When I load a save file in GOTY or New Vegas the video will freeze on the load screen and flicker bight/dark. I can hear the game playing (my footsteps, npc voices, weapons) and I can interact with the game (activate menus, fire, walk around), but all I can see is the bright/dark flickering load screen. When I set the video options to their lowest the issue still occurs. Video drivers are updated.

For GOTY edition I found a work around by loading the auto saves first and then load a more current save. That works but does not fix the issue. For New Vegas that work around does not seem to work.

I bought both games off steam in the last 3 days.

I have no other issues when starting the games from the begining or during gameplay when they work. I just cannot load any saved games or this problem will occur.

Any suggestions would be helpful.
