a very controversial, but popular, topic

Poor India and Austrailia....

I feel sorry for any country or person who is still so bakcwards that nudity offends them. I'm not saying that to offend anyone or as an insult, it's genuinely sad to think about how people feel the need to condemn the most natural thing in the world. Condemning violence is at least a viewpoint I can understand, even if it's not my own, but nudity? it's ridiculous and it does far more harm than good.

dude wut r utalking about...GTA San Andreas was like the best selling game that year... everyone played that game... of course he heard of San Andreas. In fact iw as more populr then any TES game... hard to swallow but i'm sure its true. way more mainstream then TES

I take contention with people saying it's "the most natural thing in the world" It is natural, there is no such thing as most natural. A naked human is no more/less natural than a naked flower. I don't mind people being opposed to public nudity. I for one would not like to live in a country that has naked people roaming the streets, it would be nasty(hygenicly) aside from disturbing. Nnote I am the one who posted the thread for it :P, but that's my stance on the issue.

I have absolutely no urge to prance around playing Skankady [censored] [censored] the Dunmer prosttute like everyone else. Sorry. In fact, that's one of the reasons I came to hate looking for mods on Nexus, every two seconds I was being assaulted by womanliness because every other mod was catered to the Better Bouncing Boobs/HGEC/Fantasy Figures crowd. I would just turn off the "View Mature" option except I'd be missing a few mods that are under that filter for blood and the like.

I don't care for nudity in video games. I would like unequipable underwear, but for fasion, not to get off on it.

Edit: Really? That's censored? This forum has the oddest filters I've ever seen.

No thanks. This isn't The Nekkid Scrolls. I really don't need to see genitals flapping in the wind.

Nudity and its acceptability is highly context-sensitive. Personally, I don't think universal NPC nudity has any place in a game like Skyrim. Artistic nudity/non-sixual nudity I don't mind, but it is heavily context and setting-dependent, as well as dependent on how an individual interprets the context and setting. For example, I don't really have any strong opposition to how Azura was visually portrayed in Daggerfall. If all the DF NPCs took their tops and bottoms off and waggled their bits in my face - that is something I would have a problem with.

The game should not ship with nudity. Too much controversy as so many people have already said. Now I don't have a problem with nudity. I played with Better Bodies, actually tried both with and without undies, and used various body mods for Oblivion.

And for the people who suggest upper body only nudity, really? That is so unfair! You get to see female goodies, while everyone else gets hosed? :swear:

Female upper body nudity is more likely to get a pass from the media watchdogs.

I don't want nudity in my games; it adds nothing for me, and since I have younger sibs I'd like to be able to play with them in the room.

I never said anything about public nudity. You're taking it to an extreme and when i say "Most natural thing in the world", I do not mean that literally, it's a figure of speech.

My point is in short, there is nothing inherently wrong with nudity. That doesn't mean I want to see everyone naked.

I'm not so sure. Video game industry so far hasn't been able to get away with what the Movie and television industry can. For instance, they can show commercials for Movies or broadcast tv shows that feature swearing and other graphic things (violence, six, drugs). But, if it is a video game trailer with even the hint of blood, you are pressured into putting up those silly "put in your birthday" crap.

you should have seen the vulgar mods for oblivion, erotic mods. Unequippedable underwear is not pormo though.

I keep my advlt-Content filter set to "on" at TESNexus. :spotted owl:

yeah, I know nudity =/= porm. I was just using hyperbole. I edited that bit in my post to reduce any misunderstanding, since hyperbole isn't easy to detect with just text.

I don't recall any great fire and brim stone controversy over the complete toplessness of half of God of War 3's female cast.

Well, whining and complaining can be tiring, I bet the protestors were just taking a nap.

I'm very opposed to the double standard. Though personally I didn't even know about it, or cared, because I found the god of war games to be lame and annoying.

I do find it sadly ironic though, that this is the state of the society we live in. Its okay to create a game where we can slaughter villages, but a little virtual skin is considered some huge contoversial issue.

Lol it's sad that in game nudity is more frowned apon than murder, just a thought.

Sounds good to me. I am in. As long as it's optional, i don't really understand why anyone would be against it. You don't have to use it people, what's the problem? What right do you have to decide how other people should play the game? And don't tell me it would hurt it's sales. If that was the case, then why in the world does games like Mass Effect, Heavy Rain, God of War and the Witcher sell so well?

This. I don't see the problem from a moral point view, certainly not in a game where you can basically commit genocide if you want to. It's the most natural thing in the world.

I personally don't care one way or the other. Some may argue realism, others may have a desire to roleplay as necrophilliac necromancers--who knows? But ultimately, from a business standpoint its a terrible idea, and we all know why. I do find it sadly ironic though, that this is the state of the society we live in. Its okay to create a game where we can slaughter villages, but a little virtual skin is considered some huge contoversial issue.

This^ I would have no issue with it my self, but its just not worth the hassle for Beth.

I'm continuously amazed how in this society there's no problem on killing someone with dual wield axes or with a shotgun (in a game, of course), but there's controversy if a character appears nvde (not even with a boner*, simply without clothes). It's just incredibly hypocrital.

So yes, a nudity option for me, thanks.

If the word doesn't look like this:

[censored]

Then it's allowed.

Where is the "I don't care" option?

Anyway, I don't think it will happen, and we all know why. Besides, it is not important or essential to the game at all, unless your only purpose when playing is to kill enemies in order to strip them of their clothes and see their "parts".

I can see how it would have worked in a specific environment (The House of Earthly Delights in Suran, for instance), but other than that it is not important in the game.

No, i would like to think that the world of TES is at least bound by similar rules than our world. Meaning that not every woman looks like a freaking porm star with huge [censored]. And not every man looks like a male model and has a giant [censored].
Unless that by better bodies you don′t mean the nexus mods, but realistic bodies...in that case i′m fine with it

Don't want it, don't like it, can not see why this is even an issue. Is it honestly more "mature" to have NPCs run around naked, or is it really just some sixual fantasy? Really, is the lack of male and female genitalia that detrimental to the game?

Keep the underwear.

Also, what Alaisiagae and Lattice said.
