Couldn't find the answer to this on the wiki--does the mounted Minigun scale with heavy weapons?

i remember reading somewhere that they are different

minigun does 8 damage (base)

NPC vertibird minigun does 5 damage (prob part of reason vertibirds svck so bad, low HP massive target and less damage then normal)

player vertibird minigun does 25 damage

i dont remember anything about perks, but being that the player vertibird minigun already does 5x the damage probably not?

Aside of its use in the one BoS mission,

I find the use of the minigun on a 'spray and pray' basis en route to be pretty pointless...
