Veronica quest - I could make you care

Post » Tue Jun 29, 2010 5:50 pm

Do you have to get a lock pick skill at 50 or 100 to make this quest?

Thanks for now

It depends which piece of tech you're going after. I believe you need a lockpick of 100 to get the pulse gun. If you don't have enough skill you could talk to Veronica and say you should go after one of the other items, assuming you haven't finished "That Old Lucky Sun" or "There Grows the Grass".

The BoS Bunker or one of the places were you find a Weapon/Technology? Because the BoS bunker is opened by Veronica.

Yep. I thought that was amusing; she walks up and talks into the intercom like she's at a burger drivethrough and basically gets a "Veronica, cut the crap." :slap:
I think Veronica's my favorite companion; nice to have someone who doesn't take everything seriously. :hugs:

I understand from the wiki that I have to trigger some events to start this quest. Should I be getting some form of notification from Veronica that I have done what I'm supposed to do? eg When I enter the Camp McCarren main building (which I understand is a trigger), should she say something or should there be another dialogue option available? I've done this, the entrance to Vault 3 and she was there when I spoke to Hildern for the first time. She hasn't said anything at all yet.

I've just been to Nelson (which is another trigger), but nothing there either. Is it a bug or am I missing something?

Understanding these trigger points, are not just being at the locations, but actually crosssing a certain trigger location in that area.

I believe you need a lockpick of 100 to get the pulse gun.

No you don't. There's a key at Nellis. There's even a quest marker leading to it.

The triggers for the quest are seriously messed up. I tried half of them and non worked. I thought it was because I didn't proceed with the main quest (as is the case with Arcade) but then I got a trigger at someplace that had nothing to do with the quest. That's when I realized I hit a bug or something.

The easiest way to initiate the quest is (assuming you're on PC) take Veronica to Gibson's Shack, unlock the computer through console and use it.

But that's just part of the problem because there are possible glitches at:
1-Finding tech. Sometimes she won't realize you have the Pulse Gun and quest won't proceed.
2-Elder talk. She won't initiate conversation with McNamara and/or you.
3-Paladin's at the end. Veronica becomes stuck.

To whoever coded this quest: I've got a mini nuke with your name on it. One of the imba ones I saved from FO3.

I've tried all sorts of ways to get the triggers. Anybody know any console commands to initiate the quest?

I'm Having a similar issue as I am not sure to exactly what part of the area i need to be to trigger the quest. And I went to fort Mormon for the first time with veronica and for some reason when I do the actual trigger (when you first talk to the doctor with a Mohawk) nothing happens did it work and how should I know if it dose work. Plz help this is seriously enraging me o and I have playing this on an xbox.

Same issue. I got her to do it on one play through but I'll be damned if I can get a peep out of her at any trigger point on this play through.

Same thing with ED-E some stuff triggers him other stuff (that has in previous play throughs) seems not to.

I love and hate this game so much.

For what it's worth I checked the wiki and I'm in the right places, dunno what to do, I really need to location ones (McCarren, Vault 3, Nelson/Cottonwood) to trigger her as I've exhausted several of the speech ones.

Note: Checking the wiki it's OBSCENE how many bugs this quest line has...seriously, did Obsidian NOT expect players to do companion quests? Lazy, lazy, lazy.

If only I were on PC...

Having Veronica along as a companion is the best. She opens the door and her banter with the rest of the BoS people as you walk through just can't be missed. So don't miss it.

Veronica's triggers worked for me.

First I entered Vault three with her. She talked.

Next I entered the Followers Fort. She talked.

She also talked after the Museum tour at Nellis.

And she talked in Fort McCarren.
