Gizmo, his casino's sign and his slot machines.
I'll never create a Fallout TC though, just doing mercenary work for fun without getting involved in a team. :)

(Maybe I should do a Fallout 2 Vault 13 and Vault 15 next? :P
