A very controversial, but popular, topic #2

I'm sure you have actual reasons for not wanting it in, immature is mainly a throw-away answer. Why don't you really want it in?

Fine.

I don't want it in because its pointless. I don't mind carefully done six scenes but there is no need for nudity. As quoting Game Informer

"It re-enforces the old steriotype that games are awkward losers."

We don't want it, because some things are unnecessary, just leave the game the way it is, adding nudity won't improve the game at all.

You really want nudity, don't you?

Just leave it man. Read your own thread, no one gives a crap, no one really wants it.

Read the other thread man, 113 people wanted it and 98 people didn't meaning more people want it than don't. I wouldn't call 113 people no one.

Don't really see the problem with it. Not that I necessarily enjoy the idea of seeing everyone around me nvde, but it's just skin for the most part.

My intent and own reactions are what characterize the situation. I've looked at lingerie WITH my fiancee on the internet with the intent to see what we'd ennjoy She's actually initiated the instance more than I have. She wasn't upset that there were scantily(and at times, practically nvde) women in that lingerie...she knew my intent and reason for looking. By many beliefs, she should be outraged becuase I was willingly looking at nvde or near nvde images of other women. But she wasn't, because she's rational. The intent and reaction is what mattered. We were looking to decide on what we thought we'd like...not so I could foam at the mouth at b00bs or nekkid girlz.

Personally, it's just a small realism bit that could be used for amusemant or immersion in the game to me. I'm not going to run around nvde unless there are some benefits(whether it's just a few comedic one-liners or what have you) to it. I want it in for that reason alone. I realize many...most?...don't see it in the same light. That's there loss in my opinion...which also will result in my loss. It's a small one really, a very small one. In fact, I don't care all that much. Just spitballing here really.

"In, I want it": 58
"Out, I don't want it": 94
"Out, i think it would hurt Bethesda too much, though would like it": 55

58 vs 94+55.

I don't want it mainly for the trouble it would bring, to be honest I use nvde mods in my Oblivion, but I'd rather leave it completely optional in mods, not for me, but for a bunch of other players.

Learn to math.

Not an accurate sampling so doesn't matter.

I find it amusing that daggerfall has full blown nudity as did alot of games around its time. Yet now its totally unacceptable, despite that movies do it all the time. Bethesda isn't going to add nudity to the game hell i'll be shocked if it actually gets a M rating this time since i think they'll still want to do a T rating. Whoever left in that topless game file for Oblivion probably got his ear chewed off or maybe even fired. I'm amazed Duke Nukem Forever looks like it'll have nudity of course because of that Australia is going to ban it.

But having nudity does not make a game mature.

According to the ESRB it does.

Wanting nudity for realism's sake is not at all immature. Insisting nudity be put in for realism sake and ignoring the political and fiscal ramifications upon the developer IS immature.

Yeah ditto, me and a female friend of mine both agree on this issue and did virtual the same thing, we were booth Bad-A archmages and wanted to show just how much tougher we were than our enemies, so to both lower their moral and fluant our superiourty we played the game naked. The one liners were hillarious though, though just didn't make since with the glued on knickers.

Well, games weren't such a big deal back before. Now we have all the media over it and people like FOX News, ESRB ratings, etc. It wouldn't end well for big companies like Bethesda which lots of players are young and have parents that would treat that as a bad thing.

People's mind nowadays are just full of crap, and things like that would only provoke them, so I'd rather lay low.

You missed out on the "though would like it" or just ignored it. Also I do agree that the ramifications that "putting it in" the vanilla would be problamatic. That's why I voted for "Out, i think it would hurt Bethesda too much, though would like it" Once again, "though would like it"

I know they won't be adding nvde bodies to the game, they never have before and there is absolutely No reason for them to do so now.

Frankly I don't think nudity adds Anything to an AD&D-like, Single-player fantasy game - and for those who want it, Nexus is chocked full of the stuff.

It will probably be less than one month before nudity and smut hits Nexus for Skyrim, so those who want it will be able to get it.

Thankfully, the rest of us won't have to worry about it. :)

Does anyone actually think there's a chance for this game to have nudity? I hope not, cause you'd be dissappointed.
I would not want to have nudity, I don't see the merits of it. Immersion? Realism? I don't need to see naked people to become immersed, it's just unnecessary.
If you really want it then wait for mods, in which case it's guaranteed to happen.

Are you paying attention? FO3 had an age check at the entrance to the official site just as Skyrim does. That means they are planning to have a mature rating.

"OUT"

They want it out, though they would like to see it, they still want it OUT! Understand?

I didn't say wanted it in I said 113 people wanted it period. No one is trying to force Skyrim to have this option in it. However there are many of us that thinks the stigma and biased against it is ridiculous so we hold discussions like this.

While being somewhat off topic (not regarding Skyrim in particular), games will probably never be taken seriously regading six and nudity if it's portrayed in games as nothing more than "nice [censored]" and "sixy chicks". Nudity and all that comes with it needs to be explored with maturity and carefully explored at that, instead of just having naked NPCs offering six to your character. While I'm not a big fan of BioWare, at least they are on the right track by having emotional relations included, although I personally don't really care much for that. By just having nudity (and just six for that matter) in a game for no reason, to just have it, just makes a game lose it's integrity as a piece of virtual art and as a respected form of entertainment.

An age check on the website, that's proof? I'll admit it does look like it'll be a more mature game but I'll believe its M rated when its actually rated. Until then there's nothing stopping them from making it T rated.

I would like someone who is for it to give a reason why it isn't unnecessary. It would not add immersion, only remove it. If an enemy has armor and I take it all I don't need to see their private parts. If you were actually taking someone's armor would you take their underwear? No.

Edit: If it is present in a mature way and only at certain times I would be okay with it. But at the moment the main reason people want it in is that it you could do "funny" things.

Finally you say something I agree with.
There is no reasons to have nudity for the sake of nudity, by that I mean perverts who like to have it just to oogel the goodies. But there are many RPing factors and immersion factors (though I'll add it's not needed for immersion, but when you see underwear pasted on a fella it takes makes you wonder about why.) Heck I wouldn't even care if the men were ken dolls and the women were flat chested.

That is not contradictory to the proposal. When you take someone's armor you do not have to take their underwear, but you can see it in their inventory, like you can see shoes and shirts. Also if you want to see reasons for immersion check the original thread.
