Another thread. Looks like from oblivion I'm judging by the lighting that it's has a specular map.

This can be a fun game. Post a screen from another thread and everyone guess what thread it's from. :foodndrink:

I've got no problem with people playing it from this thread. This thread is self running anyways.

I'm echoing the "wow" on the Hlaalu textures. I also like most of your nature textures. However, I don't really like the texture you use outside Ald-ruhn. When it's in the city, it seems fine, like they laid stone inside the city. But outside the city, it doesn't fit to me. Does the http://phy-img11.imageshack.us/img11/3803/ashlandsregion7.jpg not show it off well enough and it looks really nice from far off?

Thanks for your opinion. But the name of this is Vibrant Morrrowind. So I follow no rules, which is the only way a vision can be. It's not trying to be a main stream release. So meaning no disrespect but..... :meh:

P.S. the stones are part of a road system..I.E. Ashland mainroad is the name of the textures so as you may not like it in a screen...when you travel a lot you'll see it's usefulness.

Most ashland textures are place holders. Plus the colors are not hued or blended. But this is a W.I.P.

Sorry about that, I tend to go through several screenshot threads and open all the images in background tabs, wait for them to load then look at them later. So I got it mixed up for a second.

I still say we should play what thread is this screenshot from in this thread.

A put a distance blur on my mge. So it's distance 10 and distance blur 1. Otherwise no FX.

I usually stick to the more traditional textures (vide the immortal Visual Pack), but I must say, that your work looks damn awesome! :goodjob:

Cool name you've got there Lord Avatar.
Yea, I'm friends with many of the authors of that pack. I enjoy those textures as well as Qarl's add-on.

It has nothing to do with the movie (I enjoyed it nevertheless) - it's a nickname as ancient, as myself (almost...). Thanks anyway. :)

Oh, I assumed you are one of Vibrant Morrowind's texturers as well (you just made it sound as if none of this was your work).

I only have one word: Impressive! Keep up the good work. :goodjob: I also like that you don't use any shaders. In general I'm very satisfied with the default lighting in Morrowind. I have seen many screenshots with various shaders applied and imo most people overuse them and try too imitate HDR lighting. And beside I don't have a super new PC or a high-end graphics card. I'm still have alot too learn about MGE and general optimizing distant land. Sometimes I even feel more comfortable without all this DL. I'm an old schooler :dancing: New textures that stay close too the original game is more my taste, but I also like too experiment from time too time and I don't think I can resist testing you new Vibrant Morrowind when it's finish. Even if it's isn't my favorite style.

Btw skydye what settings are you using in MGE when you generate distant land?

EDIT: By reading in the project thread over at Flig.'s forums I found out that you use 10 in distant. I assume you don't use any other effects such as reflective water and such things. Can you collaborate on this, please.

Sorry about that. headless wonder and myself are doing this. She does most of the textures on buildings.

Took a page from Spiffyman and I decided to update the Ashland road and the Ashland land scape a bit. it's more dry desert like to match the brown ash storm clouds of the games. Don't know why the game has the Ashland gray ashen but the ash storm clouds are brown in the game. The Ashland Main road still need some hue tinting but I like the ashlands better this way.

MGE can't use the games Pixel Shader. So I use the default MGE setting for the water. I don't have a choice. But no other effects just distant land 9.0 and distant blur of 1.0. It's easier too work that way. . MGE is perfect for balancing the landscapes color tones and the temperature of the hues. It's pretty much how I'd see a landscape if I was to paint it.

Once I get the landscape balanced I'll stop using MGE altogether.
