You can eat 'em, but you would be running the risk of getting deathly ill. Sure, a can left in proper conditions with nothin but some dust on it could hold food safely near indefinitely, but a can that has been dented or is rusty is a can that has been compromised. Best throw it out, or give the can to someone who enjoys old containers, labels, etc. It just isn't worth the risk.
so its okay to feed them to my neighbors demon dog who wont ever shut up?
Are you that hungry?
Dear god, I can see it now. Poor gamers on the internet showing up in an infomercial with Sally and Larry.
Sally: "SilverEagle... {que in a distressing image of poor SilverEagle shoveling rancid food from a rusty can} A poor gamer forced to eat a 50 year old can of butter beans due to increasing IP costs. Will you let this injustice continue?"
Larry: *nods sympathetically* "Indeed, Sally. For only $29 a month this poor gamer can be fed a proper meal, and interwebed. All that for the daily cost of a cheap cup of gas station coffee".
lmao that made me laugh hard
