Really impressive that you managed to become Champion of Cyrodil at level 12 using FCOM. I've no idea how you managed to get past Mankar Camaran considering there's a 20 level difference between your avatar and him until your character reaches level 25, where the difference start to dip.
I run FCOM and even at level 47, full magic resistance, spell absorb and 75% reflect damage, I still had to reload my game twice.


Haven't played Verona House : Bloodlines as I never seem to finish the MQ with any char, but what Shikishima said. It should be impossible to finish the MQ with FCOM (i.e. OOO) at Level 12 at default difficulty regardless of build/items, so something seems to be amiss regarding that. The same for some other parts of it, i.e. Xyval Vikyur etc. Perhaps a matter of NPC updating?

I don't even use FCOM and my character was level 40ish at the time I did this mod. Got knocked around quite a bit. My difficulty slider is at about 60%, and I had a companion too. :shrug:

I beat Mankar at level 12 truly, with difficulty at about 50%, took around 6 or 7 restarts though and I had to use several high level scrolls packing 200 or more damage in succsession just to even dent him at the start. Most difficult part was my weapon choices were a champion sword no enchant 18 atk power, blade being my highest skill, or a mace with weakness to shock 20% and 20pts shock damage. I was using the mace at the time hoping the weakness to shock would overthrow the difference in skill and damage rating, plus with wizard's fury. Mostly the scrolls were my only chance.

Problem I see really is don't most people try to find a right difficult slider balance and use it through the game, if your constantly turning it up and down then you'll never notice growth in your character, your undoing the more static enviorment FCOM provides. While turning it up probably would have helped in the case of this mod I would of likely had to turn it down again during some traveling as a set of fallenones or the blue type of goblins in a pack can do more damage to me than the night brethern were doing just due to FCOM.

Back to the level 12 thing, I really didn't know what level I should be at for this mod, seems most quest mods aim for level 25 to 30, problem I have is leveling is so slow with default FCOM, that I master of fighters guild, only 2 task away from finishing mages guild got mannimarco revisted so not even attempting it yet, I've finished Knights of the nine, and I've finished the main quest and I'm still level 12, now finishing this mod I'm level 13.

Last I was told my load order was good, I can probably turn my difficulty up some but I do remember the one gargoyle I met nearly wiped me out, I beat it at level 8 but I had to go a similar route like mankar, I used what good scrolls I had at the time just to survive, so turning up more I'm expecting to be dying more often again as the FCOM world is still tough. Maybe my skills with this game have just gotten that much better, my first play through with only francesco's mod I stopped at level 23, having finished most everything I wanted to do and got too interested in mods. This is my second playthrough, I'm hoping to take this character much higher in level and I've got plenty of quest mods to play through so hoping I will get that far.

I run FCOM at 85% with skill rates slowed through Progress to x7 slower than vanilla, use what I consider to be the best equipment available in the game, and still have to reload my last save possibly once every gaming session.
To me there sounds something seriously wrong with your setup.
In all honesty, running FCOM on default difficulty will make the completion of some guild quests, and certainly the main quest at level 12 an impossibility.
Just browse the CS to see the stats of either Mannimaro or Mankar Camaran with FCOM running and you'll perhaps understand what I'm getting at. Mankar has huge reflect damage, almost 100% magic resistance etc.
Scrolls of 200 damage would have little to no effect, which as your such a low level I'm surprised are even available for you to find. Jewelry, weapons and the armour to make this fight viable is just not available in the leveled lists for a level 12 avatar.
If using an enchanted weapon you'd only be damaging yourself. Basically the only way to defeat him is with a very high damage weapon without enchantment. (I'll never understand how magic users get past this guy)
As for the slower leveling, even after close to 1300 hours I have yet to visit S.I
I do use a large number of quest mods which may have a bit to do with that, but I feel that there too, something seems to be amiss. FCOM default is only 3 times slower.
By the way, re-reading my post from last night it may sound as though I was accusing you of using exploits, which was far from my intention, so I do apologize for the wording of some parts.

Not much to add to the above post.

The mod was designed as a Vanilla add on. It is aimed at a L15 to L25 NPC. However, I do accept that the Hunters Band is a little to much. I welcome any comments about balancing issues which are 'fixable' but of course as ever it is a question of taste and style.

Well I welcome all suggestions I want things to be how they were intended and I do like challenges but not to the point I die every 5 minutes or something.

Here is my load order, just updated to the latest FCOM today 0.9.9 believe it or not it fixed a ring I had oddly enough, there is a ring in the game shield ring you get during mages quest, it didn't have an enchantment before bugged obviously now, it has 6% about how I would expect it.

