[Relz] Vibliribland's Epic Dungeons

Post » Sun Aug 29, 2010 5:29 pm

I've downloaded all the dungeons, and I'm a bit frustrated, not because I got my *** kicked (my lvl49 Orc should kill everything) It's just the reflect damage thing that I really hate. In fact enemies don't kill me, I kill myself by hitting them. And I don't want to carry 400 potions around just to be able to complete the dungeon. I prefer tactical fight, but again that's my view. I've encountered this in the dragon citadel and in the goblin city. The shamans are maybe a bit too strong they just do almost 100 damage with their bare hand, although I have a dadric prince armor (OOO 1.3 armor)
The other dungeons I've done are sweet though (TLK, Blackrock thinghy)
One last thing, I was not able to complete the dragon citadel quest. When I come back to the dude, he just says "Greetings, I've heard of you".

Did you pick up the Gem and had it on your inventory when you got back to him?

The dungeons might seem a bit hard, However, they are designed to be extremely tough and very demanding on both your gold as well as your equipment.

Many of the players at these high levels have aquired armors which grant over 50% resistance to pretty muich everything, and in many cases 100%. So to counter this and take them down to a healty level things get very tough if your your gear doesn't match the task.

With full Tier 3 (Dropped in The Lich Kings tower) And some nice weapons from there or elsewhere it shouldn't be impossible tough.

I've acctully buffed up the magic users (Magic vise, not thier melee capacity) to both make the armor sets dropped more viable with their spread effects, (not just 100% of one this) to counter the many, many debuffs you will encounter at once. Also to better align magic and the fact that you can easily dodge spells comming at you.

Have fun and be persistent =)

Ohh, and by the way, without some heavy scripting which demand time, it's pretty much impossible to make nice and tacitcal fights, because of the very limited magic effects. I care to disagree tough, since I find the Shardtail fight tactical to a healthy degree. And as allways if you have some constructive suggestions on for example how to make some tactical fights to hesitate to send me a PM about it.

Yes I picked up the gem, but it still says "I've heard of you".

As far as the dungeons are concerned, I guess I'll have to take my "cheating" gear with me: they reflect damage? so will I :-) and badly.

By tactical fight I meant fighting a guy without the feeling of killing myself by hitting him. I have no problem with an NPC being lvl 50 and who has a lot of stats and skills maxed, as long as it does not reflect 100% of what I give him. Reflect up to 25/30% is enough imo, otherwise it's just the one who has more potions that wins, which is too bad.

I had more fun fighting the magic users than the melee fighters, especially the Demon (fire and frost) in the Dragon Citadel.

I'll go through my gear to be sure that I pick up the best of it, and give another shot at the goblin city.

Thanks for the reply.

Just passing by, really..
I downloaded your 5 mods for the first time loong time ago (exept for The Dragon Citadel). And now I have got your latest versions. The mods are very good: Infact I dont want to name one favourite amongst them. They are all very good, and of exellent playability.
Just wanted to thank you, havent done that before so: Many thanks!

Vibliribland, I updated Dragon Citadel to the latest version today at TESS (v1.7) and it's broken again. Some enemies are fighting each other instead of me. It's like the enemy dispositions are all screwed up. The last version worked perfect. God damnit and I simply overwrote it with the new and forgot to back the old like I usually do. Why doesn't TESS allow you download older versions? If anybody has the old version (v1.6) please upload it to rapidshare or whatever. It would be greatly appreciated as Dragon Citadel is the only dungeon I play on a frequent basis.

Just thought I'd mention that the Ancient Goblin City exterior clashes with the http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=3725 mod. Nothing major, you can still access both places, but the house that the other mod adds gets stuck in the ground.

Hi boys and girls.
Yes Im still alive =)

For those who wonder why I don't fix those few bugs that are left in the game, Im on a around the world travel for 5 months (2.5 left) so I can't really work on the mods.
I will however fix them all to 100% when I get back as well as add new stuff, balance them out and rework most of the envoirement in "The Dragon Citadell" to a more unique atmopshere.

Keep playing, keep downloading and keep posting encouraging comments and I'll make some more stuff for you to conquer.

Sleep tight.

Sounds like good times, vibliribland. I did the same just before Oblivion's release, that's such good fun. Actually, I'm impressed you're even responding in these forums with that happening. Don't worry, everyone here will be able to sit tight and wait for your return!

Hey Vib! Whens the next dungeon coming out? Unless you are in a mud hut somewhere, you must have access to a PC .... :)

http://www.castle-grounds.co.uk/oblivion/home.htm are back up again, so those they have not seen them, can read through them in all their glory before you try them. They are by there very nature high spoiler pages to the mods.

I took a pic at Chudley's pages for these mods, and I can't wait to download them :)

IMHO, there aren't really enough complex dungeons in Oblivion... hopefully these will have some good ones.

Wondering... what level do you people recommend that I be before I start these dungeons? (If this helps my character is a jack of all trades, but specializes in combat)
