Very late, but please help..

I am level 15, and have recently encountered the project purity screen freeze. i have the patch downloaded but it does not work. If i had known of this glitch, i would not have done this main quest, but hindsight is always in 20 20..

anyways, i have no other saves to go back to, for i always save over recent ones to minimize loading. i am on the XBOX 360 by the way.

if anyone knows how to bypass this screen freeze all help will be appreciated.

my last save is at a level eight. as i said i am level fifteen and have the broken steel add on downloaded and i would not like it to go to waste. PLEASE HELP

err i don't know but try waiting a couple of days in game and in real life, kill yourself in game(don't do this in real life!), restart your console, delete the patch and play offline and see what happens, run around in circles for several hours. these are just suggestions and i hope one of them will work for you, best of luck

What happens on your screen? Are you at the purifier? Isn't there an auto-save when you entered the rotunda? Clear your cache? Keep more saves. I too, am on the 360, I have about 15 saves, always creating a new one, never overwriting an old one. And every other game session, I delete old saves. I save before I go in a building, hole, etc. I save about every 30 minutes out in the wastes.

FO3 being so big, sometimes there are glitches. Clear the cache, reload the save..... I crash in Tranquility Lane all the time cuz I'm looking for my Pip Boy.

i've heard that if you have a glitched save it will never work, i'm most likely going to go back to a save ten hours or so back. which is like eight levels.

No. First try what the other poster said. Kill yourself with grenades / mines and let the autoload return you, and see if it plays well from there.

The only other thing I know is for you to disallow Fallout3.exe from using ffdshow. If you have installed any codec packages then you have ffdshow. Play any supported video from your computer and two boxes should show in your system icons in the lower right. Right click the red one and select ffdshow video decoder. In the box, select the directshow control, check the don't use ffdshow in box and add Fallout3.exe to the list. Then right click the blue one and do the same with ffdshow audio decoder.

Edit:
Augh... unintentional thread necromancy on my part.
