CS version too old?

Post » Mon Nov 08, 2010 11:17 am

I just bought the GOTY edition of Oblivion and installed it, then started playing the Sivering Isles. I got a cool idea for a mod, but when I tried to load the CS it said "File Oblivion.esm is a higher version than this EXE can load." Quick question, how do I update my CS/install a newer version? And if I do, can I still use my old mods? I'm sad without modability:(

Check your CS version. If your game version is 1.1x or higher, CS 1.2.404 is needed to open Oblivion.esm(and make your mod).

Make sure you've got the http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/TES_Construction_Set of the CS. Generally, the only use for the older CS is for creating .lip files, so most available mods will open with v1.2.
