Visually Appealing v.s. Armor Pieces

Post » Thu Mar 03, 2016 11:28 am

I like the mm under clothes better and shadowed chest/l+r legs, not a fan of any of the arm gear. Its this kind of build for me or I end up going B-weave and something I like the look of. Both builds ill grab the health+DR perks to even no arms out or the only cloth. I just focus more on stealth at first if im that squishy.

Back in an old Skyrim thread, I proposed the following idea for armor:

1.) No "armor classes" (light, medium, heavy, etc.) You can wear any type of armor in any combination. The "class" of armor you're wearing is dictated by the overall weight, not the type. So a full set of plate armor would count as "heavy" armor. Swapping out the gauntlets and greaves for leather gloves and boots, ditching your helm, and removing one pauldron could lower the weight enough for it to be "medium" armor.

2.) Skills would be exclusive to certain armor weights. "Heavy" allows access only to power attacks and ripostes, low stealth, slow magic. "Medium" adds finesse attacks and longer combos, moderate stealth, moderate casting times. "Light" includes all of that plus acrobatics and leaping attacks, good stealth, faster casting times. This way, actual interactive gameplay changes based on the armor class, instead of just a few behind-the-scenes checks.

The above would allow for a huge number of weapon / armor / clothing combos and create really interesting looks. Players would no longer be limited to selecting from only a few armor sets to maximize your character. The whole range of game armors would be available to every character to mix-and-match; we would simply need to ensure our weight did not exceed the threshold for our desired armor class.

Did anyone even read about using cloth to upgrade outfits?

If I could BW the Scribe Outfit I'd not wear anything else.

I have managed to get a look I like by using a mod to make my vault suit black and numberless, and all leather armour shadowed (I like a stealthy play style) all black.

So, it does what I want plus looks okay.

Well, then it's simples. Wear what you want, don't get killed. Remember the basic strategy of staying alive... "run away!" Also use mines. Mines are great, especially when running away from something and it's chasing you... Bottlecap mines are the best, collect lunch boxes so you can make them yourself. Also don't forget to go back and collect the bottlecaps from the mine after it explodes.

Atom Cats Baby!

You can purchase an Atom Cats outfit from an unmarked trader southeast of Walden Pond. Atom Cats Outfit can accept ballistic weave, and two pieces of leg armor.

I like wearing the Atom Cats outfit, and two legendary leather leg pieces, and a ballistic weave battered fedora. Looks cool and protects, as well!

edit: sometimes I just wear Kellogg's outfit with my armored fedora. That looks pretty good, too. No armor pieces fit over Kellogg's though.
