Hi all. I have a Geforce GT 650M card (yeap i've gone the laptop route) and i have been notified that the drivers have a new version . I am a bit hesitant to update because currently skyrim plays just fine. I did drivers update on a different computer with a different card and it messed up skyrim so I don't want to "fix it if it's not broken".

Does anyone else have any experience with this card and its drivers? Did you do a clean install? Uninstalled the original drivers and installed new ones? Directly update? Any adverse effects?

If you're happy the way things are working, I would leave it as is.

I use the 327.23 drivers and they are OK. But i play on PC.

As i can see new drivers came out today for PC and laptops. (331.58 - WHQL GeForce R331 Game Ready Driver).

But i don't know if they are better or not...

or you should just leave it that way, if you are satisfied from your drivers !!!!!

I will download those new drivers for my PC, i can inform you if they are ok with skyrim....

The only reason to update a video card driver is if the update addresses any concerns or issues that you may have a with a video card and or game. I have run driver packages that are more than a year old. Quite frankly, I let video card drivers cook for a bit and see if there are any issues. Some updates over the years have hosed or reduced specific game performance in an effort to make something else that I don't need work better.

If you want to experiment, then just set a System Restore point before trying the new driver package in case you want to go back. 8.1 is a new OS to an extent, and it may benefit from newer drivers if you have that OS.

There's nothing wrong with the latest drivers, use https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/550192/geforce-drivers/display-driver-uninstaller-ddu-v8-1/ to uninstall your current drivers entirely.
