Vehicles... PLEASE! And more places with people.

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 7:45 am

Hi.

I'm Huge fan of Fallout series.

First:

One of the things that I've always wanted is.....: Vehicles!
C'mon Guys. On Skyrim, Oblivion there are horses and they hmm work?

Only Fallout which has vehicles is Tactics, and of course you've couldn't drive on whole map (except one or two maps of 20).

I don't think it's such a big deal for not making it. Especially when the newest interface gives players such huge amount of creating almost everything what you want.

Can You imagine creating Your own special vehicle and drive it whrough wasteland instead of infinite running?

Second:
Make more places with humans, more cities, towns, or little villages / towers / small communities with people whom You can talk / barter / quests etc.

It was a huge waste of potential imho in previous game. Except couple of cities, the rest was always Riders or Ghouls, which makes sometimes the whole running through Wasteland simply bornig.... (imho of course).

Best regards

p.s. hardcoe mode - don't forget it! :D

How about the ability to craft towns, and a jetpack?

Yes, Bethesda is good at "quantity over quality" approach. Vehichles are a waste of time and would kind of make encounters with critters pointless if you could just run them over.

I would love so much a car... or any vehicle. I think it would be awesome to craft it! A rusty vehicle that needs maintenance or it will break.

Yeah shooting them from a vertibird is a lot more challenging.

This. As far as I磎 concerned walking is the preferred method of transportation in the Fallout games. Sometimes flying but that should be rare.

That Vertibird will probably be on rails or otherwise very limited.

Yes vertibird is awesome thing, and jetpack also, but.... your own highwayman..... would be more awesome (for me, and i think not only for me).

hmmm why We shouldn't have got opportunity to run over something/somebody?
If you have sth like quad than logicaly it's more dangerous to go through a bunch of raiders cause hmmm they'll just shoot you out?

Of course car should be hard to find etc etc, but why not?

Like Darth Executor said:
If you can have fully armoured vertibird with lots of guns, than don't tell me that the car is bad because of running sth over.

It would be nice touch i think, and nobody will say to Me that going through wasteland and watching all those rusted cars haven't give him an idiea like: why i can't just repair it and go for a ride.

No i'm not dissappointed about that (cause i love vertibirds). But if vertibird can fly.....than i don't think that nobody on whole wasteland couldn't repair a car....

Honestly I'd rather just walk everywhere. The vertibird seems cool, but flying over everything takes the fun out of exploring for me.

By the time we get access to the Vertibird ordinary animals will probably no longer be much of a challenge--and those that are may use terrain as protection from aerial attack. Given the enaction of the anti-levitation act between Morrowind and Oblivion, I'd say that Bethesda are well aware of the issues presented by flight.

Cause it's nice idea of riding through wasteland, like a horse in oblivion/skyrim.
And I have to say - flying around in power armor than go somewhere by the car with your crew seems very (VERY) pointless and infertile.

I don't know - it's just an idea of having a car from pre-war commercial in fallout. I would like it, and Yes I know that it's some kind of making game easier - but anyone who wouldn't like to drive a car can run instead, so what's the case if They're making verti or jetpacks??

you don't fly the vertibird in game. you're standing in it's side door, shooting out.

or did i miss stg there?

anyway: there was kind of a focus on "restoring", "repairing", "scrounging", "building" "everything".

so i could pretty well imagine that, like, that jet pack we saw, is just one of many movement devices you could just plug together from scratch.

that same way, you maybe can repair any car you find, of tie it to a brahmin and have a carriage or whatever. it'll be interesting to see what that system is capable of anyway.

I think the best and most "fitting" vehicle would be a motorcycle. It allows you to travel, it can go offroad, it's not large enough to run people over. It would be the best way to go in my opinion.

I'd like to see constructible vehicles. As far as more people, I'd like to see some more people, but not too many. I like the feeling of desolation limited numbers of people create.

Agreed. I'm willing to bet it's part of a scripted event, not something you park next to your house.

I always thought a bicycle would be accessible transportation. All towns had a bike shop (in the old days). If not a complete bike, you should be able to get enough parts to coble one together. Build a tandem for you and your 'follower', or an advlt trike to haul gear or the dog.

Flat tires? Probably a real issue in the waste land. Perhaps tires stuffed with animal skins instead of tubes? Maybe tires made of tuff animal skins tied to the rims?

As a collector of 'fat tire bikes' from the '50's and earlier... they are everywhere if you just look.

Finally, why wouldn't I commandeer a Brahmen and cart from some trader? That always seemed to be the most obvious transportation (and easiest to get).

I would rather see the option to ride Death Claws, Yao Guai, Giant Rad Scorpions.

I would also want a vehicle. Fallout is a setting with atomic cars, and it would be nice to have one. I want to be able to go on a postapocalyptic road trip - me, a companion, the dog and a trunkful of guns driving around looking for interesting places to explore.

And it does not need to make encounters nonexistent. There's no reason why a bunch of raiders couldn't find a nice collapsed overpass somewhere and set up a toll gate there, or set up an ambush with snipers. Or you could even give one band of raiders their own vehicles and give them a nice, open area to use as their roaming grounds. And even if you don't do these things, the car doesn't need to be capable of going everywhere. We're talking about a 50's style town car, not a Marauder.
