[REL] Virtually Seamless Hi-Rez Khajiit/Tabaxi Textures for

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:52 am

Name: Seamless Hi-Res Khajiit/Tabaxi Textures for HGEC & TGND
Version: 1.0
Date: 04/15/2010
Category: Models and Textures
Required: Tabaxi 2.0 if you plan to use this as a Tabaxi replacer.
One of these body mods: TGND, HGEC, Eyecandy
Author: Luchaire

===============
Description
===============

This mod replaces the existing Khajiit and/or Tabaxi textures, whichever you choose, with new higher-res textures. These textures began life as the Fantasy Figures Khajiit textures, originally created by Daede of TeamFF; the source material was cut, chopped, and beaten into submission until it fit the HGEC (or TGND) body both gracefully and with virtually no seams. Seams can still be seen if you look hard enough, but they are far less distinct.

To complement the body, a new tail mesh with higher res tail textures has been included. In addition, this tail is placed higher on the body so that it extends from the tailbone and not from between the butt cheeks.

Slightly recolored male textures are included for proper matching with the improved face texture.

===============
Install
===============

1. If you plan to use this for the Tabaxi, ensure that you have the Tabaxi 2.0 race installed, otherwise this mod will either do nothing or screw things up.
2. Also, ensure that you are, in fact, using one of these body mods: TGND, HGEC, Eyecandy.
3. Download one or both of the files: Khajiit Replacer or Tabaxi Replacer.
3. Extract all files somewhere.
4. Copy the meshes and textures folder into your "Oblivion/Data/" folder exactly as they are.
5. Overwrite when prompted. If you are not prompted to overwrite, go back to step 1 or 2 because you are missing something.
6. Enjoy. There is no .esp to activate or anything.

===============
History
===============

15 April 2010: First release

===============
Compatibility
===============

The Tabaxi version Will overwrite assets from the Tabaxi 2.0 mod.
The Khajiit version is not compatible with ANY other mod that alters khajiit body or face textures.

===============
Known Issues
===============

It's not perfect. But it's as close as I can get it.

===============

Nice! Thanks for this.
The tabaxi race is used in RBP isn't it, but called Ohmes...? Could be used for that, couldn't it? tho I suspect the file paths are different :shrug:

Anyhow, this is great, been after a higher res Khajiit texture pack for a while :)

The RBP Tabaxi is called Ohmes-Raht... and yes, the textures should work (if used as a straight-up replacer). Early testing by bg and myself indicated that the tail adjustment will very likely not. I don't use HGEC so I didn't go much further into it than that.

Not wanting to hijack this thread about RBP (but am doing, so sorry) but if I'm not playing as a Ohmes-Raht I won't see one anyway, or do some of the optional RBP plugins add them as NPCs (bandits/cut throats)? (I've read the RBP readme several time and it seems to contradict itself) Or are they from Frans. Plus they're in integration too :shrug:

Anyhow, great work Luchaire - AGAIN!

RBP integrates its races into FCOM, I'm pretty sure. I just killed what looked to be an Ohmes-Raht bandit last night. And the corpse of another bandit (who I thought was a Dunmer) sprouted wings when I removed his cuirass.

I have no idea how this will play/work with RBP, or even with COBL races which also includes the Tabaxi as Ohmes-Raht.

But if it doesn't work "straight out of the box" it should work fine with some manual file renaming/moving.

Aweseome work, work fine out of the box, With RBP and Cobl Races Ohmes-Raht, just replace your current tabaxi textures with your newly upgrade ones is all that is needed. Thanks for Khajiit has well.

Nice work once again..

Updated to fix a potential missing tail issue on the khajiit replacer reported by some people. Unfortunately, I can't actually test it on my setup since I didn't have this issue, but it should work.

Added White Tabaxi texture replacement files. Considered a beta - needs more testing/feedback.

OMG *runs* ... Rhavi normally uses your old whites, I'm off to download and try it out!!

Okay, here you go !!

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww187/OuijaU/Rhavi/Rhavi1.jpg This is her in your originals.

http://i718.photobucket.com/albums/ww187/OuijaU/Rhavi/rhavinwhite.jpg This is her with new. Her hair grew too ;)

Errr ... my graphics card is acting up a bit so not as good of shots as her original. But I LOVE the new look. She looked fab in the other tabaxi skin you just did also. But white just fits her and I love the new. The ONLY thing I can see at this point is I had a bit of a harder time with the neck seam than I did with your other. But again that very well could be my graphics card and nothing to do with this at all. I'm thrilled. Thank you!!! :goodjob: :dance:
