i get to the control tower at Helios One and nothing happens when at the reflector conrol, ( i can still arm the archemdes weapon, but this just fires off and wipes out a few NCR and gives you a slight worse rep with the NCR) is it because i've already re-routed power on a prevous quest? Also the quest details Discuss your remaining options with Veronica, i've tried talking to her but no replies advance the situation, same thing when we return to the Brotherhood....anynoe had this kinda trauma!?

I have had Veronica with me on the quest "I could make you care" however after finding the rangefinder, i find that i am unable to to enable it!

Her quest wont even activate 8/10 times and this only happens in my EW/BoS playthroughs. If I join any other faction, all her triggers work properly every time.

i eventually got a result from WIKI, where i returned to vault 34 and retrieved the pulse gun, took it and Veronica back the Hidden Valley, i'm back on track after a run in with the BoS at the followers outpost.
i'm now on with the Happy Trails caravan DLC 45 autos galore!

Yea, I tried all that and more and the triggers still didnt work properly. I got 2 out 3 at random times but the last one never triggered.

While the question of activating her quest is answered, I can answer the rangefinder one. You activated ARCHIMEDES ONE, not ARCHIMEDES TWO. They are completely separate things. ARCHIMEDES ONE kills NCR and gives you infamy. ARCHIMEDES TWO doesn't kill anyone and allows you to use the rangefinder as a weapon. If you didn't give the power to ARCHIMEDES TWO when you first gave power, you can't switch it and thus you can't use the rangefinder. This is why always going for the satellite is the best option
