Work in progress. Vibrant Morrowind 4.0

Vibrant Morrowind still seems to have a market. So why not continue the series?

Yay! I love my Vibrant Morrowind and wouldn't think of doing without it in a single game! Can I make a request? I also love your vibrant skies but was thinking how wonderful they would look on updated more detailed meshes like those in http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=81745&id=7066 mod. Would it be possible to get an update to Vibrant Skies too? Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top!

Try and get an ok from you for including one or more of your expansions. The vibrant series always tried to be a group project... it's just funner that way. :foodndrink:

Because of the problems of changing a sky from 4 meshes to one mesh.... I can't fully support that project.

I can test SWG system and I think he has gotten a lot of bugs out of it and he's still supporting it. If you would like to ask him if he wouldn't mind me making replacement textures for the sky?
I haven't talked with him for about 4 or 6 months so I don't know how active he is now.

You can try him at fliggerty's forum.

I'm taking screens of lighting and tree mods for this. Plus screens of the mood of the w.i.p.

All screenshots are just for testing. They may not and most likely will never make the final released project.

I wouldn't mind you using the meshes, Vurt made some textures to work with my mod, and it says in the readme that the meshes are a resource, so, do what you wish. :)

If that's the case. Then just change the names of vibrant skies you have now to the file names in SWG's release and they will appear. :foodndrink:

I think you're kind of missing the point. According to SWG's site, emphasis mine:

Daytime and nighttime sky textures and meshes have been replaced, in a way no other sky mod for Morrowind does, I've changed the UVmaps on the night and day sky meshes..

Which I'm pretty sure means textures created for the original meshes won't look right on the new ones with a simply overwrite.

It should be noted that SWGs_Skies_v3 won't work for everyone.
It's meshes require textures so big that they won't work on some PCs.
(They won't work on mine, for example...)

No sour graqes, though. I love all of starwarsguy9875's stuff.
I use SWGs_Skies_v2 myself. Almost as good, and will work for just about everyone.

If you want to use starwarsguy9875's skies, you should use v2 by default, and recommend v3 optionally.
I don't know if v2 is still widely available, though, if at all...

Hey starwarsguy9875, if you are still around, would you mind if I offer to re-up v2 for this, to PES?
I still have my copy, and would be willing to share it for this project, if you don't mind.
(v3 is awesome, but not everyone can use it.)

I'm a big fan of starwarsguy9875's work, and I use Vibrant Morrowind v3 all the time.
I would really like to see a new version of VM made, and would love to help, if I can. ;)

Edit: If you would prefer skydye, you could PM me, and perhaps we could make some arrangement.
Maybe I could E-mail it to you. What do you think?

Hi Skydye,

Best of luck on this! Is this an entirely new project, or will you be using any of the textures that you created for your Krum WIP?

I'm pretty clear on the fact that this is about vibrant morrowind 4.0 and has nothing to do with SWG's wonderful release. So can we all just end all talk about that subject please.

PS. If someone has anything to offer to the project, then the p.m. system is the way to go.

I deleted Krum from being a release. It was the worst title for a release ever. I've got Vibrant Morrowind 3.0 installed. I'm using MGE distance set at 10 and no other MGE tricks used.
All textures in the new release will be new as in all of the series each release is completely different. Screen shot right now show the work on the kight mod and the tree mod. The textures will be replaced many times over in the whole process.

That looks nice!

Now I won't need Windows Glow. Saves me a spot on my plugin list. ^_^

Yea many people use more than one light mod at the same time. Most of the time this just make none of them work the way they were made to work.
V.M. 3.0 already has vibrant lights. You can get this right now. I'll be updating both vibrant trees and vibrant lights for v.m. 4.0

Cool. The old "Vibrant X" addons were all good.
Now they'll be even better. :)
