Vehicles: at first I was mad...

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 11:23 pm

But why should I be, exactly?

The Nanosuit 2 is probably more powerful then any vehicle this game has to offer. Not to mention the urban setting simply does not work for vehicles, especially airborne ones. And besides perhaps the tanks, Crysis has had pretty awful vehicles mechanics. A helicopter can point 90 degrees and not lose a foot of altitude. A VTOL can turn on a dime and go backwards, even though the engines don't maneuver that direction. Humvees are slow and hard to turn. Watercraft are essentially useless. And pretty much every ground vehicle in the original could be rolled over by a small pebble.

Crysis 2 doesn't really need vehicles if you think about. All it needed are the driveable APC's/Jeeps the game already has. Besides, PC modders can make a map with them if they feel like it.

Thank you for saying that which I've been saying. But I disagree with some of the comments. We do need vehicles.
We need that option. Otherwise it ain't Crysis. The Nano-suit is the star attraction, but the vehicles up the ante. I love splatting enemies. I also love the police cars. :D

why would you want ANY feature taken out of the game...whether you use it or not? Thats just going backwards. I too hope you can still drive in first person. Makes it have more immersion.

I just wish all the cars in crysis 2 didn't look the same. All the taxis and street cars seem to have the same model but different colors.

i hope there are parts where the street is so littered with vehicles that you have to jump on top of them to proceed. If a massive alien attack occured there would be pileups everywhere and people abandoning their vehicles...not to mention new york is always bumper to bumper regardless. And i doubt the marines would have cleared the vehicles because they would make many more pressing tasks :D

doesnt it sound fun to be super jumping from 18 wheeler to 18 wheeler because they are the highest vehicle in the sea of abandoned cars as you fight the aliens. Cars here and there blowing up and whatnot. sick!

I saw a clip in a trailer that appeared to be a first person view of a tank just like crysis 1's

.... I love splatting enemies ....
Game features are restricted to things you can't do in 'real life' , like wearing a nano-suit :)

Yes, helis and VTOLs will be usefull! But the game has to be moddable, so it can hold 16v16, or at least 10v10 to fill helis/VTOLs. I would love helis in Skyline!

I enjoy vehicles in SP to change up the set pieces and story line.

But in MP i think they are a huge annoyance and usually ruin the base gun play of the game.

BF is oook, But i still prefer just skill against skill.

I really have high hopes for crysis. I hope crytek delivers

I agree. But disagree with the vehicles comment.
Hopefully they are in the mix and hopefully someone can kick a car with a teammate in it where they can get a splatter kill and a kill assist. Now imagine that!

this is stupid , OF COURSE VEHICLES WORK in urban environment

i would say its even hypocritical to say , because for one they say its not work because on foot you have an advantage as infantry, yet you still dont want them because it takes an effort to kill a vehicle GRRRR sorry thats just dumb

i have to say i truly start to hate people who dislike vehicles

crysis1 had vehicles btw and it was not a problem there

what actually is the reality that they to LAZY to learn extra skills, combating different type enemies, obviusly you have to fight a tank and a foot soldier in a completely different way, and if you have multiple enemies OHHH NO you actually have to use your head, and not just your brilliant reflexed of point and shoot

Not aircraft or tanks. (at least not at street level, that's suicide)

Tanks would cause ridiculous collateral damage, because if a shot is missed, guess where that 120mm HEAP round hit? Buildings. A helicopter is very risky, and a jet is nearly suicide.

Humvees, cars, even APC's, sure. That is what is driveable in the game.

thats my point why cry about it IF you have an easy target, you can hide, the tank can not, so what is there to whine about

obviously that comment was only made to make an impact by a vehicle hater