Actually after reviewing my difficulty slider was about 7 notches below half, so if this scale is a 100 mark scale, about 43 or something then, so a little low, and I actually knocked it up 2 notches during verona so I was probably using 41 during main quest

Basically when I fought mankar, I was wearing obsidian cuirass and greaves, using an elven shield, had 8% reflect damage, believe it was 6% reflect spell, think I was using one of the rings that boost skills 10 points for all the major spell groups, forget it's name now. The scrolls I had believe I picked up laying around places, I have frostcrag reborn, so I may of gotten a couple from in there, there is a few very powerful items in it, but the armors and such it has that are overpowered I wasn't using and don't really intend to use, also have OMG, think I may of gotten a couple scrolls from place it adds. I started main quest around level 8, did fighter's guild, most of mages guild and knights before it, knowing FCOM was suppose to be harder I wanted to be higher level this time going in. Most of main quest was difficult enough, not intensive except the first time I met a daedric prince in the bruma gate, that got very close without some help from the guard captain I didn't have a chance. Paradise wasn't that tough at level 12 didn't seem like, but mankar himself was. Xilval fury, just got unlucky I think, he attacked our group just as we exited the door, he got surrounded by 5 or so soldiers in the corner next to the door, since his focus wasn't on me or martin I could take a few swings to help make sure he didn't break through them all, he went down only due to be ganged up on, with little daedric help at that point since the other daedra hadn't gotten to us yet.

Just tested something today, turned up difficulty to truly half now, went to dark fissure, I met them once before during mages guild when I just waltzed in, they owned me when I was level 5 or 6, haven't faced one since, tried now at level 13 with difficulty higher. While I could take down 3 or 4 of them, they still owned me pretty good with damage health spells, without using my strongest health potions which I didn't try I couldn't keep enough health in, so it's obvious FCOM is working, as I'm seeing new enemies in the right places and difficulty seems higher than vanilla. Just think I need to keep that difficult slider up for sure as I think my skills have improved more than I've noticed as I kept it low before since I didn't play much of morrowind, so I came into oblivion a pure rookie almost.

I moved eyja down as it was glitching, and I played through it just recently, the cyrusskillmult, is a self made mod that just changes how many skill levels it takes to get a bonus, making it 1 instead of 2, so I don't micromanage and just take whatever the result at each level usually acceptable with 3's to 5's on my most used skills that level.

Also wanted to add, I know I talk a lot, but I do appreciate the help checking for bugs. First time playing with these mods so I really wouldn't be able to tell wether something should be possible or not in FCOM. Since I am facing a lot of this stuff higher level than I did in vanilla I assumed the results were as they should be.

Also sorry to take this thread off topic so much as well. Just to bring it back on topic I did want to say, I haven't checked but does the fight club start up again, actually thought that was a very enjoyable part of the mod and made hand to hand useful and fun for a part there.

The fact that the Shield Ring was unenchanted before your upgrade just furthers my suspicions that your previous install was faulty..
Certainly there appears nothing wrong with your current load order.
I suggest re-leveling your NPC's through Wrye Bash and waiting out the re-spawn.
From there attempt either Fort Rayles or Sardavar Leed.
The Guardian of Oblivion enemies you encounter will determine if in fact your previous installation of FCOM was faulty. You should under no circumstance be able to battle through either before your level 20.

Actually I found the above posts to be quite informing. I think I'll stick to my grandma way of playing and tho I like a challenge, FCOM scares me. LOL

Noticed the comments on Nexus, just wanted to congratulate you DTOM for a great MOD and hope all is well in your world.

Nothing personal selerna, but your mod loading order is pretty messy.
I suggest reordering using Wrye bash using this thread http://devnull.devakm.googlepages.com/loadorder as a general guide.
Your order can have significant impact on performance, stability and game play.
What version of OOO are you using?
Anyway, try the suggestion about load order and see if the conflict is still there. If so repost your new mod list and we can have another look, although you run a few mods that I'm unfamiliar with.
We'll get you fixed somehow. :)

Downloaded, looking forward to it - only about 5 quests away from finishing the MQ if I feel like skipping some of the allies for bruma missions, can't really be bothered to explore all those sameish Oblivion realms!

Really looking forward to this though based on the huge amount of positive feedback, should be great :D
so many large-scale quests to do, so little time...hah!

Will be the version 11 patch be available for vanilla soon? I haven't seen any mention since mid-June on page 5 of the thread. thanks, won't effect me yet as I'm not starting the quest!

Hey guys, sorry to bother you but I am having some issues with Verona house. First off, I am loving the quest mod. It is amazing. now to the problem part. I am crashing frequently once I finish my first quest. The first one being Argul (or whatever his name is).. I am not sure what I should do. I tried deactivating the Verona House ESP and restarting the quest. I re did it all and after the first quest was done, I began having the same issues as I was before.
Not sure what to do here guys, sorry for the problem!

Thanks for any help that is given in advance.

Possibly a load order issue.
Use Wrye Bash to post your order so we can see which mod versions your using and if applicable what's been merged into your patch.
Open Bash>Mods>right click File>scroll to List Mods, then copy and paste into your post.

Anoriel did all the Character work as well as flinn for the DBC. I never had a use for it
